One of the classic rock songs of all time! Justin Hayward's voice, the Mellotron, the flute solo, the orchestra...true beauty

The swell of the orchestra at the end of this song just gets me every time Tasha. Been listening to this song for over 50 years and I never tire of it or the album Days of Future Passed. Glad you got to hear this Tasha.

This song takes you on a trip to everywhere and nowhere special, back in time, forward, or suspended in space among the stars and puts you in such a Moody Blues atmosphere that you don't want to return. Another Song Tasha you should try is Forever Autumn.

This takes me back to my senior prom, 1971, although this was released in 1967, the year my oldest brother graduated. Classic. When was the last time you heard a flute do a solo & an entire orchestra in a rock song??? This is ageless.

I met this band in the 90s when I was working at Universal Studios in Orlando. I had heard of them and this song, but never knew it was them that performed it, until years later. I listened to country music primarily when I was younger. Really nice guys!

When it comes to epic songs in rock and roll, in my opinion this song is in the ultimate.
I've seen Moody Blues 4 times in concert, they never fail to give me goosebumps.
Another Moody Blues song you might like is a suite of three songs, Painted Smile/ Reflective Smile/ Veteran Cosmic Rocker, from their Long Distance Voyager album.

That's Ray Thomas on the flute otherwise known as "the veteran cosmic rocker"...one of my favorites since the sixties fortunate to see them live twice in the eighties, always had to have my hair cut the way Justin would all the way up the the barbers chair at Ft Knox.

One thing I always think is neglected about Justin Hayward is how crystal clear his phrasing and diction is. Every word comes through the ear to the brain effortlessly.
