- Hi Ko - travelers! We are the leader of sustainable tourism in Korea, Inside Korea Travel!
In the previous video, we introduced the traditional fishing method of Namhae-eup which is 'Jukbangyeom'(bamboo trap fishing). This time, we prepared a video to show you what kind of dishes you can make with anchovies and eel caught with Jukbangyeom. Koreans make broth, salted fish, and side dishes with anchovies but there is a dish named 'Anchovy Ssambap'(Leaf wraps and rice) in Namhae-eup. You can probably see this food a lot if you visit villages in the South Sea of Korea. But you can only taste anchovy ssambap caught with Jukbangyeom here in Namhae-eup.
I had anchovy ssambap and seasoned anchovy sashimi for lunch. As you can see, the red foods... look super spicy, but it's not that spicy and it tastes better if you eat it with wraps, various side dishes, and rice. In the evening, I ate an eel dish caught with Jukbangyeom. It was a hard day because we visited so many places such as the clam digging experience, daraengi village tracking, and Jukbangyeom experience center. Koreans eat eel food to charge them up. The grilled eel hot pot was really hot, but it tastes really good if you dip it in the sauce with ginger.
We will introduce Korean local food throughout the video!
