@@PFBM86 I love watching Vinny, I really do, and also Joel to some degree, but they really don't have the best attention span sometimes. Though to be fair, I imagine giving engaging commentary *and* playing a game well live on stream is very difficult to do.

The combination of Wario's ass shaking and seeing the map screen say "Jiggle Jungle" is quite the scene.
Fun fact: The Bloomsday boss is called "Scumflower" in the PAL/EU version, which is a name I think Vinny would infinitely prefer for the boss.
The spritework I'm this game is so gorgeous it's driving me MAD. Wish my wii still worked so I could buy this game second hand :(

I honestly love this playthrough, it makes for great podcasting streams where he just talks about whatever, always enjoy streams like that

Haven't confirmed if Vinny's seen it yet, but hotcyder's latest video on Wario Land 3 was quite good; fascinating to see just how deeply the DNA of Metroid and Wario tangle together, even before Fusion piggybacked off WL4. No wonder Vinny likes this series so much!

@@fixedfunshow Strong agree. He siad during WL4 that 2 and didn't interest him because "You can't get hurt therefore it's too much of a baby game" and no not in his joking way he was serious, which means I don't think he knows how interesting those games are with the "you can't die' mechanic.

That part where Vinny narrowly missed the big garlic and died had me laughing my butt off I bet livechat was too, Vinny struggling on Bloomsday was funny as well, the fact that he needed to grind coins to buy the last map was surprising the game punishes you by making you go back and along the way try to get any treasures missed.
I love how he said "WarioWare Snap It" when there is a game called "WarioWare Snapped"

Broccoli rabe is amazing if ccoked right. Here in Italy it's usually called "cime di rapa" or "friarielli". One of my favourite pizzas is broccoli rabe and sausage... I can definitely see a kid not liking them though, especially if not blanched they can be very bitter.
I personally like the d-pad on the Wii remote, however I do have rather small hands and fingers so it is perfect for me, but I can definitely understand how for most people (who have bigger hands/fingers) it would be too small. I have the 8bitdo controller as well, and I LOVE it! I personally have not had any of the problems Vinny has described, aside from maybe 2 or 3 times getting the "constant rumbling" issue, but you just simply unplug and re-plug and fixed, so I don't consider that to be such a big deal.

I totally felt Vinny's frustration with the Bloomsday boss. That boss walled me every single playthrough until recently.

Just to add to or reformulate the question at 1:11:00, because Vinny goes out of his way to not consider some games as "platformers" in the question, sparking that whole discussion...
Would a better question in this case not be "What is your favorite 2D Platformer outside of mainline Mario games, wherein it is the platforming that is the main reason".
Because it would seem to me that the difference between how Vinny and others qualify "Platformers" in the question of "Good Platformers", in comparison to other chat members, is that whether a game is a platformer in genre or not, is irrelevant, as the question of "What is your favorite 2D platformer outside of mainline Mario" seems to invoke an inherent understanding in Vinny and others, that to pick a game as a favorite 2D Platformer, would inherently also mean doing it for the reasoning that it is a Platformer, not for other specific reasons.
Megaman, Castlevania, and Metroid, are all good games that happen to be Platformers, but if the question is on the 2D platforming as their main appeal, I could see someone discrediting them, and/or not consider them their main favorites when it comes to Platformers, even if they happen to be among their favorite games.
I was gonna make a joke and say "anyways, Metroid is still the correct choice in that case", but then I remembered that Donkey Kong Country games and Shovel Knight exists, which are games I like more as platformers than Metroid, especially Donkey Kong Country, even though I very much so enjoy Metroid as an actual 2D Platformer.

The expensive Switch Pro is so disappointing with that finicky d-pad. If they took the Wii U Pro and just jammed in the new rumble and gyro I'd be so happy, that one was perfect. As for 8BitDo I could have sworn their earlier stuff had fine d-pads, but I've heard their recent ones also have spotty d-pads that give bad inputs. Supposedly the d-pad in the Analogue Pocket is also by 8BitDo and it suffers from mistaken ups and downs just rocking it left and right. It was awful when I was testing Metroid Zero Mission on it.

I know this is a tiny bit random but regarding D-pad talk, I have to give it to Xbox.
The new D-pad on the Series w/e controllers is SOLID. Super tactile and the sorta odd bowl shape is actually brilliant with the raised cardinal directions. It looks floaty but isn't at all and is super planted.
It's possibly my fav out of a long lineup in my drawers, dating back to the NES Maxpad even.
It's just become my standard on PC and really anything now that they've started using both Xinput and BT with a Type C cable. Being official and for like >$60 at most stores it's been great.
If you DO consider one though, I can confirm that I had one stick start drifting on me like any other modern controller. Honestly, it's got to be the shit tier, lowest cost industry part they're all using.

Nintendo 64 and gba sp have my favourite d pads. The rest have awful d pads, to me. PS Vita has a nice d pad.

I'm not really sure how someone could call Wario Land Shake it "slow" of all things.
Compared to Mario and Donkey Kong, Wario is absolutely much slower paced, especially since the games are more focused on exploration and puzzle-platforming.
I think he's also comparing it to _Virtual Boy Wario Land_ and _Wario Land 4,_ who feel a little faster in many ways compared to Wario in this game
