Part of the problem.
After ALL the work that has been done by brave, selfless men and women through the years to create a society where people of any race or gender would be seen equally, THIS is the garbage we've come to? Dr. King and every single black person who had to suffer through the atrocities committed upon them when they were fighting for equality, I feel, would be ashamed of what's happening in our society today. We're getting further apart, not closer together. Sad.

There are MANY person's of color known as Black Americans who suffered through the SAME things that Dr. MLK, John Lewis, Andrew Young and others went through including our own parents, grandparents, those in our communities. All good points and questions! What is sad is that there were only select groups of people who committed the atrocities, not everyone had this hate or felt this way and these same liberal freaks are doing the same thing to our society at the present time.
I noticed that this BLM professor FAILED to mention Dr. Carson's IMPROVERISHED beginnings, yet that did not stop him from becoming a world renowned neurosurgeon who is HIGHLY RESPECTED. This is the VICTOR narrative that BLM should be teaching our young black people!
Growing up in a major city in the 80's as a 10 year old, I recall many times seeing black men telling young children the same age to stop talking white and being made fun of by other black students for doing so.
That is changing and it is because of men like this host that know what self respect and quality education means.
I also have a strong city accent that I feel makes me sound dumb. I had an extremely articulate black professor that helped me articulate my words. His actions helped me gain more clients... No matter who you are be smart and build on things that make you better.
That is incredibly sad. Curious if those kids ever became successful with limited language skills.
The irony being that what's considered "talking black" is from West England, due to a mass of English from that region moving to the south. Those people mixed in with black Americans who were living in the south, who then moved up to the major cities.

My question for this professor is what about the "white" kids that grew up in those same impoverished neighborhood? I myself am one of those. We didn't have racism. We were all poor. Period. I was no better than you and you were no better than me. How come things have changed so much?

Do you know why you have so many white people subscribed to your channel? Because many of us are ready to be done with the past and we see you. Getting smacked in the face, like this gentleman does, while holding out the olive branch is a little rough and some will turn away. As with whites, there is a portion of the black community that will not let go of the past. All we can do is get on with our lives recognizing the reasonable ones among us. Living well and peacefully is the surest way to change minds.

That over the horizon analogy was a spot on man. That's a good and honest statement right there. So many people just won't keep pushing towards the horizon, they get scared or mad and turn back to the comfort of what they can already see and what they already "know". I am the same way about certain things and have to remind myself to be open minded about everything. I've never learned something and then felt more ignorant after learning it. I wish more people would ask for directions, would say they don't know the truth, and would actually listen to the people who do. I do agree that as a society we have a ways to go when it comes to the disparity of how people of different races are treated by various institutions. But at the age of 64 and compared to how it was when I was young, I can see how everyday citizens, for the most part, treat each other with respect and decency. WE are not the justice systems or the financial systems, we are neighbors and coworkers..friends.

But growing up, the some of the black kids always wanted what I had, my money, my positions, so I would have to get in fights. But I still had a lot of black friends, because they were not doing wrong. Trying to treat people the way they deserve. If your a human, treat them that way, if you act like a gangster or animal treat them that way.

I went to volunteer at my local elementary school and while there the gude pointed out the Ben Carson Reading Room...which she quickly stated was no longer in use implying exactly the reason this man cited. All I could think was how ignorant and shameful...a reading room is no longer used because of it's naming after Dr Carson...pathetic. the adults of these days are failing children miserably.

I can tell you, as a pastor who went to seminary, you do not "develop godly values by going to school". I had godly values cultivated in me by my parents, my community, my church and yes, by studying the word of God. If seminary did anything, it was to challenge my beliefs which helped helped me in learning more about the bible and more about people so that I can be more confident in sharing the Word. Iron sharpens iron.

I think what he meant about not getting moral values from schools, is like the difference between “ethics and morals”.
An ethical person knows that he should no do this or that, but the moral person wouldn’t do it.

My Introduction to Reading the Bible was what I think Jessie meant. I had NEVER read the Bible until I was hurting so I began to just pray little prayers. I started to feel better...I wanted to learn more about Christianity. Hence I began READING the Bible.

These videos are very interesting to me. I have been learning about different racial groups and the differences in .... in group mentality.
I was lucky enough to grow up on 90s-2000s Canada where the majority of families actually did teach and believe a color blind society. So we grew up really not caring. We found ppl interesting for their differences individually. Our teachers really put racism in our views in like grade 11 and 12...
But it's been interesting realizing that my family (white (sweedish, British, Irish, Scottish and a bit of spanish)) truly NEVER mentioned race... we never had anything about marrying in your race, being a good "white" person, acting white etc...
But when talking with my Chinese, Sikh, Punjab, black and native friends it was eye opening.
They were all raised with race based expectations... the concept of my raising with zero race based talk is wild to them.
I realized I assumed they were raised without racial talk and they assumed I WAS raised with racial talk...
Definitely made me look at all these current race issues differently. .
If my black and Chinese and brown friends all had racial talk to them while growing up they naturally assume I did too ... regarding white
but to me the idea of talking to my kids about race based or being given race based requirements is weird and shocking and not something I can imagine doing...
I just found it eye opening to me because since we had zero race based talk in my house I truly didn't realize how normal and entrenched it is for other people!

My wife is a completely different race, ethnicity, and religion than I am. We get along fine, because we are not part of the left/democrats. The left, for some odd reason, wants to segregate people based on made up differences.
