Got one last year after a Triumph Street Triple RS. For me, the Street was a real rippin' machine if you like to ride the sports way. Then I test rode the MT10 and soon (or immediately 😂) realize I needed more torque. The bike blew my mind and I knew I was gonna have one. I do not regret it and I am not planning to change it for a long time ! Oh yes, and that sound ! !!! Sure it is one hell of a bike !
Couldn't agree more!! My exhaust came in yesterday and all i have to is wow!! It sounds absolutely amazing and runs like a monster with the flash tune!!
Yep, it does consumes MORE FUEL than the competition, but it is also a very good naked sports bike, quite a BEAST even, has that nice tamable hooligan character if you really wanna have a go with it. . .there is also some degree of excitement, though, if you go down the MT09 or MT07 route where you can really wack the throttle off and have that same amount of smile in your face...! Cheers!
I’m about to buy an MT 10 in the next few days. Dealer is “working on a number.” Anyway, I have watched every video out there. I totally get it can facilitate hooligan riding. Will it “let” you take it easy? When I’m not in the mood for wheelies, can I cruise at 65mph without it spitting and complaining? Thanks and great video!
Yes 100%! This bike is actually more of a older guys bike in my opinion, rarely do I see younger guys on one and they tend to just cruise, plus it's literally got cruise control lol and lots of guys use it to travel on. I know LOTS of guys complain about the seat however I personally happen to really like the stock seat on the bike(guess it all depends on what you are used to) Typically I plan to cruise every time I go out on it and I just end up riding like a maniac because its just so powerful I can't help myself! but yes it's actually a really nice riding, comfortable bike, you definitely control how crazy it can gets.
r6realtor thank you so much for your reply. I’m a “sporty” old guy, so you nailed me! :-) I know this thing will be a stone cold blast to twist a grip on. But when I’m tired or otherwise not in the mood, it needs to “leave me alone.” You answered perfectly. Be safe and have fun.
it's definitely not to loud, it still has a scooter sound to it compared to the austin racing pipe which is extremely loud. Honestly it doesn't even look that bad really.
I’ve been practicing on my friends Ducati 899 for half a year now just finished my msf course n bought n mt10 coming up on 700 miles myself love the bike scary but fun🤪
@@ur2slob724 the 899 only dynos between 130-134 with a filter, tune and FULL termi exhaust, ducati claims 148 at the motor not the wheel. A tune and exhaust on the mt10 gets between 154-160 from what i have seen. Stock the mt10 is dynoing what the 899 is putting down fully modified.
I'm in absolute love with this bike, need an opinion. I've been riding a 125 for some time (about 3 years) (eu license laws and shit) and getting my unlimited license soon, the ridingschool uses mt07's and since i'm in love with this one, and i am a pretty controlled rider, i like to chill, maybe rip it when the situation allows it (no risky shit) i wanna get the mt10 as my next bike, any advice on that? (summary, 3 years 125, 12+ hours mt07, then getting a mt10 as next bike)
man honestly that's a HUGE step up, there is such a large gap between a 125 and the mt10. If you were my son I would tell you absolutely not! you have so much time to build up experience on a smaller more tame bike and then eventually move up to the mt10. Because the mt10 is so powerful you could easily get out of control on the bike, over correcting or just letting the bike get away from you. Only you know how responsible you truly will be with the bike, however I know that if I had this kind of power before I was 22 years old or so I would have really hurt myself and I would consider myself a fairly responsible rider.
@@r6realtor Alright thanks a lot! I think considering things i might add another step in between, i suspected it might be a bit much, thanks for the advice!
My mt07 was similar on gas, it'd always mysteriously be halfway after some hard riding. Also the bars would even be glitchy from time to time... Sometimes it'd read 2, turn off then back on and it would be back up to 4 or 5. Good thing gas was like 7 bucks for full tank on that naughty girl though.
What exhaust are you putting on? My MT-10 has about 400 miles on it and I'm waiting on a GP3 from Austin Racing. Also, will you be putting on a power commander or flashing the ecu and whats your reasoning. Thanks!
I wanna ride an mt-10 so bad. My stock 18 R1 made 166 on the dyno and after an Austin Racing GP2 pipe and a flash tune it makes 180 to the ground! It's a handful of fun man enjoy your bike!!
nice! yeah I have had 3 new generation r1's now and tuned/piped them all and are absolute beasts! this doesn't have as much top end but my goodness the low end tq is just insane, put the exhaust and tune on last night...it's ridiculous!!
@@r6realtor that's sick man! What pipe did you go with?? Unless it's a surprise haha. But the low end power is noticeably stronger on the new bike huh?! That's wild man! Thatll be perfect for the twisties
I have been dirtbiking now for almost 15 years... does dirt skill translate into road skill? If I am a good rider on dirt, do you think this bike is manageable as a first road bike?
Man that's a tough one because you have good 2 wheel experience, however this bike is a completely different animal, for you i would suggest trying to test ride one and see what you think. It's a lot of bike to handle and the street has its own set of challenges, i dont know how well you ride or anything like that but if i had to guess riding for that long on two wheels would make you an exception to the rule as far as having this as a first bike, just respect it man it can get out of control so easy.
so I've put about 3000 miles on my first bike (ninja 250r) and completed the msf would you think I could jump to one of these as a second bike? I tend to do alot of long distance rides and I hear that alot of people tour on them and for having one bike they seem quite versatile
In my opinion it totally depends on how responsible of a rider you are, my second bike was a ducati hypermotard that freaking ripped! I was a super responsible respectful of the machine type of rider though, I never took advantage of all that power until I was ready at least(months and months later) it's just so easy to screw up with so much power and not much experience.
@@iimgbillyrock started on a wr250r on/offroad bike, it was actually a great bike and had 4 more throughout the years just as a fun offroad bike that i could ride the roads to get to the trails. Yeah I'd be extremely surprised if a dealership would allow you to test ride one lol
@@r6realtor yeah! This definitely has that V8-ish sound to it which is pretty dope. Honestly, I haven't heard the sound of a MT-10 in person which is the only real way to experience it. I guess I'll take your word for it. Anyway, love this MT-10. Keep putting out more content. Ride safe, man!

