Many commenters forget that it's a MIDI istrument (with Bluetooth), so you can connect it to serious synths with endless possibilities via the Bluetooth connection, among others.... I would pick it up if I had the money.
Exactly why I am thinking of buying it. Looks like a good controller for my soft synths that would work even for my iPad synths. Might just save up for a Moog Grandmother though.
I have a bad back, and although this isn;t exactly a pro level ax, I love how small and light it is...and to go to a blues open mic --especially when there's no room for a stand and chair--, this would be a fun alternative.... except there's no friggin organ sounds....lol.....
Looks and sounds like something that would wind up at the goodwill store in no time . Box, batteries, wall plug adapter, instruction book , everything ! WOW ! LOOK ! THIS THING LOOKS BRAND NEW !!!
i wouldnt go as far as saying it sounds like a toy but its not great either definitely not the worst i heard but i like the small body of the instrument. thats a plus for me
Soudip Monster I never screwed up too much with the presets, and honestly I don’t know where to get more patches. Btw the included preset still sound great
do they have a "vanilla" controller version of this? bread n butter sounds are nice, but I'd rather just have a straight-up slimmed down midi controller--- battery powered, with DIN

I love the sonogenic by Yamaha keytar I should put it in the dj room in the basement of my new house I will make a windows 98 shutdown chime on a do piano by Yamaha
Seems like it would be much better using iOS’s SampleTank but the internal sounds are awful. I’m disappointed in Yamaha... the could have added some nice sounds. Yamaha! Contact me and I’ll do a review as a pro keytar controller!!!
it looks so beautiful but sound is not rich as compared yamaha produce like sx900 keyboard which is i am using befire this i have used s910 s950 s970 s975 keyboards in those keyboards guitar quality is so so so good . they should give more good quality of guitar sound because keytar lovers use to play organ bass and lead guitar and synth sounds mostly . so all these sounds must be be rich like AX synth roland AX edge or yamaha SX 900 or minimum S975 s970 and arpiggeos function and Some of styles like RNB HIP hop balled reggae, club dance, house funck, must be adedd in rythem section .... i love to buy this keytar but only the issue is sound is little childish as compared AX synth ... 😢

It's a toy! with only 3 octaves, the keys are so small. It should cost only $50 just to use it as midi controller cause the sounds are worst than Santa's.
Well... As for the child maybe it`s cool, but not for even home enthusiast like me)) YAMAHA! For whom THIS ??))P.S. Vocaloid keytar is WAY better!! Really!
just curious... how is the vocaloid better? this is the same design, and doesn't it have more or less the same sounds but is just missing the robot singing feature?
I really dont like this guy. Took over promos for Yamaha too, and there is always something that makes mr not believe him. But he can play piano, I give him that. This keytar... Meeeh
I'm sorry, but this seems incredibly disappointing. It almost sounds like a toy, which would be excusable if it cost $100 or less. Also surprised at the lack of sounds. No overdriven guitar sound? Or at least have overdrive as an effect? No organs? Even the strap seems short, like it's made for a child.

Si yo igual queria sonido de organo que mal por eso jaja, queria algo estilo gothic iglesia.

This reminds me of something.
It sounds familiar to me
Honestly, i don't know Rick
reminds me of corn for some reason...
me too...but I dont know what...
I have the Vocaloid version of this keytar and it's really cool. This fills a nice gap in the keytar market.
the vocaloid keytar is much better than this. too much changed
The gap of no real key velocity?
Whats better on the vocaloid?
I'd snap this up for $150 in a second, but once again (like the Refaces) Yamaha priced themselves out of the market for me.
@polezii oh shut up. a keytar with jam mode as its main selling feature is not worth the price
Me encanta este keytar aqui van los pro:

I like the sounds. Very Roland Soundcanvas-like and I like that aesthetic
Best demo I've seen of this instrument yet! I like the synth sounds!
@2:43 Seinfield sounds wack 😂
i wouldnt go as far as saying it sounds like a toy but its not great either
definitely not the worst i heard
but i like the small body of the instrument. thats a plus for me
That electric piano sounds straight from PSR S950.
I wish they would put all of these sounds in the yamaha piaggero.
Agree
We should buy it😊👍
muchas gracias.
they got the perfect demonstrator for a toy ... Yamaha. Why have you done this
What about organ sounds?
KORG RK-100S and Roland Lucina are the only definitive keytars with built-in sounds
Can you help me with some more interesting patches for rk100s
Soudip Monster I never screwed up too much with the presets, and honestly I don’t know where to get more patches. Btw the included preset still sound great
This keytar sounds like a toy.. Yamaha, please hmu asap
The demonstrator does his best! But the product surely let's down :(
Is there a way to store Chorus and Reverb level?
Every time I turn off the keyboard or I change the instrument I loose Chorus and Reverb values.
do they have a "vanilla" controller version of this? bread n butter sounds are nice, but I'd rather just have a straight-up slimmed down midi controller--- battery powered, with DIN
Nobody:
Seinfield Knock Off: 🥴
Pink and the keytar cat disapproves
Sounds cheesy like the old shs series from 30 years ago
And the sh10 had more sounds and a rhythm section.
Feel kinda sorry for the guy.
Why? He is rocking that keytar
Why?
Me too lol

Anyone know the song he was playing for the electric guitar? It sounds so familiar but i cant put a name on it.
Benjamin Placide dancing queen I think
If you mean the “jazz guitar” sound then that’s Autumn Leaves
Sounds like a 70s toy.
Sounds like literally any modern keyboard to me.

Not quite, its designed to be played like a guitar, hence the handle with all the features.

That`s it. VKB-100 is just unusual instrument with those robot phrases. And yes - white with black looks more stylish for this design.

The Alesis is a midi controller, this is an actual instrument.
@@CountDoucheula The Yamaha has MIDI out so you can use it as a MIDI controller too.
