As a first time rider I have put 11500 miles on my 2019 MT-07 that I bought back June 2019... I LOVE MY MT-07. I think its the best beginner bike for sure (obviously because its what I started on) and if you are looking to purchase your first bike, Look no further. I have put an SC project full exhaust on it and it has transformed the sound exponentially. My only cons I have about the bike are: 1. Top end is not very high... if you push it you can get up to 120mph... 2. linked to previous statement is that the bike redlines at abotu 10k rpms... kinda low to me but from what im told its common. 3. the rear brake is really squishy and almost non existent... however if you are using both front and rear breaks the rear does become noticeably helpful when decreasing from higher speeds. Those are the only things that I have really noticed as cons with all the seat time I have put on my MT-07 within the past 15 months.

If you like the look of the z650 more, just get that one. It's your first bike, you can always trade it in for something faster later if it isn't enough for you. But the z650 is a great bike.
Sit on both. I just got a 2020 MT07 a month ago. Was deciding between the Z650 and MT07. For me, it came down to seating position. MT07 feels more like you're on top of the bike, like a dirt bike or supermoto. Z650 feels more like you're in a cockpit, more sporty feel.
I test rode both before buying about a month ago - the z650 is a lovely, very smooth bike with great instruments, a slipper clutch etc: it feels very refined. It also feels very small: I'm a big lad and it felt like a much smaller bike - almost like a 125! The MT-07 had none of the Kawasaki's smoothness or refinement but was a lot more fun and felt a lot faster (I think actually they're both very similar). Had I been a bit smaller & lighter it would have been a 50/50 choice.
@@LColUK the mt-07 seems like quite the hoot lol. I'm looking to pickup an xsr700 myself sometime in the future. I prefer the comfier seat it has and even more relaxed seating position.
I have a 07, the Z650 it's also great but I would only recommend the Z if you are really short because it's really tiny exactly like the MT03 (300cc) I had as my first bike. If you are short or it's you very first bike the Z it's really confidence indusing, if not the 07 it's also compact but feels more spacious
you should compare the mt07 vs sv650. ik a lot of beginners out there are looking for a “step up” from their “slow” bikes. i know i was one of them. theres channels that have done the comparison. the only thing i didnt like is that the people who reviewed them, they are getting paid to do it and they’re not your average dood”no offense 😂”
why by a bike with 70bhp when you cant get one with over 100? glad i didnt go with the mt07 as my first bike. the mt09 is everything i thought it would be and more
It does. However, sometimes it’s nicer to control the brakes yourself when in good riding conditions. Hence why most bikes do or should have a way to activate and disable ABS.
Never rode either...But, I would go with the 09 just cuz I’m sure you would get very accustomed to the 07 eventually...Just saying...But nice looking and sounding bike...#YamFam 💪🔥💯

I'm in between the z650 and MT07 as my first bike I love the look of the z650 but the MT07 is faster i believe
Blacked out! Now this is a bike I could get used to!!
you should compare the mt07 vs sv650. ik a lot of beginners out there are looking for a “step up” from their “slow” bikes. i know i was one of them. theres channels that have done the comparison. the only thing i didnt like is that the people who reviewed them, they are getting paid to do it and they’re not your average dood”no offense 😂”
silver and yellow looks better imo
What’s the top speed
not much , a tiny bit over 120mph, basically a 50cc scooter
just get the mt09 you will grow out of the mt07 the mt09 will always put a smile on your face nasty 9
Go the MT09, unless you really want to really upgrade and go Triumph Street Triple 👍😉😘
He's already owned both of those bikes and prefers this FZ-07.
Key words: “ as long as you do your normal maintenance “... people dont
why by a bike with 70bhp when you cant get one with over 100? glad i didnt go with the mt07 as my first bike. the mt09 is everything i thought it would be and more
Completely different bikes and engines. Not just about an overall horsepower number
Didn't the previous models have LED headlights? They went from LED back to halogen?
You ride a FZ/MT-10 yet?
Id take the MT-07 over the MT-09 on sound alone 🤤
Come on..try without abs in the rain and gravel...having abs in any bike makes it more safer
It does. However, sometimes it’s nicer to control the brakes yourself when in good riding conditions. Hence why most bikes do or should have a way to activate and disable ABS.
abs makes you a rider with less skills, non abs teaches you the truth of grip and makes you have more refined control of your bike
Never rode either...But, I would go with the 09 just cuz I’m sure you would get very accustomed to the 07 eventually...Just saying...But nice looking and sounding bike...#YamFam 💪🔥💯
Just like you will get accustomed to 09 ....
This or a cbr 500r
mt07 all day!
Neither lol... Buy my 2015 Street triple R with 3,943 miles and every mod possible including quickshifter for 7k🤑😎👍🏻(its really For Sale lol)
I would love Yamaha even more if they made an MT-07 SP with a more appealing front end.
too bad its so ugly, 2020 no leds tft, headlight that looks like its from the early 2000s
If only the MT07 had the MT10 headlights. It looks like a transformer
RIP Fredo
Let someone else break it in for you then buy it
Headlight are among the ugliest in this range. Apart from that bike is good.
never mind the complete dogshit brakes and suspension the most important bits of any bike
MT 09 its just to mutch for you :)
I rode an MT09 for 3 years lol. That’s definitely not the problem
@@ShakeNBlake509 just a joke bro :)
*Always* *drop* *a* *like* 👍
Some one know hot it is to ride as a 6ft 5 person
I would not get this bike for someone your size. It has very soft suspension and you will feel cramped. I would advise the MT09 or MT10, better suspension and more room for taller riders
@@ShakeNBlake509 okay thanks
Oh Spokane
Mt10
