All Australian car manufacturers used to make UTES. However the 2 popular UTES were made by Ford Australia and General Motors Holden. The Ford UTE was based on the Ford Falcon and the Holden UTE was based on the Kingswood, and Commodore family cars. In the early days the UTE was a 2 door, bench seat (3 people). The passenger cabin was cut behind the "C" pillar, the rear passenger section was removed and replaced with a tray. Near the end the Holden Commodore UTE was also available in "CREW CAB" which has 4 doors.
This seems like a fun hobby for a group of friends to have. And for you all to be minimally conceited in your efforts while knowing you have a few tens of thousand of fans, is admirable.
My favorite thing about this show(despite all of it being fantastic), is that the premise is that Tom Scott HASN'T done research about a particular topic. This series is essentially the literal opposite of Things You Might Not Know, and it's a fantastic juxtaposition to Tom's other side.

Truckla is exactly what I thought of
@@mattandtom I can just see you in Truckula, Matt.
Well, as a New Zealander, we just call all pickup trucks "Ute". There's no need to have made it specially (although I'm sure some do), if it is a flatbed behind a cab that looks vaguely car-like then it is a ute. I'm pretty sure Australia is the same, although I could be wrong.
Yep, anything with a standard car chassis but a flatbed in the back is a ute. Though we'd refer to something with a bigger chassis as a 4WD (four wheel drive) ute or 2WD ute if it's what the yanks call a pickup truck
14:35 You've won a book about Frank Lloyd Wright's urine-powered elevator; Falling Water's Falling Water: The Piss Cliff Lift.
Matt your "radio voice" is amazing. Would listen to it all day!
Matt: "Well, we could all be wrong, but one of us would be a dick."
Tom: "And I'm not ruling that out!"
Chris: "Let's save that one."
This, dear viewer, is called foreshadowing.
That is a great microphone. His voice sounds super masculine and nice.
16:34 - A doorway in the shape of a perfect outline of a person, Chris? You sure the architect wasn't Junji Ito?
DRRRRRR
I really really really love this show!
The best thing is when you guys just can't help laughing, it cracks me up every time even if I don't always get the jokes.
2:52
"A point is a point, you can't say it's only a half."
ok TJ """""""Henry"""""""" Yoshi
I never expect TOTPAL to come back, and I'm always happy when it does.
"I just feel like Ford wouldn't call it a muster. That's the thing that doesn't work for me."
So you're saying that's the claim that didn't pass muster?
"Have you seen Ford's naming conventions?" Chris has a fair point. They called a car the Probe.
Matt's T-Shirt looks hospital issue. Like he's an in-patient who's been let out temporarily to do this thing.
Like the time Ian Hislop discharged himself from hospital to record an episode of Have I Got News For You? He then went back to hospital and they removed his appendix.
It's the fit, the shoulders hang off him
After watching the final episode and now re-watching this, 8:50 - 9:00 I just realised how long Chris must have been planning the plot twist in it... :D
Tearing up at "the Burning Man of bogans" because literally any car show in rural Australia genuinely is
Really?! YEAAAAAHHH more technical difficulties, thanks i love it
Woo! It’s back! This is one of my favorite show concepts, and I’ve loved the past seasons of it. Also, Matt’s utes, the funicular skateboard, and rooftop mini golf, and the quick mention of real tennis (which is so very strange to me) was great! I can’t wait to see more Two Of These People Are Lying!
Taylor Hancock
“Real tennis” doesn’t sound like a real game
I love how Matt was like 'this is gonna be all plosives' and then went 'tom has a pile of papers...'
The lack of a park bench makes me very emotional
I was ridiculously excited to see this pop up, well done lads
The number of times I attempted to Like this video while watching it, only to realize I already had, is astounding
"Lets Save that One" ah so this is where the idea of Chris doing "3 of these people are lying" for a christmas special came from
This seems like a fun hobby for a group of friends to have. And for you all to be minimally conceited in your efforts while knowing you have a few tens of thousand of fans, is admirable.
This is *exactly* the content I've come here for.
Matt - “Well we could all be wrong, but one of us could be a dick”
Chris, two years later - 🤔
My favorite thing about this show(despite all of it being fantastic), is that the premise is that Tom Scott HASN'T done research about a particular topic.
This series is essentially the literal opposite of Things You Might Not Know, and it's a fantastic juxtaposition to Tom's other side.
8:52 Man, that'd be crazy if someone did that for a New Years special
OMG, the Chris foreshadowing for the New Year's special is just *chef kiss* definitely where he got the idea.
Everybody going "no" into the camera seems to be this episodes outro. Fair enough.
"it's like the burning man of bogans" is the best description of the Denny Ute Muster Ive ever heard. Props.
Yes! Just started watching all the Technical Difficulties. Just as I finished pretty much everything yesterday this comes up
"Piss cliff lift" - Oh, I ironically almost pissed myself at that.
8:50 I just rewatched the episode where that comes back :)
"Piss Cliff Lift" is just a highlight of the entire shows, it's all leading to THIS MOMENT
So excited to see this pop up just now! Thanks for making my morning a fun one :)
18:58 Tom Scott accurately describing Calvinball in one sentence
I miss techdiff stuff, I always want more of it
You’re aware of the @techdif TH-cam channel right? -Matt
God damn, every time they come back I realize how empty my life has been without them....
I hope that doesn't mean my life is sad(der than normal)
"We could all be wrong, but one of us would be a Dick"........ Almost Foreshadowing.
Aww yes, my favorite comedic quartet is back!
Ok so now that Chris lost the show, he needs to host next time and Tom needs to throw in an article.
Gennifer Bridget Ti'ana Maher
According to Gary, Tom just isn’t good enough at bullshitting off the cuff.
@@ragnkja which will make it funnier
Gennifer Bridget Ti'ana Maher
Apparently he’s so bad that it’s not even funny.
@@ragnkja which is even funnier take away his laptop, now take away his preparation
Come now, you can't take that away! That's all this man has left!
I think we all know that Chicago needs to set up rooftop minigolf now
I'm glad this is back! This show always cracks me up
Studying Matt in this video and the other games, I am starting to finally understand the topic of reading lies that have been addressed on other channels with the eyeline thing. I won't say do to spoilers, but where he looks as he is thinking betrays whether he is lying or being truthful. And it is surprisingly consistent.