Appreciate the sub! I'm not a huge kawi fan at all so me personally I would never consider that bike. I have owned two brand new 15 and 16 1290 superdukes and to be honest I found them to be very tame bikes. With the nickname "the beast" I found it to be quite the opposite the only bikes that have ever give me that adrenaline rush feeling have been my 3 r1's and this mt10 the tq is just absolutely nuts on this bike and I can't recommend it enough! I can't say since I haven't owned or ridden the new superdukes if they are any better or not but I was just never impressed with either of them.
I came from a 2018 MT-07 just upgraded to the 2020 MT-10 it’s such a a BEAST. I rode in mode 3 one time the first time I got it. After that mode 1 all day. I switched to mode 3 on accident one time. I was like wtf is wrong with my bike it felt sluggish. Looked down i was in mode 3 😂. I got the akrapovic link pipe on mine with the stock can. It sounds amazing and loud AF. I do need to get it tuned tho to get the power gains.
They are thirsty. The dash is my only gripe. The should be MT10sp gauges all around. But man they are fun with a flash. I’m gonna do a 520 chain on mine soon.
I think it's very comfortable, way more comfortable than any of my mt09's ever where and of course over any of my r1s. So far this bike is my absolutely most favorite bike i have owned!
I've actually had 2 brand new 2015 and 2016 1290 superdukes and I also had a 821 Ducati Hypermotard. I personally never found the superdukes exciting at all. KTM just has the throttle so tuned in that it makes the bike feel boring, I'm not sure if the newer version are any better but again it was one of those bike where I thought this bike is going to be crazy and scare me to death but quite the opposite.
@@r6realtor that is my main concern :s i've had two ducatis with their special torquiness that im scared other bikes dont make me feel the same. Ive tried a bounch but not bigger ones. Im also getting a track focused R6 haha

