I'm a mountain biker from Brazil, our challenges are a little different, we have several mountains to climb in terrible road conditions, it's easy to put 1,500 elevation gains in just 60 kilometers.
No mate, with the cost of a decent bike, all the upgrades, accessories, apparels, etc you can visit your favourite therapist lifetime! Yet we idiots choose the bike! 😂
@@ItsMaxMann haha yeah I feel like that after a big one too, but for me thats only about 80km, must be the body recovering and coming back even stronger!
In Taiwan we have multiple events that ride from the north to south. I did the most entry level one which is 360km/1000m climb and averaged 31.5km/h. About to do a 520km in Nov. But I think I will be happy just to average 26-27 for that one. There are also more extreme events like 600km, or even ones that are 500km+ but with 5000m+ climbs. Those are named the Crazy series.
It’s a good question, gym used to be my main focus and I definitely carry muscle in my upper body. I would say that if you fuel on rides, continue to weight train in the gym and eat enough calories you won’t lose muscle tone. However, if you did a 300k ride every weekend I’d say you’d have no arm mass left 😂
For the first 100 we did take turns, doing about 10 ks each then rolling off. Rest of the ride only a few of us towed. Not great structure for this ride as people fell behind etc and some had to go at their own pace in sections.
@@ItsMaxMann when I ride I just get into bike mode and go. It's that easy. I have been by twice because if lazy, uneducated, unhealthy people driving or riding an Ebike. They can't do it and they don't want anybody else doing it either.
@@ItsMaxMann every bike shop I go in to service my bike either they over charge me, fail at repairing my bike, and the females are just rude and mean. They can't do it and they don't want anybody else doing it. They call cyclist, Peddle files. I just enjoy exercising and the sound of my heart beating.
Well done. Outstanding speed, great to finish in daylight
Thanks mate, helps when you start before the suns up 😂
Respect bro 👊 300 k is not joke

Awesome mate! Welcome from Brazil! We have areas that have more elevation, but 1500 in 60ks is a lot!
Dude insane ride and great video!
Thanks Legend!
so its true, cycling is cheaper than therapy
I think I need therapy after this though 😂

What bike computer are you running bro?
Garmin 530 edge does the job well
Do you ever worry about losing muscle tone in your arms and upper body when doing long rides?

Any structure in your ride? Like a pace line, sharing the work load?

what bike do you use?
@@sigmaconfig9767 I have a Wilier Filante SLR, more of a racing bike definitely not setup for climbing haha
I spent 12 hours riding, breaks every 4 hours for five weeks. Don't complain.
Impressive Anneliese! Don’t remember complaining, I chose to do this ride 👍🏻
