The Not Guilty verdicts were given with some force! Nice to know that racial prejudice wasn't accepted blindly even 51 years ago. The cop was a bad, racist perjurer. The victim and the old lady (why is she so familiar? Crossroads?) were prompted by the racist officer. Dennis Burgess, playing the guest QC, was good in an episode of The Professionals a few years later. Thanks for the upload. UPDATE: Gabrielle Daye - not Crossroads, Bless Me Father! That was a late '70s sitcom starring Arthur Lowe as a Catholic priest. It was a gentler Father Ted 20 years before the fact. She was the no-nonsense housekeeper. Worth seeing.
This was a tough one for me to judge. In the end I think I would have come down on the side of 'guilty' simply because they were picked out in the identity parade and the defence brought no reasonable evidence that it was not conducted as the police described.

Given the times when this episode was made when racism and racial prejudice were quite commonplace (reflected in the language of this actual episode), it's a tribute to the jury tat both defendants were exonerated.
@@whatshisname3304 No, but there's a difference between reasonable criticism that might be useful in improving things in the future (e.g. "I had trouble hearing because the volume was too low") and straight-up condemnation. One has a potentially beneficial result whereas the other gives little useful feedback and is unnecessarily rude to someone who has taken the time to upload a series of videos hard to find elsewhere for little or no reward.
