  • Installing a simple battery post cut off isolator switch with my review. I’ve installed this switch on a 1947 Riley RMA.
WARNING!!! NEVER connect your automotive battery disconnect switch to the POSITIVE terminal of your battery. This can be very dangerous. (This applies to Negative earth vehicles. Some older vehicle, pre 1970s may be Positive earth. In this instance the isolator would be installed on the Positive terminal)
You can purchase one of these isolator cut off switch here:
➡ Battery post isolator switch (straight type): ebay.us/RSOal0
➡ Battery post isolator switch (90 degree type): ebay.us/FvMmvQ
➡ Battery post isolator switch (side post type): ebay.us/GylW5E
The particular clamp I used is rated:
    125A CONTINUOUS
    CRANK RATE 500A
    FITS 6V, 12V & 24V BATTERIES
    ➡ Replacement Service Booklet: ebay.us/2B6Aqd

    My review:
    Pros
~ Simple economical way of isolating a battery
~ Very easy to install with no special tools required
    ~ Quick to install
~ Felt confident enough to install on my classic car
    Cons
~ No substitute for a key switch type isolator. But they are much more difficult to install.
~ Personally I would want something a bit heavier for a 24v system installed on a truck. But for cars they seem up to the job.

Thanks for watching this video. Batteries are dangerous if certain precautions aren't taken. Please check out this battery install video with more information. th-cam.com/video/QhY8wYQ0xZc/w-d-xo.html

This is nice idea! How much amp can this pass? Does the starter seems weaker with it?

Hi I’ve just checked they are rated as follows:
      125A CONTINUOUS
      CRANK RATE 500A
      FITS 6V, 12V & 24V BATTERIES
Personally I would want something a bit heavier for a 24v system installed on a truck. But for cars they seem fully up to the job. Hope this helps. 😊👍

Hi there. I've just installed one of these, however when I untighten the knob (and completely remove it even) the power is still connected. I tested by leaving the lights on and unscrewing and the lights still remained on. Are you able to help me troubleshoot the problem please?

@@chanelawhina7523The white plastic show in the video between the two parts provides the isolation when the screw is removed. Check it is intact, on the negative terminal and the battery has no other leads connected above the isolator to the negative/chassis ground terminal.
