Its a PS1 game that never saw release in the states: Blue Submarine No.6: Antarctica. It functions as both a prequel and sequel to the anime, following Kino both before and after the events of the series. There is also another game, Blue Submarine No. 6: Time and Tide, for the Dreamcast, that follows Hayami before the start of the anime.
have you played the ps1 game, so what happenes after the end of the OVA?? who is blue sub fighting? did the Chimera and humans keep waging war after the end of the OVA?? what happens to Mutio? I just finished watching the OVA for the first time and it was amazing, cannot believe I missed this when I was a kid
The game mostly happens within the timeframe of the OVA. The part that happens after the OVA goes as such: One of the hybrids, the angler fish named Marcello, plots with Verg (who is still mourning Zorndyke's death) to use the nukes in Sub Zero to trigger the pole shift device. Verg wants to respect his Papa's final wishes, and decides to instead destroy Marcello's ship, killing him. Then Verg is saved by Mutio and her sisters as the Phantom Ship collapses around him. And then there's the part with Kino aboard Blue 6, looking back at Antarctica, which is where it all ends. That's about it. We never find out what happens after that, or even if Mutio and Hayami get together.
