    This looks like a decent option slotted between just a jacket and going with an airbag system. Plus it can solve the issue of back protectors each manufacturer leaves out from their jackets.

      They did an excellent job with this vest. You could use this on the track or the street for sure. - Van

    This looks like a great option. I wish airbag options were this slim, but maybe someday. My Tech Air 5 vest is great, but just a tad bulky and heavy.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The airbags do add some bulk for sure. It did not take me long to adapt to it and I feel it is more than worth and inconvenience given the additional safety. - Van

    Those waist bands seem able to hold soft hip protectors from any brand in place nicely, as the Alpine KR-3 for added protection.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว

      The waist band sits a little high to hold hip protection IMO. The KR3 comes with some protectors that cover the kidney area. This is another excellent piece of protection from Alpinestars. - Van

    Got mine from you last week and wore it all weekend racing minis. Barely noticed it was there when wearing it and could feel the air moving through the armor even at kart track speeds on a Grom. Should be great when it's hot down here in Texas this summer. Thanks for the great review and support.

      hi Sloan, how was its sizing and fit? did you choose by size chart? thanks

    • @swfcpilot
      @swfcpilot ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, forgot to come back and answer... Per the chart and waist size I was a Large but I decided to step up to XL so it wouldn't be TOO snug. However after wearing it I probably could have stayed with Large as the material is very stretchy. Overall I like it. It's getting up around 100 degrees at home and the garment doesn't appear to be adding any heat over a regular back protector and chest armor since all the armor is so open structure. However I HAVE tried to go out on track without zipping up my leathers as this vest feels like my suit is already zipped up!

    Looks like a very good evolution of the Alpinestars Track Vest 2. Too bad the belt isn't removable.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to remove the belt you would need to cut it off. For many this would be a good option as long as the vest fits well enough. - Van

    Interesting review, nice protection vest. The back protector provides full-length protection coverage. Chest Protector level 2 is a very good thing.
    But what size to choose - 172cm, 71kg, chest 101cm, waist 91cm. I wear jackets size 50. Here the sizes are slightly different
    if you could help me out with sizing? Thank you for your help.

    Could this be worn above clothing (not under a jacket or anything)? Or would that risk the fabric tearing in case of a slide?
    I’m trying to find something with chest protection but for a busty woman… can’t seem to find anything that is comfortable in the front.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You could wear it over but as you noted the fabric is not designed to slide on the ground like a jacket. As for the armor in the chest your best option is to use an Alpinestars jacket with the chest inserts and zip up. - Van

    Just got my first suit. went with a size 54 as 52 felt a bit too tight for comfort. The 54 feels great and give my thighs more space. Upper body feels great ...until i put on a back protector and with the aero hump on the back plus the back protector right under it it gets quite uncomfortable. Every where on the suit feels like the perfect size until i get that back protector on. Any recommendations? Any bigger of a suit it seems like other regions will be too big.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the suit is perfect before the back protector I would expect the suit to stretch enough to get you the same feel with the back protector after it breaks in. - Van

    Wondering how is back side thickness compared to Dainese version.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not seen the Dainese piece but can tell you this is low profile for a Level 2 certified piece. Max tried a couple of jackets on with this and it had very little influence on how the jacket fit him. - Van

    For track days, NUCLEON KR-3 or NUCLEON FLEX PRO? I currently own an Alpinestars NUCLEON KR-3, but I've put on some weight recently and it's becoming more challenging to wear my 1 pc leather jacket. The snug leather jacket pulls up the back protector, making it difficult to keep it in the right position, even getting close to touching the base of my neck. Should I switch to NUCLEON FLEX PRO?

      @@Canpwr after trying nucleon flex at a local store I ended up purchasing the Kr-1 + kr-c. Nucleon Flex's sizing wasn't a good fit for my body type. kr1+c offered the chest tightening that I needed.
      I'd say don't worry about the back plate length, go with the chest size, it's more important to have the back and chest plate fit to your body.
