His death in reboot MW pissed me off so much that I’m writing a fanfic now. I actually like Soap (both versions) and wanted to see him develop more as a character.
Lol soap died like any soldier in war would, Brains blown out after getting owned by Makarov in close quarters combat. About as real and brutal as soldiers getting got in Iraq or Afghanistan back in the early 2000's 💀💀💀💀.
@@saynotodrugs5765 very true. I think it’s because he died in the original trilogy, people were hoping to see something different instead of reiterating similar story beats.
@@jbbelenkokoro2673 they have something good going in the MW 2 reboot. I liked that campaign! I liked graves and Alejandro! Both of them better be back in the next game if they make it. Mw3 was kinda a let down so I'm hoping they can bring the ship back on course.
It doesn't make sense that soap died in MWIII since he normally works with Ghost, not Price. Also, Gaz would fit in better with dying since he is a main character, but unlike Soap is pretty fully developed. It would also probably hit Price much harder since Gaz was kind of like his protégée. If you are arguing that Soap was only with Price in that tunnel since he has EOD training unlike the others, just remember that the other tunnels with Ghost and Gaz had bombs too, so it wouldn't really be all that different.
@@VincentPagola there is the counter argument that Gaz is kind of the new Soap, so he shouldn’t have died. Maybe Alex could have made sense when he was taken hostage. This could have left a heavy emotional impact on Farah.
They really killed soap but brought back Alex, a side character in the first game?? They killed a series staple so fuc**** easily but the guy who was supposed to die in explosion somehow lived?? WHY.
They killed him off because this is just a reboot of OG Modern Warfare but i was really hoping to see more character development and like see a backstory of him R.I.P John MacTavish
I still don't agree taht they killed off Soap. It felt like such a cope out and very unnecessary. I really think Soap was such a huge selling point for the MW games (past and future), i mean ghost is too but dang...it really is a shame
Super small nitpick that doesn't really matter but John's name isn't John it's Johnny MacTavish In this timeline. super small doesn't really matter I just wanted to point it out 💀
@Texasvu in mission briefings at the start of missions where you play as him, his name is listed as John "Soap" MacTavish. When Soap was threatening Makarov at the end of flashpoint, Price calls him John. When Price tells Laswell about him at the end of MW2019, he says "John Mactavish, SAS, sniper, demolitions. goes by Soap." His name is John. Alejandro says "I can't call Soap johnny" to which Soap replies, "no only Ghost can do that". Johnny is Ghost's nickname for him.
Yoooo when I first played MW2 and the ending came when Ghost saved his life and it zoomed right on him.... I thought there's no way that's not Zac Efron😂😂😂😂
Those were the days when Activision used top tier actors to play the characters I mean take Kiefer Sutherland in World of War as a prime example of upper echelon of actors - I can only assume Activision chose profits over high quality actors because they stopped using them after Modern Warfare 2

@@saynotodrugs5765Alejandro and Los Vaqueros were the highlights for me in MWII to the point were Task Force 141 felt like cameos to me in the game.
It’s more realistic, no dramatic death or anything
I think our next one will focus on Alex or Farah! and will be out very soon. Thanks for watching!!

Side character? You play like a third or more of the game as Alex lol
he died in the original game by Makarov which is why he died in the reboot too. You also play Alex for a good amount of time throughout the games.
Alex is literally a main character in the first game bro💀
Soap was my favorite carter
Lil bro you didn't even play mw2019
thanks for the succinct video! was looking for something exactly like this
Glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching!

Thanks man I saw that somewhere where he is called Johnny and I was curious about that. Thanks for the insight.
His real name is still John but Ghost calls him Johnny. It's like his second nickname

He can't beat captain McTavish
They done him wrong. 😭
Wait Soap is younger than me? ('94)
_sad noises_
idk it feels like his renewing another identity

Kevin mckidd will always be soap
The Beirut strait? It's the BERING STRAIT. Google isn't chilf-proof.
THANK YOU!
I love Soap...but COD killed him...again.🤮🤮🤮
I still like Kevin McKidd's voice better..his voice was really iconic..
