love !! it's definitely something different for spain, at least compared to their other songs in the 21st century, and it's exciting to see them continue to try doing something new. i could definitely see this doing well in the televote especially with the older crowd (i don't know about ireland, but here in greece grandmas make up a good chunk of the voters haha!)
100% ok with you. I do not want to over hype myself since Benidorm Fest has not even happened yet but based on the quality of the studio cut, the artistry, ambition and emotion of it, this is so on another level. And it has that unique factor that can translate well for the ESC audience. Other Benidorm contenders that are loved by the Spanish public, like Nebulossa or Sofia Coll have the potential to do well at ESC but for something with real ESC winning potential it is only St Pedro.
Both the song and the music video are absolutely gorgeous. It's just wow. And holy f*k so much potential for an incredible performance! Fingers crossed for him.

I REALLY hope that every country won't go with an upbeat song to Eurovision, because we need certain songs to breathe. This is definitely one of them. I think this has winner potential to win Eurovision. Never has the same type of entry won twice in a row and this is such a huge contrast to "Tattoo" and "Cha Cha Cha." But we'll see what happens at Benidorm Fest 2024. I can't wait!

I think theres a fear that this will fair out the exact same way in the televote as Blanca Paloma if the running order goes against it, the songs around it are favourites or slower songs and on a less likely note after seeing this, if the staging isn't impactful enough. This would be a risk for Spain to send to esc and especially considering that imo Blanca Paloma did everything perfect for her performance and still got shafted by the televote, I would worry for this. I dont think its doing the same thing as Portugal 2017 (I dont speak Spanish so perhaps thats more ignorance on my part) but in terms of the quality of the song, for me it'd be the 3rd consecutive high quality Spain have sent to ESC.
I think st Pedro is not close to Blanca Paloma in terms of riskyness. Like with a dancy song which is safe, I don't think they can get a very decent result. The song has a nice melody and a soulful singer and this could get the appreciation by the juries and the televote too in the sea of louder songs. This can stand out. I want something new from them.

I can see that it is a classy song with cinematographic video. I just miss what makes it special to win Eurovision. All recent winners have had a special message, except Tattoo but that was Loreen so the one exception.

How I see it, is that this kind of song has a real potential to create a very unique moment on the Eurovision stage. It will stand out so much in a positive way that both people and jury will just madly vote for it. Exactly what happened to Amar Pelos Dois, even though it wasn't necessarily a favourite before the contest. Just this magic worked exactly right on that night. One can already feel that there IS something more in Dos Extraños than in any other "slow and nice" song. The quality that it brings in its subtle way is something else. This has the same potential, very much so, IMO.

Sorry to say, this one's not even in my top 10 of the 16 semi-finalists for Benidorm Fest. My favourite's between Remitente and Caliente. It's a strong selection for Spain, so they should have a decent entry, whichever they choose.

The televote has pretty bad taste (not trying to be elitist or anything) and would never go for this. Similarly, it doesn’t seem like a song the jury would like either. It’s banking entirely on creating a vibe, which is possible, but it could also backfire. Still, I’d rather have this great song in the final even if it comes bottom 5.
