    Forging in the rain is so relaxing. Like the touchmark as well.

      What was with adding water to the charcoal am I missing something?

    • @islandblacksmith
      @islandblacksmith  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yep, the charcoal was at the back and the watering was done at the front, before putting the charcoal in and lighting it...the forge floor is made of fine charcoal and is well-watered before lighting to keep it from burning up...here's an article with plenty of inside info on swordsmith forges if you would like to research further: islandblacksmith.ca/2017/01/building-traditional-swordsmith-forge/

      Crossed Heart Forge - islandblacksmith good day sir. I was wondering if you could demonstrate the less commonly used lacquered wisteria cord wrapping. I have found research on it has been difficult, and procuring the right materials is tough as well. Despite this maybe in the future you could showcase it.

    When will you make a full video of forging sword?

  • @leoszes

    the new shop is amazing!
    I think that alone would make for a good video, just showing us around it.
    welcome back to the forge :D
    ....wish I could say the same, currently working on my togi-dai and other prep work.

    Why wet your charcoal like that?

    • @timpeel-wickstrom5739
      @timpeel-wickstrom5739 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You wet the charcoal fines at the bottom of the forge to prevent it from burning up too quickly while working.
