    I have the a7siii and i was originally looking to add a fx3 or a1. After talking to a number of people they say the a1 is photography 1st, so i should be looking between fx3 and fx6... So here I am

      I love my FX6 and plan on getting out of the FX3 or FX30 as a b cam if you work on a big team and you’re looking to have some serious growth while not having to purchase variable neutral density filter’s, but at the same time, have a ton of money or be willing to put a ton of money into developing your rig I highly recommend the FX6
      If you’re looking to grow and not put so much money into your rig and still get great picture quality then I recommend the FX3

    Well, there is no perfect camera in the film industry, but I can say that the Sony Fx6 and the new Burano are almost perfect, and the best are the Arri system. The only thing I differ with you is that all film cameras and cards are expensive, there is no camera that can use cheap SD cards 🤷‍♂️ It is best to use Atomos and you would have the best dynamic range and best storage. Have a good one, guys.

      @KipJackson bro is the best choice you can setup in Fx6, clean and sharp images, and very friendly with the editing softwares.

    At 0:18 why are your shots so blown out and Lut looks wrong? Did you forget to interpret the media when importing into your editor? You need to make sure they import showing the SLOG mode by interpreting to REC709SCENE.

    Good content and comments. Have you used this cam with a lens of at least 30x zoom? Would be interested in your comments on whether or not the auto focus copes or any other identified deficiencies? Cheers (wildlife video scenario)

    you can actually put any xlr mic on it it doesn't have to be the Sony one you stated

      This is referring to the handle size it is actually only fit for the Sony microphone !! it’s not referring to the XLR port, because XLR is universal

    I appreciate this video. This past year or two I've been eyeing the FX6 but not really knowing what I'd be getting into. I bought the FS5 at one point. I loved the ergonomics and everything except the lack of autofocus. I identify more as an content creator or even solo shooter that uses a lot of autofocus. So at the moment I'm just looking at how to conveniently rig my FX30 with similar ergonomics as the FX6.
    Good work Kip.

    • @KipJackson

      Both love the fx6 but you have to buy so many accessories to get the look you want !! Komodo has a great unique look to it but not as much support

    I agree with you on the top handle, I made a video like this a while ago, and something someone commented on my channel about the top handle microphone mount about why it’s so flimsy is because they did it to reduce noise bumps and vibrations and anything else that can mess up your audio if it was rigid and tough then any touch or vibration would travel through your mic and end up in your audio footage so I guess it is what it is lol Great video 🎥👏🏽

    • @KipJackson

      Bottom line is ya boy needs a easy rig and a better sound set up lessened learned from being in the field this week

    • @jasons57
      @jasons57 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every Sony camcorder I've used has mic mounts are like that. They're "shock mounted" so the mic doesn't make noise when you're runnin' and gunnin. As for the mic restrictions, I am using an Audio Technica AT875R with no problems at all. Matter of fact, I have used two other mics in there as well. That said, damn, the side grip could use a little more tightness!
      As for the memory, lots of data being written. Video ain't cheap and the fast (and expensive) memory requirements mean reliability...save your a$$ in the field.
      I don't know. I've been doing this since 1994 and maybe I am still enamored and amazed that a camera this tiny and inexpensive is light years better than the crappy $50k Betacam SP I had attached to me for half of my career.

      love every bit of this comment and i was born in 94 .. welcome to the channel... and it is amazing ya know how much was that AT mic ?
      @@jasons57

    • @jasons57
      @jasons57 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea how much this mic was when we got it. I started working here nine years ago and it was already on an old Sony PMW-300, but I see them listed, currently, around $170 or so. And most shotgun mics do come with rubber o-rings or a rubber pad that wraps around the base so it will fit snug in a mount.
      Trust me when I say that you were born at the right time. The the quality and technology have never been better and are only improving each quarter. You folks starting out have more options available to you for prices that were unthinkable even six or seven years ago. Think about that.
      And believe me when I tell you that your back and knees will thank you in twenty years!