It's just my opinion but I don't think you would be disappointed in the mt10 at all, it will be in a different universe compared to your ducati, the mt10 is an absolute monster!
Fyi.. check your state law,if u have not already. In NC-SC for motorbikes, the red light turns into a stop sign after 2-3 minutes. From which the rider can proceed. Most bikes will not have the magnetic signature required to trip the induction loop controlling the light... look for the metal lines in the road. Under this statute, the biker is automatically at fault if they cause an accident, so be careful and make sure u are clear left to right.... Check the law in your state. Cheers!
so you know what i paid for this bike? I have purchased 50 bikes now from this dealer if you think i pay anywhere near msrp you're crazy man lol 👍to be quite honest if they were both free and sitting right in front of me and i could only choose one i would still get the 10.
Yep, you could. I got a 2016 Aprilia Tuono v4 1100 RR, at 300 miles on the odometer, for $8990. What a bike for the money! I like the MT10, don't get me wrong, but I prefer the overall experience a Tuono offers. There's a big possibility he paid more than $8990 for the MT10.
@@florinvid so you paid used pricing for a used bike basically. The Aprilia has absolutely horrible resale value but don't feel bad, all of the European bikes do(seriously not busting your balls at all!) The tuono is beautiful bike and so are the Ducati's but I just can't spend that money and get crap for resale and the reliability has been fairly poor as well. Ducati is just as bad resale wise, I have owned at least 50 new bikes in the last 5-6 years and that's why I stopped buying the European bikes because you get freaking destroyed on resale and when you go through as many bikes as I do those bikes are losers every time for me. Of course that's not the only reason..i purchased a brand new ducati a few years back and I think I had to have 4 recalls done on it in 5 months, plus the constant stalling out of nowhere, I'm not saying the Japanese bikes are the best but I never seem to ever have issues with them. They're definitely not as beautiful or exotic but they are reliable and I would say fairly competitive in speed/power. I had 2 brand new 1290 KTM superdukes as well, one was perfect and one the rear shock seal went out within 5 miles(I will say ktm has been more reliable than my ducati's though) Luckily I basically stole both of the superdukes and was able to sell them for almost exactly what I paid for them.
@@r6realtor hey brother, i have a dealer near me who has a new 2018 Superduke listed for $11,999 ($6k off MSRP). What do you think is a fair first offer to them? (Not OTD, but for the bike itself)

I love the mt10 I just can’t stand it’s headlights. Reminds me of toys I played with growing up….. but that engine makes it really easy to look past it’s annoying transformers face. I rly hope for 2022 they do a single like like they did with the MT09 with just 1 light fixture for high and low beams and running lights on the side….. but mechanically and audibly that bike is all you rly could ask for.
I’ve heard that some mt-10’s have had issues with the engine blowing up. There was also an engineering/motorcycle repair school in the UK that said the engine runs a bit hot from the factory so they fixed some things and retuned the bike so it would run cooler.
Its a 100% way worse in mileage. I cant calc with freedom units but my 09 did something around 5 liter per 100km if ripped and the mt10 did like 8-9l per 100km if driven medium..
I went to my local dealer on Monday just to have a look see. Wanted to see what they had as far as the 2020 line up. The new r1 and the new mt10 were my real reasons tho lol. And OF COURSE there wasn't either in stock. I love the sport bikes and just that style of riding. It's all I know really. But I'm thinking I'm at the age where comfort is starting to take a front seat over everything thing else. But with this mt10, I feel like I'd have the best of both worlds. If only I can find one to test ride. The dealers around here SUCK when it comes to that. If I don't know someone or just happen to meet someone who has a bike I'd like to test, then it just isn't happening for me lol. Appreciate the review. Although I'd bet my mortgage you have a new bike this time next yr. HaHa! Jk. Be safe yo. 👊✊️

