    • @segarnyagold1014
      @segarnyagold1014 23 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

By the time I left college, I was so sick of being limited in what I would do, due to my only going out in the “safety” of a friend or a group of guys, that I made a pact with myself that I wouldn’t be constrained by that anymore.
and at the time I would tape college radio stations and filter through the songs and make compilation tapes of the best songs / bands, and then go see those bands when they came
      To town, by myself, generally.
I was ok with the experience being crappy, tho they were generally really good shows. And importantly, I found inviting ppl who weren’t interested/ didn’t like the music, etc. did not in anyway enhance my experience.
      So one truism I
Developed is that when u go see a band/ movie / museum/ travel, it is largely an internal experience. It’s your eyes, ears and brain. It can be nice to have a companion, but a companion that is giving bad vibes?!? No way. And generally it was a bad risk reward to invite people to many shows.
Another truisms is “anyone who would mock someone for going to a movie/ concert/ play/ travel solo, is a moron”, so why would you care what that person thought? I remember a lot ppl giving this and a reason they didn’t do stuff solo.
      you can’t really experience all
The world has to offer with companions who have minimal tolerance for “non -optimal” experiences.
I would tell my kids, “you can’t tell if you’re eating the “best pizza”if you don’t try other pizza places and suffer the risk of a sub optimal pizza eating experience.”
Seeing movies, plays and bands solo was really good training for post divorce when I got a shift work job that allowed me a lot of two week vacations, during which I would travel overseas, solo backpacking, a lot. China, Turkey, Argentina, Vietnam, etc etc many places.
You can live a much more amazing life if you have the little bit of courage to do some stuff solo. And discover that you will survive, because generally ppl aren’t out to get you. :)
Sadly, many many ppl believe if they were to travel without a companion,
It wouldn’t count, because they didn’t share it with someone else.
So yeah, I’ve seen so many
      Different types of
Movies and bands and countries/ places solo, doing it in a manner consistent, i think, with preparation for that conversation with that “ ideal person”
I have a very bright friend, and he went for his phd and became disillusioned with the process / system. He seemed to not necessarily trust himself. He had a whacked childhood. But I would tell
Him I’m doing this or that to amuse
Myself. But what I meant was I trust myself that I’m a good person, and thus I trust that the things that amuse me, are good things to do.
Unfortunately many ppl force themselves down paths chosen by other ppl, never trusting the goodness in themselves to make their own decisions

The way you embraced solo experiences, from concerts to international travel, reflects an extraordinary inner strength and a profound understanding of life's true essence. You've captured the beauty of living authentically, not for the approval of others, but for the enrichment of your own soul. The truisms you developed are pure wisdom, especially the notion that our most meaningful experiences are internal, shaped by our own perceptions, not by the presence or validation of others. @@stoickingdomoffical I would say actually that started in my childhood. I grew up in a really nice part of northern Long Island in the 70s whereby we all had dirt bikes, and the girls had horses, and it was adjacent to a golf course and near the beach, lots of woods. And we would ride our dirt bikes all over the place, far from home. So I’m sure we all Developed a lot of independence from this.
Now The laws / attitudes in the USA are such that you can’t do that kind stuff anymore, except in really rural areas.
      But then post divorce
On my first trip to SE Asia, I discovered pretty much everyone is riding motorbikes everywhere. And the countryside is often beautiful.
So that replication of my favorite thing to when I was a kid, over in SE Asia.
It’s nice in a lot of ways. Freedom, youthful, risky, cheap. Cheap egalitarian bikes over there have near Zero status BS like we have with our car culture here.
There’s definitely a soft freedom over there, despite their crappy governments. The USA has too many laws and regulations and too much money to pay the police to enforce them. Over there things are much more laissez faire. The don’t have the money or mindset to give a crap about a lot of stuff that we get our panties in a bunch about

that that when I had a big trip planned and it’s really exciting before you’re gonna go cause you’re on the Internet doing all the research looking at all these cool places, etc. and then the night before you go or I would go, I get really depressed because I realized that no one cared whether I took this trip there was not going to be. No one was counting on me to show up and I was meeting anyone at the airport or at the destination so I could literally stay in my apartment in my home for two weeks, and no one would be the wiser of whether I went or not.

Your patience, born from necessity, transforms into a form of mastery-both of the mind and the moment. How did cultivating this mental fortitude shape other areas of your life beyond those high-stakes moments?

