A tasty little teaser. Not Mr Hepworth - I mean this intro to a book I'm sure will be well worth reading for fans of British music in the '60s: fascinating to remember how hugely it impacted America!
As I live in cape town and can't trust the SA postal service, no bookplate for me. It will have to be an iPad version Miss the Word, love the books. Stay safe and well Sir David of Hepworth
Always considered the British Invasion as the best medicine for the US reeling from the death of Kennedy and dealing with the evolving Vietnam War. Beatles, Stones, DC5, The Who, Hermans Hermits, Animals, Spencer Davies Group,The Zombies, aghhhhh the list was endless😎👍
FAO DAVID: I love every book you've written, but please know how frustrating it is that only a couple of them are available in the States as audiobooks - 1971 and Uncommon People. Worse still Uncommon People isn't even narrated by your good self and yet the UK version is. That is mad. The geo blocking at Audible is rock solid and I just can't buy them here. Please, please, please sort this out. Thanks.
I'm afraid this is not something I can effect. The first two books were published in the USA, as were the audio books. For the second one the publishers insisted on an actor doing the reading. Since then the books have been only available in the USA as imports. The same will apply to the new one. The audio book side of things is beyond my command.
@@davidhepworth first of all thanks for replying. I do understand it's not in your control and it is VERY frustrating as one of your avid followers in the US. It seems so ridiculous that audiobooks are geoblocked when they aren't available at all in a certain territory. Why do people want to limit such a thing. I'm a big fan of authors reading their own work and your 1971 book is a great example of this. The second book narration was a ludicrous decision and it just felt diluted as a result. I'm English by birth, but that doesn't mean I have a silly bias either way. I just want to hear the author reading his text in his own voice. The good news is that I think I may have found a way to circumnavigate the geoblocking, but I need to put it to the test. Anyway many thanks for all you do.
A brilliant book by David Hepworth!
Thanks for this David - interesting hearing you link it all up.
