A Late News Flash: a tragedy occurred outside Fulchester Crown Court today when, in a freak accident, a woman, later identified as Anne Silk (29), slipped on a banana skin and impaled herself upon the wares of a passing knife salesman as she left the building. "An awful accident but just one of these things" an unnamed blonde woman in the vicinity was heard to say.......
Loving these....thank you so much for uploading. I remember catching glimpses of CC when returning home from school for lunch. Frustrating as I never got to see a whole case. It is even better than I remembered.
I agree with AD K below . The judge provided two possibilities. First that the death occurred from internal beliefs of the victim only. Secondly that the witches powers were real. He ignored the third possibility namely the curse was made and even if the witch did not believe in it, the victim did, and it was the cause of his death.
The judge gave bad directions to the jury. Actually the defendant is guilty of murder, not just manslaughter. She knew that Laker was susceptible, and she did the curse knowing that it would have a bad effect on him because of his state of mind... And in fact it caused his death. Ergo, she is guilty of murder. The prosecution was very poor. It is bizarre that she attempted to prove that the defendant was a real witch. She should have concentrated on the fact that Laker really believed it, and the defendant knew that him knowing he had been cursed would cause him harm.
The Defendant claimed she thought curses were ineffective, as the defence said she was a self-confessed charlatan. Whether the jury believes her claim though, given her mendacity...
Hegarty is a liar. Oh and when the judge was questioning the priest scornfully about spirits of good and evil, I thought odd. Because the court is based on the ten commandments and the bible. So if they mock God then why swear on the bible?.

Wouldn't be surprised if the judge had been a secret member of the coven! lol
He gave a few furtive glances here and there.
Most are .
The marvelous Earl Cameron who sadly passed away aged 102 last year.
Amazing. I watched Flame in the Streets recently and saw him in that.
The actres playing the witch is Patricia Haines who was once married to Micheal Caine. Sadly she died from cancer in her mid forties.
one of the more ridiculous cases but fun nonetheless. It seems highly unlikely a case like this would ever be heard in court.
That was brilliant that episode. I'm also chuffed that the jury gave the same result that I thought. Not guilty 😁
KEEP YOUR SPOILERS TO YOURSELF.
