Hey thank you for this! Ive been out there all day tryn to figure out what to do, i put my 24v in my 99 f250 and kit doesn't supply any info on the wiring lol i figured i could make it run stand alone but confusing with all the wires from the dodge, again thank you
I swapped a 12 valve into a 93 Chevy years ago. Truck is still going strong. I recently acquired 07 Dodge with. 6.7 as a doner with at transmission. I always thought it should be possible to power the ecm. I’m assuming the transmission is controlled either by the bcm or another computer. If you have any sources or information I could find I would appreciate. I would be happy to share some information on some of the projects I done.
I have a Ford excursion with a V-10 in it I just found a 2001 Dodge ram with the 24 valve 330,000 miles for $6,500.00 Really considering buying it and making the swap The brakes had me concerned Not sure what it’s gonna take to switch it over to hydroboost
Ok I hope u get this I’m pulling motor and trans out of 2000 dodge 24 valve truck to put in a 63 unibody if I did this will the transmission shift without the speed sensor hooked up to the original rear end? Can I bypass the speed sensor? Thank you
I did stand alone, so my 24v is running on ecm only. I’m using a stand alone controller running the 47re, I believe if you use your pcm from dodge you need a speed sensor, not only for trans but 2000 and newer autos have torque management which limits engine to 2000rpm, I am running a BD diesel top speed eliminator hooked to end of engine harness to gain full rpm. I am also able to run a quadzilla tuner
@@adamcowtan6758 hey man, thanks for the video. Swapping a 24v in a cadillac. I was worried about quadzilla not working without a PCM. So,, you had no issue hooking up a quadzilla with the swap? Thanks again.
@@adamcowtan6758 not too sure if i'll get a response from you, but i've read that they'll only rev up to 1500 rpm with just the ecm on the block. With the way you wired it and with the diagram you posted, will the engine rev fully with most of it's power? looking to swap into a 99 Dakota with a nv5600 tranny. I just need the engine to idle, and rev fully like it should. Any tips?
@@isaiahg.richards8361 yes it will only rev to 1500 unless you hook up a speed sensor or have a way to trick it. I used a top speed eliminator from BD diesel for a 2002 and have full rpm. I’m also running a quadrille tuner with no issues
Is it hitting a certain rpm and not going past? If so you need a top speed eliminator from BD diesel, tricks the ecm to rid it of torque management. Also a faulty map sensor will make it seem gutless but will run fine.
@@adamcowtan6758 it will Rev all the way, it just seems like it doesn't have the power it used to. I have another 2001 dodge truck with the same power train set up. The only difference is my squarebody truck has 410 axles and the 2001 dodge has 355. I would think, if it were running correctly, Id feel the acceleration with the 410s more than I would with the 355s. Am I off base there?
4 power and 1 ground so basically power to each cylinder and done ! Pretty easy then it's just the starter and that's it ! That's easier than an old muscle car from what I'm seeing its a whole lot more straight forward than my 99 with 6.5 detroit diesel thats a maze of wires ! It's why the pump has a mind of its own and keeps going bonkers
Planning on doing this soon with my 78 ford. Thank you.
Iam currently putting a 24v in my 68 f250

I need all the info bud 😭, I’m trying to do this as well. I rebuilt a 5.3 now I want to do this swap as well 🥹
You link isn’t working. Any additional information on where to find the diagram?
That’s is strange but yes it’s no longer working, Tex star international is the website, the diagram may still be up there unless they removed it
What did you do for the brakes did you do a vacuum pump or was your truck already Power boost
I got rid of the vacuum booster and installed a Chevy hydroboost it hooks right up to the dodge power steering pump

Should be pretty simple, just have to find a power stroke hydroboost I’m sure it would work fine in the v-10 chassis
Sweet was it a big job changing that out and what do you think of that motor having 330,000 miles
Do you need the pcm for it to run? Clearly need ecm?
This is ecm only no pcm, you can wire your pcm in if you wish to have your obd2 port and to shift a 47re

Where did you get the mounts and whatnot?
I built my own mounts. But check out www.adventurevehicles.com they have swap mounts and whatnot
what motor mounts did you use for the swap ?????
I built my own
Do you make standalone for sale?
are able to keep odo2 port?

How many wire you used
I am uploading a video right now on it

It is running on the ecm only no pcm.

could you show which wires you used

Can you still use the OBD2 port
Yes if you choose to wire it up but it’s limited with what it can do I believe I can still run a tuner that is chip like under the hood

I wired mine the same way and I have no throttle response but it will idle
Something is messed with the harness or possibly your vp is bad mine runs as it should, you used the diagram I linked?
