Saving an Abandoned Craftsman Rototiller (917.293301)

A few years ago I picked up an old abandoned Craftsman 917.293301 rototiller on Facebook marketplace for $40, and although it didnt end up being the "bargain" fixer upper I thought it would be, in this video I show you t TLC I had to put into it to get it into working order.

Thanks for your video. I just purchased one of these off Mplace. Are you still liking the tiller? I hope I like mine...I paid a lot more than you did but still should be a good investment. I like the "self propelled" feature very much so! Lol

I love it, it works great ... until this year.
I pulled up a large rock and broke something in the transmission case ...
There will be a video over the winter of tearing it down to see what broke and if I can fix it

@TwoFourSevenDIY think it broke one of the internal chains? It has 2 size 41 the best I remember.

Could be. If I put it in "Till" the tines spin but it doesn't move forward, and Drive and Reverse also do nothing, in neutral it's locked up and won't roll either. So somethings not happy in there.

@TwoFourSevenDIY i bet a chain has broken or came off and hanging up . Sounds like the other chain for tines is on. Let me know once you get to it if the chains were the issue. Thanks
