Thank you SO MUCH for bringing back LOW & HIGH levels in the Red Auxillary mode. I have that feature on my Gen1 NU25 that I use ALL THE TIME. I have not upgraded since my NU25 because that feature isn't on any of the smaller form factor headlamps... until now! I will now be upgrading! 😉
Awesome Headlamp Thanks for the review with detailed explanations. I have NU25 and been satisfied with its usability and performance Now I'm convinced to get NU27
This is pretty cool. I have a 30hour race and this might be a good addition to my belt. Already using the NU43 with a cable to the NU10000 and that has plenty of light but adding this with the adapter to my belt would be interesting to try. Good shots in the spec section, that is useful to see the ground and color temp comparisons.
WOW. It's such a nice and cool design! I was thinking about UT27 but NU27 has more color options and also ultra low light which UT27 doesn't have. It's a shame that the battery capacity is only 850 mAh. I would expect a capacity of 1000 mAh. The new UT27 has up to 1500 mAh and still maintains a low weight. It shines well and lasts a long time. The endurance for one charge with the NU27 is the limit for me to buy or not. 600 lumens is nice, but only in turbo mode, so only for a few seconds (time is not given). Then there is the high mode with 400 lumens but only for 3 hours, which is not enough time for a long camping evening. The endurance of medium mode is fine, but the lumens are no longer so sufficient and are approaching the level of the NU11 that I own. Capacity of NU11 (600 mAh) and NU17 (850 mAh) is not so big and NU11 is "baby" and NU27 is headlamp. Even so, a great video and a great headlamp that I will think about. Once again, you managed to improve something and move forward.
I like to see this, but I will wait till you release a more powerful unit like the HC65 UHE with the same color temp features. I'm primarily going to use it for winter use as there's no streetlights where I live so it gets very dark during that season, and I just would like to have 3000 Kelvin color temp instead of icey cool white. So, flood light at 3000 Kelvin is what I feel would serve a better purpose for winter because both of them will help your eyes relax and gain a better perspective. Most people don't need the most extreme reach. It's your immediate surroundings that will be the most important, and thus most lights should be flood lights. The HU2000 would be a good contender to have multi color temps to be frank.
Thanks for review! I am seriously thinking about buying a Nitecore NU27 for trail run. But I'm concerned about its operating time from the built-in battery. In your opinion, is it possible to use additional batteries with it ("Nitecore Carbon Battery 6K Kit" or "Power Bank Nitecore 18650 Extension Battery Case") ?
not the 1st in industry, other brand make headlamp and lanterns with variable temperature. but i ordered the Arctic version from Ali, i dont trust Amazon.