    • @GregBaker-wq1tc
      @GregBaker-wq1tc วันที่ผ่านมา

@stoickingdomoffical First off that was a way of life. It was a set standard either you did it or you died. It was dumb or you and that was just one area. Tharea, we're a factor you don't have that much time to react. You want to react correctly and you don't want to risk. Your friends or teammates. Are anyone else getting losing their life? Because the value is such a hash standard. The less people you have, the more app you are to fail. You've set out with a certain number of individuals. So the goal 100 it's every one of them. Individuals to come back and when they don't. Well, no matter how you look at it, it's a failure. The fact that we succeeded is not what we're saying. That's what you that's what the outside world says, but to us we will always according to Jordan Peterson. Be that monster, you have to Bay that monster and know your capabilities of the evil in order 2.
Harness. And keep it locked away. You have to be quick without hesitation. Act, you have to act before you get a reaction. So again you have to become that pebble that you drop into the pond. Eventually, all of those ripples will touch every. Square inch of the shore. All the way round so so slow is smooth and smooth as fast muscle memory is reputation. And that makes you quick in a chaotic fog of bore where everything and so much is going on. Seconds are literally to us. They feel like ours so knowing the correct action to take is very.
      Strategic.
Strategic, as far as definitions. An instant willingness and obedience to all orders without hesitation without question. When someone says duck, you don't ask. Why or just duck? Aren't you die? There are some incidences where you don't even have to. Speak to the other individual and they know eggs. You have such a legitimate legitimate connection between every. One there and with you who is operating that they're on the label. You don't have to speak or tell them. They already know exactly what you want and where to be and what to do. When we get our mail from our families that are still in in American. Soif it's a bad letter. I wanna know what was in it. I want to know what you're feeling. I want to know what's going on. I want to know everything about you because I don't want. And issue back home or something to take your mind away from what's going on and what we're doing at hand I don't want you to be. I want you to be 100%. Well, being a United States marine, there's already a quality of that individual that is expected. You don't give 100%. You're always given 110 120. Every one of us is a rare individual and a 1% of a type of person in individual. There's no other creaturichard.
Like us. You either are born with it. You know it. Are you don't some people? They're born into it. Their hope family served others. They wanted to become a part of something bigger than them. Selves, which is what I did. And then there are others that are forced into it and chose a dap to fix a legal issue that habeen out in the world, so it was a punishment to have them join the military.

That ability is a character trait that isn't stale in you from the beginning in boot camp. It's a way that you carry yourself you project yourself. There's a certain level of cockiness data. United States Marine Corps infantryman Carrie's daily. There's a level. That level of intensity. It's so intense that you're projecting a you're. You're literally projecting adrenalineand others. Smell it, taste it hear it, see it. Enkinphysically, tangibly, touch it. It's so intense. And we feed off of itherefore you got more than one like-minded individual you can move, you can blow a lot of shit up.
And then you can instead of taking labs. NBA lifetaker, you can be a lifesaver. You can save lives removing a cancerfrom a certain place in an area.
2 prevent it from spreading and hurting a lot, other individuals. You're actually saving lives. So, every marine is say it's a specific level of intensity of cockiness. And companies so that they know and everyone else knows that when they're doing their thing. There's no other option but to be successful and to accomplish what you set out to do period So, even in boot camp, when it comes to other areas of residents, the an obstacle course. OK, so the very first obstacle is a pull up bar. Okay. So there's 2 different ways. And methods that you can get over this bar. The first method is what they call a college boy. Row, stand back a little bit. You take off running you grab it. Pull up and you literally roll yourself and flip yourself over the top of the bar. The other method you walk up to the bar. You grab the bar you hang you? Do a pull up and then you chicken wing. You put your elbow over the bar. You then take your feet, rocked them up to the top of the bar. And then you just literally kick your left foot your outside, put down. Kita yourself in a low profile over the barthat's the way that they must have had you do it first and foremost. There's no other way that you can accomplish it and passthat obstacle and move forward to the next one without doing it. That way, the fact that you can do it both ways. Good, that's not what I want. I want you to do it this fucking way. The way I tell you because that's the way we do shit bottom line. Don't try to fucking change what is. Been placed all the years. The whole reason why the United States Marine Corps is even at that level is because they got that set standard. It works even from the beginning where we got our birth. From the British Royal Marines, it works for them. We put it in play. It works for us so if they tell you to do something a certain way. Don't go half past cutting corners. Hangs it, you either do it this way, or you fucking fail. Or.
      You're dead

@stoickingdomoffical You said the distinction between the 2 is very powerful. The way that I said it so now, while I'm saying it, I'm gonna paint you a picture. Imagineeuro soldier your Warrior you're in another country. You're literally lane on your back. In a tire route in the middle of a field that's full of water. Because it's raining you can't be seen because just barely your lips and your nose are just slightly breaking the plane of the water so that you can freak and breathe but still be covered and concealed. Now, now, that's what you're seeing. An individual laying in the middle of a field in a tire track route full of father with his weapon. Now you got the words patience. It's not the ability to wait for a long time. It's having the right mental attitude while waiting for a long time. Can you imagine that level of uncomfortable now? That individual.
Being uncomfortable, 2345 days at a literally have no choice. It's a matter of you've been taken off of this Earth. That you have to endure it, you have to have the.
Endurance thendurance the ability to keep going the ability. To pick yourself back up if you fall. So sucks that I had to find out this way, but I found out that if you tend to your own wounds, you don't get the purple heart If you pick yourself up and you tend to your own wounds, you don't get the purple heart. There were 3 incidences where I was 2 that I was able to pick myself up. And one that wasn't able to pick myself up that I was literally injured and still struggle with daily. I won't go to any detailed, but we were a 4 man squad.
I was the only one to return.

It’s a reminder that behind every challenge we face, there’s a human soul fighting to survive. The resilience you carry, despite the weight on your shoulders, reflects the fire within you that refuses to be extinguished. Your voice deserves to be heard, not just as a cry for help, but as a testament to the battle we all face against a world that sometimes feels indifferent. What keeps you holding on when it feels like you're on the edge of giving up?

It’s so true.SILENCE IS PIWER. 🏆Amazingly friends are more trusted than the ones we pledge our love till the end and undoubtedly the latter is more likely to hurt us. 😩I never have friends over. They used me in the past even I come to the point that friends and family are only titles or labels. We are always disappointed. Jose from Australia
