The third verse was added for this live performance. Jack Merritt worked for prisoner rehabilitation, including Dave's brother who is still in jail. He and the young lady pictured were murdered. Jacks parents were at the show and he surprised them with that tribute.
The young lady was called Saskia Jones.

It's fine what he said but why does everyone forget about the white slave trade Is it because it happened first yes that's right before there was black slave trade there was white slave trade the vikings took slaves in more numbers than the black slave trade the arabs took more white slaves than black slaves look it up it called the barbury slave trade they took millions of white slaves so does that mean that white people can demand reparations from arab countries for their slave trade cause I really hope that everyone calling for reparations also backs the call for arab countries to pay white people and also calls for Scandinavian countries to pay other European countries for the slaves they took or doesn't that count because it was a few hundred years before the American slave trade or should we all acknowledge that slavery was wrong and horrible and stop trying to get money from it ????

Dave is better than damn near everybody. If you really wanna get into him (and you will) start with his Blackbox freestyle, then his Blackbox cypher. He was only 15 & 16 in them. You'll understand him and the scope of his talents so much more...

i believe jack in the pictures was helping daves brother in jail trying to sort some bail or something but was killed in a attack i think
he was a criminology student focused on justice reform - not read anywhere about daves brother but it could be true! he was killed in a terrorist attack while trying to save people and calm the man down because he knew him & was helping to rehabilitate him after being released early from prison 💔
@@wastelandbaby1264 Dave's brother got life imprisonment, minimum 18yrs, under law of joint enterprise for involvement in a murder. He didn't actually do the murder. A new tactic the state are using against black men.

I feel like I learned a lot from this song.

Having grown up in the UK equivalent to the projects where everyone was considered shit regardless of your heritage, I'm often afforded a free pass when I am around different communities.
The difference is that when I want to present myself well, people treat me as a good person from the very beginning.
Me too. I'm a white woman that grew up in poverty with a father in prison but I think it's so important that I recognise while I've bad disadvantages in life I also have advantages due to my race. I work in a customer service job and my Black and Asian colleagues get racially abused daily, I do not.

Only thing i disagree with in the whole song is the bar abour reparations, why do people who mever experienced life as a slave need to be reimbursed for their ancestors trauma? Are we gonna demand Germany give reparations to Jewish Europeans for what the Nazi's did? Are we gonna demand the descendants of africans who were enslaved by africans before being sold by africans to the white man pay reparations too?
