Need for Speed: Underground 2 is a cross-platform racing video game and the eighth installment in the popular Need for Speed driving game series published and developed by Electronic Arts. Released in 2004, it is the direct sequel to Need for Speed: Underground, and is part of the Need for Speed series, available on Microsoft Windows, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS and Mobiles. Like its predecessor, it was also commercially successful, and sold eleven million copies worldwide.
The game entails tuning cars for street races, resuming the Need for Speed: Underground storyline. Need for Speed: Underground 2 provides several new features, such as a broader customization, new methods of selecting races, the "explore" mode (just driving around freely, like the Midnight Club series, in a large city known as "Bayview"). The City Center was based on Philadelphia, Beacon Hill was based on Beverly Hills and Coal Harbor was based on Camden, New Jersey, and Bayview as a whole is a microcosm of the west coast of the United States. Underground 2 also introduces several SUVs, which could be customized as extensively as other Underground 2 vehicles and used to race against other SUV racers. Brooke Burke is the voice of Rachel Teller, the person who guides the player throughout the game.

I use carbon airforce wing instead of normal wing with black color, so the style point is higher and i can use it in the final race (low style points sometimes didn't allow you to do the last race)

I always aim to re-create the player's R34 while playing through the career mode, it's like re-building the legend that brought the player to where he is.
Before the BMW M3 GTR it was that R34 that made the player a legendary racer.
I did the same. :)
But the underground player and most wanted carbon player are not the same.

@@dontknow_9766 It does make sense. Right after the tragic race in Carbon where the Player had to take Darius' Supra to flee Palmont, he might have ditched it on the way to Olympic City and that's where Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted happened.

The best part of Caleb beating Player Cutscene is that NOBODY saw that Cutscene cause the AI for Caleb is TERRIBLE.

There's a glitch in the game later on, that is a message from Rachel that demands you return her car. The only way to stop that message from appearing very late in the game is to use her car until she cuts you off from racing.

Prob brcause the final race is really easy.
It's one of the very very few games where you can do a PIT maneuver and the race is all yours.
Fetch yourself your favorite ride, get to Caleb's back, spin his GTO and you are done.
Once, I got 30 seconds ahead of him in my Impreza. Yup, the green 30:0 showing at least three times throughout the final race.
Let me tell you this is literally the hidden BAD ENDING of this game why i called hidden because not everyone ever see it, how to get this ending is simple but like i said not everyone ever do it, you just should be LOST at final duel againts Caleb and well this ending appeared

I had no unique parts, didn't use NOS at all, took the longest route at every corner, played on hard difficulty, drove at half throttle the entire time and I still had to physically stop and wait for him to catch up because he was like ~15 seconds behind at the start of lap 5

6:20 How did no one ever discuss the damage model in this cutscene?? I could've sworn either NFSU1 or 2 had some kind of damage model, but I could never pinpoint exactly where I had seen it.
Flying mirrors, glass flying everywhere, rear windshield permanently broken - how and why did no one ever talk about this feature?
I understand why it wasn't included - car manufacturers won't like to see their cars broken in a game (bad publicity), but still, I've searched all over for "NFSU 2 Damage Model" and nothing discussing this unused feature ever came up.
Unless I was just looking in the wrong places.

Actually you can also see that damage model (at least the broken windshields) whenever you crashed hard enough into another car to trigger the action shot.

You gotta be real bad at the game to lose the final race against Caleb lmao, first time I raced against him I took +30 seconds of advantage in the first lap and he wasn't able to recover... This was at hard difficulty too...

Bought the original xbox version of the game and played on the 360 with backwads compatibility all the cutscenes are glitched and you can’t even understand what they’re saying I finished the game yesterday without understanding the story so this is my first time really watching the cutscenes even though I finished the game

I would be soooo thrilled if EA GAMES would remaster the game for current game consoles like PlayStation and Xbox or PC. Also it would be awesome if EA could release the soundtrack on Apple Music including the cutscenes music. This game was my childhood and would pick this over any other racing game.

I hated drag racing with all my heart.If the engine didn't blow out you hit something accidentally and in both cases you're done. but drifting was cool as i always was lightyears ahead of others.they had a few thousand points,i had hundreds of thousands.
Of all the antagonists, I liked Razor and Eddie the most. They had some similarities and I really wished that we could see a race between the two of them. Darius from Carbon was kind of cool as well, but not near as Razor and Eddie. That Caleb from Underground 2 never really impressed me as he sucked in every way :S
Ngl imagine a NFS game where Darius, Eddie, & Razor teamed up to try and take their revenge on the player (or Ryan Cooper). With Cross and his old partner coming into the fold to take the bounties that all of them have accumulated again over time and finally send the player n’ company to prison for the rest of their lives🤔

Because the cutscene directors couldn't get their hands on an R34? Remember, the cutscenes were done in 2004, when even the Skyline R34 was illegal in Canada.
