Can I upload music that's genre is "Unknown"? Right now a buddy of mine is having trouble importing music, every song says "Failed" and "Category Missing"

Yes you can but that genre must be in the genre list. If it's not you can add it.

Is it possible to add multiple tracks at once to the playlist?

Yes, hold down the CTRL key while clicking on the tracks you want to add then click the GREEN PLUS SIGN at the bottom of the Search list to add all the highlighted tracks to the Playlist
