I considered buying an MH3 mic for my KX2 but, like all Elecraft stuff, they are really hard to come by and pricey here in Europe (I estimate 120-145€ for a new MH3 delivered and also only very few shops have it in stock). Today I checked the pinout and drafted something quite similar on paper, before finding this video. Happy to hear that kind of idea works well. Thanks a lot for the info and video.
Awesome!
Very clever mic replacement. Way to go Adam. I am a big fan of small/miniature gear that does a big job. Thanks for posting Kyle...73!
Looks like the connector might be a JST-XH, but hard to be certain without more info.
I need a 3D printer to make this product. Dang. Anyway thank you for showing Adams design.
Adam is a real one. All for the hobby. Outstanding op.
He designs great stuff!
Very handy!
Much better than lugging around the stock mike
Totally agree!
For me, I always found the MH3 to be bulky and somewhat ugly. I keep a mini Paddle and Microphone in with my KX2 with great success. I keep a retractable aux cord that I can use for either CW or SSB.
I need to find one of those retractable cords. I'm sure I could buy one on Amazon.
Kyle, you mentioned the connectors. Where did you look?
Not sure what you mean. Can you describe a bit more?
You mentioned JST connectors to repair the original mic. I am curious what you looked at.
I never found the correct jst connector. I looked on the jst website and none of them looked correct.
Camera Out of focus or maybe I need eyeglasses
