    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would suggest using a wet soapy rag to clean followed by a wet rag to rinse then line dry. You could also spray a little Lysol or something similar on it if you like. - Van

    I'll buy an A* back protector which will be okey with A* kr-c chest protector.
    Actually my main purpose is lower back coverage, because I injured my L4-L5 (lumbar vertebreas) 2 times (1 crash 1 lifting).
    But can't decide between Kr1, Kr1cell, Kr3. And have 2 question marks.
    1- Size chart suggests M, but I want full coverage on lowerback. So I wonder any problem occur if I size up to L (like it stretchs to the helmet)
    2- Cell is new technology, new is always better? Kr1 2015, Kr3 2017, Kr1cell 2019. I can't decide how much I want kidney protector but protection on Back&Lower back is important me, so I can give up about it if Kr1Cell is best about protection.

      The size large will use a larger shell than the medium. Here is a link to the size chart which will show which size uses which shell: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/product_images/product_pdf/Alpinestars-Nucleon-Back-Protector-Size-Chart.pdf

    Honest opinion, my last kr1(old model black on colour) grew legs. Looking to replace. Don't see me using the kidney protection at all. With that being said, Is the kr3 spine protection that much more improved over the newer kr1?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      IMO the biggest difference between them will be the comfort the KR3 offers. This is my favorite back protector on the market at this time. - Van

    Hey Van,
    Would a back protector work as intended even without using under a jacket?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would help for sure but it will be much more effective under a suit or a jacket. The jacket or suit will help to hold the protector in place and protect you from abrasion. - Van

    I'm in the market for a back protector and am looking at this one. But the tech air 5 is interesting as well. Is the tech air 5 worth the extra money? Especially as it costs about 200 each 2 years as well

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Tech Air 5 is 100% worth the extra expense. The protection it offers is way beyond a standard back protector. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear That's what I was thinking, though I did read about one going off when the guy was standing next to his motorcycle. That's a scary thought. Made me wonder if the tech is a bit too new.

    Would this fit slimly under a jersey? Trying to use this for downhill mountain biking and quite honestly can't find any good level 2 back protector with rib protection as well, our jerseys are basically the same as motocross jerseys for a point of reference.

    • @albertptran

    • @sportbiketrackgear

      Yes it is totally worth it. The level of protection this offers as compared to the D3O slip in piece is huge. • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No they are only available with the KR3. That said the KR3 is 100% worth the extra money spent on it over the KR1 if you can swing it. This is a piece of gear you will be able to ride in for many years before you need to replace it. • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is the best back protector in the Alpinestars line, possibly the best one in the industry at this time. You can wear this under a jacket if you prefer a full protector to an insert in the pocket of the jacket. The protection will be much better with this as compared to the insert. - Van

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are very different products IMO. The most protection is available with the Tech-Air (chest, back and shoulders) and it costs $1150 as compared to the KR-3 that comes in at $189 with high level protection for the back only. There is also a convenience factor which for sure favors the KR-3. It requires more effort to wear the Tech-Air. - Brian Van