r6realtor sick! Can't wait to check out that video. That's all I hear about the mt10 and also the mt09. Well I came across this STUPID deal on a mt09 after I had already ridden one and ended up buying it. It was BETTER than amazing! Lol. But I bought it to make a few bucks on and it left my possession fairly quick. And now that I'm about ready for a new bike, I really want to give the big boy a shot. I keep going back and sit on the mt09, but MAANNN! My #1 FAVORITE bike, BY FAR, is the r1. M model or not, don't care. Just that cp4 engine is all that matters. Lol. Idk, I guess I'll have to take a lil road trip, when all this BS is over of course, to a neighboring state for a test ride. Dealers here are a bunch of pansies! Not even any Demo's. Anyway, thanks for all your input fella. I know, WITHOUT A DOUBT, I would absolutely love it if I just buy it. Just need to quit going sit on the 09 before I come home with that one lol. Be safe my dude. I'll be checking for your vid.
I've had my ECU flashed here in the UK. For me the throttle is still snatchy as hell, but it definitely pulls alot harder and after leaving AIS enabled it pops and bangs like crazy, I can't stop laughing everytime it does it. That's with the Leo Vince decat 3/4 system.
Mathew Armstrong absolute suicide for a new rider, in aus/nz we have a system which restricts power to weight till you have your full license (12+ months riding) and i really agree its the way to go. Its insanity to hand a newbie even a 600 its just sooo easy to get yourself in trouble (read: dead)
I think it depends on the age of the new rider, I’m a new biker at 40 years of age. Spent a day on an MT10 the other day and I found it easy to ride. Just my opinion though, not trying to start an argument.
All 4 of my mt09's got about 45 or so and all 3 or my r1's got the same as my mt10 does..shes a beast and likes to drink lol, the bike is totally worth it though!!
29.5 mpg? Total non-starter. Just toured five days and 1300 miles on my Fz-09. Averaged 53 mpg. Worst tank 45mpg, best 63 mpg. Almost double. The 10 is a pig, although a fast pig.
Hi mate don't take this as a negative but in regards to you fuel economy you ride but you are gonna light it up at every opportunity. Chill out and change gears and save gas
Lol i know that definitely doesn't help and to be honest it's totally worth the not so great milage because the bikes is an absolute blast to ride, im sure if i took it much easier it would do better but its just to much fun lol. All 3 of my r1's were the same way, i got the same exact milage on them as well.
Robert Stridström, I have a gsxs1000. I only get 30-33mpg over the last 5000 miles. When I bought my Suzuki I was looking at the MT-10. The only thing that kept me from the MT-10 was the price. The MT-10 is a nice bike!
200hp at peak rpm’s. According to dyno testing, the MT-10 actually has more power from 4,000-8,000RPM, after 8k RPM the R1 does indeed make more power. This is due to different tuning, fueling, camshafts, and compression ratios.
Personally for me, I think that the stock setup is perfect in terms of power. Come on guys, everyone agrees that "it's a Beast", so unless you're going to the track on it or looking to loose your licence, it's more than enough. So really, there's no 'real' need to spend money on "tuning" it or putting in expensive exhausts for "power gains". Most definitely a waste of money if you live in a country that has strict speed limits. I also think that the stock sound is perfect. Must be the "top" sound for a bike with stock exhaust. Decat and special pipes just make it "a tad" too loud. You need to have understanding cops and neighbours. Me, since I leave at 7am for work, definitely a no.
Covid was AMAZING for riding. It was like a beautiful dream when all the roads had almost no cars on them.

