The main difference between Wilson and FDR and Truman is that Wilson failed with the League of Nations while FDR and Truman were successful with the United Nations. Now pretty much everyone would denounce Wilson for being a racist and a segregationist. But liberals should support his economic and foreign policies. Conservatives and libertarians would understandably oppose Wilson’s economic and foreign policies. I think that Wilson was a mediocre president.

@willfakaroni5808 yeah he made it to where schools weren't allowed to be taught about influential black figures in history. That laid the framework of school education for probably 50+ years. He essentially tried to erase parts of history that highlighted black and even native America history. He was greatly influenced by Birth of a Nation and even had it shown in the white house as he was president.

Yes, plus he laid the foundation for the Second World War by insisting Germany bare the full responsibility for the start of WWI. He had terrible relations with Mexico, killed 'many' civilians when his Gunboats bombarded Veracruz. Wilson's high ranking is due to the fact he was associated with Harvard, so all the Ivory Tower academic revisionists love him.

CSPAN"s Presidential Survey shows an interesting decline in Wilson's public stature. He was ranked 6th among presidents in 2000, but had fallen to 13th by 2021. I think Wilson's reputation has suffered as the United States has lost confidence in its international role following Iraq and Afghanistan. The renewed focus on racial issues over the last decade or so hasn't helped him, either.

His views on race are well documented, and his League of Nations was a forerunner to the United Nations. WWII started from multiple things like Treaty of Versailles, the "stab in the back" (what Germans thought the Kaiser did, remember, no one stepped foot into Germany during the war), the rise of USSR (bc of Germany helping Lenin to overthrow the Czar so Germany could get them out of the war), the stock market crash (this had a major affect in Germany bc of the Treaty, bread alone costed millions of Deutchmarks), etc. etc.
