I’ve got a real soft spot for these. I detailed my 47606 the same way and gave it a repaint in unlined BR black when I was a teenager. I also remotored it with an Airfix 1001 5-pole motor. 50 years on it’s still a trooper!
I've heard those Airfix motors - when you can find one - are worth the effort in terms of upgraded slow speed performance and pulling power - is that right?
In one of my earlier comments, I commented about the magnets losing power when the armature is removed without a keeper. This is the kind of magnet I mentioned as a "bar magnet."
Watching this great video again Dan, these locos are so easy to work on and fun on the layout, thanks John
These little Jintys are so nice to see running. Great job Dan, even if it was just clean and spruce. Cheers, Jim l
Great wee restoration Dan. Lovely repaint too!

Great video again Dan, I've got a Triang Jinty with smoke also a Bachmann Jinty both fantastic runners, thanks for sharing, John

@@dj_efk yes makes a big difference. A lot quieter too. Not knocking the XO3/4 of course - still a great motor !
