This blew me away! His energy on stage is amazing, and, I was shocked at his range when singing. This gave me chills, and, was a really good performance!
Doesn't change the fact that he hasn't done it in soo long. He did well all things considered, especially considering someone sang for him for some of the movie because of his tumor removal.
He started in musical theater and has always wanted to get back to that, I think he was probably really nervous about this performance in terms of proving himself as more than just an actor and it shows in some places but over all is so good!!

When Hugh Jackman was first announced as being cast as Wolverine in the X-Men film franchise, there was HUGE outrage from the comic fanbase... how was this six foot tall, song & dance guy from Australia going to play the 5' 3" Canadian tough guy?? At the time, he was really ONLY known as a song & dance stage performer ... The Boy from Oz ... Oklahoma ... et al. Of course, audiences in America are also resoundingly fickle and have the memory span of a goldfish ... so here we are 20+ years later, and people are suddenly being reminded that he was (and still is) a song & dance guy! (This same short term memory also has many audiences sitting back in shock when Christopher Walken gets up and dances... when Christian Bale sings or dances... Jaime Foxx ... etc. Heck, I'll bet that MOST audiences have forgotten how powerful a singer Angela Lansbury was in her day ... only remembering her from the TV series, Murder, She Wrote)
This may sound crazy, but one of the best versions of this song was on the 'Masked Singer' and was sung by Donny Osmond. He was 'the Peacock' on the first season, and just killed this song. I hope I've made you curious enough to check it out (even if you don't react to it).
