Welcome to my newest life update.. I bought my very first apartment, a cosy little studio, in my home, Dubai! 🏡🥰 Put together with love, stay tuned for link if you'd like to stay here, it will be rented short term! 🗓️
Over the past six months I’ve been searching and searching, and finally found the place that suited my needs (and budget!) I have learnt so much and I’m excited to keep learning through this process. 👏🏼❤️

Hi Viv! Congratulations on your new home! Now that you are a property owner you might also want to consider investing in a few simple tools to keep basic maintenance costs down. A few screwdrivers and hex keys, spanners etc. The toilet roll holder that was a nightmare; usually there is a small grub screw that fixes the holder into place, you can unscrew this with the appropriately sized allen key and slide off the holder, and there will be a big screw with wall plug underneath. This can be easily undone by with screwdriver or with an impact driver that has the right bit attached. If you need to drill into the tiles to mount the new holder or any other stuff in the future, always make sure you use a tile specific or masonary bit to do this, and have the drill set to the lowest speed to avoid cracking it. I believe having property in Dubai is an excellent idea as it secures residency beyond employment, and with so much immigration into the UAE, a solid long term investment! You are very smart to spend your money on this, and very sensible to take refurbishment one step at a time; hope all goes well and to plan!

Buy yourself a two bedroom apartment next time. More space. You can easily host your parents for extended time when they come visit you in Dubai. Also a two bedroom apartment has a huge potential for children you may have in the future.

So, so beautiful and cosy, congratulations on a wonderful job, Viv! 😊 🌸 The umbrella and yoga mat were such nice touches. Having a washing machine available is great - I wonder if there’s also a drying rack, clothes iron and an ironing board? I’m always hoping to find those wherever I go.

I own apartments. Say goodbye to anything you put in the apartment, because it will eventually get stolen, broken or worn out. It's all just stuff that makes the place rentable. Don't get attached to anything that you turn over to other people to use.

Definitely not. It’s actually super affordable compared to property in Australia (for example). But still for me this was a huge purchase, a lot of thought, saving, and time went into it ☺️
Why would you want to live in Dubai? It’s a soulless desert city. After you get past certain age, I heard they will fire the older flight attendant or won’t renew their contract and hire the younger ones. Then what would you do? You should have bought a condo where your from instead.
You have to be full of $$$$$$ to live in Dubai, it’s ridiculous! Not impressed!!
I’m certainly not full of $$$, and I worked really hard to get where I am ☺️