My butt needs a rest every 2hours anyway. Did you switch to a comfort seat for the road trip?
i finally got mine! what a beast, i just hit 300 miles on it lol. still need exhaust tho :(
nice!
The SC project sounds AMAZING on the MT10. Definitely check it out if you’re shopping for exhaust still.
awesome video. awesome bike. Thanks I am getting one. I am really excited
Thanks! You will definitely love this bike!
The mode button doesn't alter the power , it alters the throttle response .
Yes i just realized that after talking with my tuner yesterday.
👍
How can I find out what your bike looks like and the update you’re going to do
all on my Instagram page @r6realtor1
Yep, it does consumes MORE FUEL than the competition, but it is also a very good naked sports bike, quite a BEAST even, has that nice tamable hooligan character if you really wanna have a go with it. . .there is also some degree of excitement, though, if you go down the MT09 or MT07 route where you can really wack the throttle off and have that same amount of smile in your face...! Cheers!
yes the fuel consumption is totally worth it! I absolutely love this bike! probably one of my favorites out of 50 or so I have owned.
I know LOTS of guys complain about the seat however I personally happen to really like the stock seat on the bike(guess it all depends on what you are used to)
Typically I plan to cruise every time I go out on it and I just end up riding like a maniac because its just so powerful I can't help myself! but yes it's actually a really nice riding, comfortable bike, you definitely control how crazy it can gets.
r6realtor thank you so much for your reply. I’m a “sporty” old guy, so you nailed me! :-) I know this thing will be a stone cold blast to twist a grip on. But when I’m tired or otherwise not in the mood, it needs to “leave me alone.” You answered perfectly. Be safe and have fun.
You can go down a few tooth at the rear to get better gas mileage. Ive heard of going less for 1 litre/100km for like 2 tooth down tho.
Nah not worth it, everything about the bike is awesome definitley didn't buy it for gas mileage and the gearing helps the wheeling fun lol
r6realtor it still wheelie at third lol, w a tune of course
Are you actually serious. 1L/100???
Seems like no muffler works out pretty well, is it just a bit too loud? Or did you just not want the unfinished pipe sticking out of the cat?
it's definitely not to loud, it still has a scooter sound to it compared to the austin racing pipe which is extremely loud. Honestly it doesn't even look that bad really.
Glad you're loving it mate, considering a move up from the MT09 myself. And btw, your black/silver MT09 is still the best looking one Ive ever seen :)
Thank you sir! I do appreciate it!
I did the move up. The 10 is awesome. Better in every way except sound.
You still don't have your pipe? Actually sounds great with no can though!
literally just came in last night, you think this sounds good you should hear the new exhaust!!!
Damn I thought he had his pipe. Stock actually sounds good
I Will get one as soon as Corona settles.. sold my street triple for one of these

I’ve been practicing on my friends Ducati 899 for half a year now just finished my msf course n bought n mt10 coming up on 700 miles myself love the bike scary but fun🤪
Nice!!
Mt10 vs 899 50-150 roll who wins?
@@ur2slob724 I'm betting mt10
r6realtor above 100mph I would say the 899 would skywalk the mt10. They both dyno around 150hp atw give or take
@@ur2slob724 the 899 only dynos between 130-134 with a filter, tune and FULL termi exhaust, ducati claims 148 at the motor not the wheel.
A tune and exhaust on the mt10 gets between 154-160 from what i have seen. Stock the mt10 is dynoing what the 899 is putting down fully modified.
Recommendation on tank pad and grips? Never had the grips for my legs before, but they really look great with this color scheme.
Stompgrip are the most reliable, the best grip, and the tiniest. They don't wear out
I'm in absolute love with this bike, need an opinion.
@@PotatoKingOPS yes sir!
Thanks!

