    What a journey it has been! No offense meant to some but I'm really selective with their street foods. I used to live in Hanoi for almost a year and I saw foods being handled with their bare hands and some glasses they don't really wash after being used for drinking by a customer.See you again Vietnam on Wednesday.But I have a feeling that your next country to visit is here in the Philippines hahaha. For sure , if you are travelling on a budget , you should expect some dirty services . Never eat street foods . Go to decent restaurants , it's a little bit more expensive , but it's cleaner and safer ( no food poisoning and no scam ) .
    Use Grab or Vinasun or Mai Linh taxis for your transportations in the city . Use Phuong Trang ( FUTA ) buses for inter-city trips . They are quite affordable and very clean and safe . Never use fake taxis or companies other than Vinasun or Mai linh .
    Like everywhere in the world , in big cities or touristic sites , there are always pickpockets and crooks , who try to steal or scam the tourists
    At the local markets , small shops or with street vendors , you can bargain . But not in department stores or shopping centers .
    Be respectful with Vietnamese traditions and people at the churches , pagodas or temples . Never wear short clothes ( at least to cover down to your knees ) , low-necked or sleeveless shirts or T-shirts .
    Apart those things , VN is still the most affordable and beautiful country to visit

    #4, I found that in Vietnam, vendors start at unusually high prices (compared to other countries in Asia). Sometimes just plain ridiculously high. And that can get annoying. So be prepared to put in even more effort than you might be used to from other countries. Of course, maybe it's just something about me that leads to this, I don't know.

    • @bachvandals3259
      @bachvandals3259 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ... It's maybe because you shouldn't have bought anything from those vendor.
      1st rule, if the one you are buying shit from one who is speaking English, you gonna get ripped off. That what i call tourist trap, if you don't see Vietnamese buying stuff there, dont go in there and generally don't go into international and/or concentrated market. Supermarket- local shop is much cheaper, if you want to buy souvenir, buy it from the local vendor, not at the airport, and generally don't buy souvenir, it's always cheaply make and horribly expensive.
      Get a tour guy, it's not that expensive, if you wanna have a good experience with reasonable prices. Also knowing a few Vietnamese word and know generally prices tag will save you a lot.

    As for visas, you can stay 14 (15?) nights in Vietnam without a visa. For most visitors that will probably be fine. Regarding things not to do...don't dress like you are at a Thai beach resort in Vietnamese cities. You should notice the Vietnamese take pride in their appearance. I got chatting to a guy who works at a school in Hanoi, and he said one westerner turned up for a job interview wearing a Beer Lao vest and shorts, smoking outside the school gates. He apparently said "it's Asia, so people are relaxed about this kind of thing". He didn't get the job, surprisingly enough.