nice! yeah I have had 3 new generation r1's now and tuned/piped them all and are absolute beasts! this doesn't have as much top end but my goodness the low end tq is just insane, put the exhaust and tune on last night...it's ridiculous!!
@@r6realtor that's sick man! What pipe did you go with?? Unless it's a surprise haha. But the low end power is noticeably stronger on the new bike huh?! That's wild man! Thatll be perfect for the twisties
Hi, nice looking MT 10, can you please share where did you buy the tank pads
I’m going to make the switch from super sport to street fighter. MT 10 seems like the most bang for your buck.
agreed! I have owned tons of bikes and this most definitely one of my favorites!
so I've put about 3000 miles on my first bike (ninja 250r) and completed the msf would you think I could jump to one of these as a second bike? I tend to do alot of long distance rides and I hear that alot of people tour on them and for having one bike they seem quite versatile
In my opinion it totally depends on how responsible of a rider you are, my second bike was a ducati hypermotard that freaking ripped! I was a super responsible respectful of the machine type of rider though, I never took advantage of all that power until I was ready at least(months and months later) it's just so easy to screw up with so much power and not much experience.
I suppose I'll have to test ride one but I'm a little worried about what the dealership would think lol
what did you start on?
@@iimgbillyrock started on a wr250r on/offroad bike, it was actually a great bike and had 4 more throughout the years just as a fun offroad bike that i could ride the roads to get to the trails.
Yeah I'd be extremely surprised if a dealership would allow you to test ride one lol
I wonder if the MT-09 sounds better than the MT-10
Not in my opinion, i had 4 mt09s and this thing sounds like a v8 Corvette or nascar with the new exhaust on it
@@r6realtor yeah! This definitely has that V8-ish sound to it which is pretty dope. Honestly, I haven't heard the sound of a MT-10 in person which is the only real way to experience it. I guess I'll take your word for it.
Anyway, love this MT-10. Keep putting out more content.

Great review ! Subscribed ! Will really appreciate your opinion regarding Mt 10 , 2020 Ktm SDR or Kawasaki Zh2 . Which one should i go for? Can afford 1 lol. Btw most of my riding will be NYC , Suburbs and some highway. Thanks
I think it does not have the low end torque now before tune with a decat.
"to get the power gains"?? What, you need more power?
They look fantastic mate, I have the SP great bikes 👍
Does the SP have the same issue with the fuel gauge dropping off in a big scale ????
No SP in the US! :-(
@@ChristRegeneration best not rely on the gauge, I normally go by the trip meter, I normally fill at around 180 Kms 👍
Dyno's vary. 150 to the ground with pipe, air filter flash would be more realistic.
I hate the lights in Florida
Can't believe they haven't updated the crappy petrol indicator. From full to half is such a pain in the arse.
agreed, I'm used to it now though
I get 34.1 mpg on my 21 mt09 but I ride a bit crazy so I bet if I chilled a little it’ll be closer to 40.
They are thirsty. The dash is my only gripe. The should be MT10sp gauges all around. But man they are fun with a flash. I’m gonna do a 520 chain on mine soon.
What's the benefit of the chain? I've heard of people doing it but don't know why
how comfortable is it for longer rides?
I think it's very comfortable, way more comfortable than any of my mt09's ever where and of course over any of my r1s. So far this bike is my absolutely most favorite bike i have owned!
thats not the stock exhaust is it? never mind you said in the vid :)
yeah just took the pipe itself off, cat is still in place.
Have you tried the monster 1200s or the superduke? I come from a momster 821 and wanting to change to a bigger naked.

Thanks man, yeah honestly it's totally worth it lol
Fyi.. check your state law,if u have not already.
Cheers!
Maybe a good 3rd-4th bike, looking at Sv650’s and VTR 1000F’s aka Superhawk 996 😈
Specs say 36 mpg for the MT-10. I guess it depends too, full throttle then bye bye gas but if your being good then I can see 36 mpg

I never rode a bike like this one. had Harleys and one goldwing. Looks fun

For the same price you can get a Aprilia Tuono rr
so you know what i paid for this bike?

I rly hope for 2022 they do a single like like they did with the MT09 with just 1 light fixture for high and low beams and running lights on the side….. but mechanically and audibly that bike is all you rly could ask for.
100% with everything you said, down to the 2022 having a single headlight
I’ve heard that some mt-10’s have had issues with the engine blowing up. There was also an engineering/motorcycle repair school in the UK that said the engine runs a bit hot from the factory so they fixed some things and retuned the bike so it would run cooler.
I love the ugliness, I think then need to make it uglier, 5 front lights or something. disjointed square and round lights. 😀

The (gasbar) is like the mt09, all of the sudden the tank is empty 😆
