      @@cent9424 honestly, idk. Dave’s discography is deep and varied and he is still young. He is also literally a musical genius. Love j cole (we’re from the same state and I’ve listened to him for most of his career) but Dave is a different animal altogether, imo.

    The whole psychodrama album is just a masterpiece, the way all the songs link together with the therapist sessions. Dave is among the best if not the best the uk has ever produced. The fact he can drop something like this and then next drop a number 1 with ease. Great reaction, psycho is my personal favourite from this album.

    This is a pretty cool breakdown from a different perspective than most people reviewing hip hop. It makes it more incredible to know he was 19 when he made this. Dave has an incredible ability to bring his thoughts and feelings to life in such detail, the light flashes eye gashes line feels all too real.

    Loved the reaction, hoped you give Dave another chance with exactly this song. Lesley is a absolute masterpiece and his message with it should be spread as often as possible to anyone in need or to prevent things like this as much as even possible from happening or escalating further.
    He did alot of songs with such heavy messages but diffrent topics - Picture Me and Heart Attack are the top notch of them together with Lesley.
    He adreeses the youth - the misunderstanding of the usual events the people encounter in situations like he has seen or lived through and trying to show them a very unique way to see to these things - to learn from them - to overcome the problems and mistakes that had or needed to happen since there was everying coming together for it again.
    One of the greatest artists of our time - you will stumble about much more great stuff if you go down his rabbit hole further. :-)

    Aww Rosalie, what a powerful reaction, I’m exactly the same - I’ve heard this track so many times and it still brings me to tears every time.
    Dave is special, he’s also confirmed this story was based on a family member of his.
    I think the baby didn’t have a name because Lesley didn’t survive the assault so wasn’t able to name the baby straight away. However, it could be the opposite, that the baby died and Lesley had to carry on without her/him.
    The album is based on therapy sessions Dave attended. He’s been through a lot, his Dad wasn’t able to stay in the country, his mum struggled bringing up the kids on her own. They grew up in a poor area of London, his brother was involved in crime from an early age and is currently in prison for murder.
    Dave’s live performance of ‘Black’ live at the Brit Awards is also fantastic and well worth reacting to.

    this song gets to me as it happened to my mother, and is the reason why she gave me up. her boyfriend (not my father) she was pregnant but did not know when she met her boyfriend, but when he found out she was pregnant he would punch her in the stomach and he threw her down the stairs, in the end she had to escape througha window, but she went back to him, she chose him over me. she gave me up so he didnt kill me. but he left my legs slightly twisted, so i cant run. so this hits me hard

    Thank you for "virtually visiting" music from different countries.
    I hope someday you will react to Latvian music, too. However, that might be a bit tricky because the songs that we produce nowadays in English are often void of "Latvian essence" and sound much like music from any other country.
    Historically, Latvian music has been rocky, a bit experimental, and sometimes sentimental. This was caused by the fact that Latvia was occupied by the USSR for decades, and we had to express our desire for freedom in our music, but we had to hide it deeper to get through the censorship. During the last years of the USSR, when we felt we are so close to our freedom, our songs became more open. We have a song and dance festival, which is one of the largest amateur choral and dancing events in the world, every five years. We sing our folk songs and also our "freedom songs". Those are bittersweet moments when tens of thousands of people sing and feel the pain of their parents who fought for freedom in the only way they could - with art. Because we had no chance to fight with weapons against the USSR.
    Some modern Latvian songs are still true to this style. One of them is actually in English. It's the song "Aijā" by Sudden Lights, and Latvia will send it to Eurovision this year. It tells a story that might be interesting to analyze and also it has that Latvian bitter-sweet and sentimental, somewhat experimental rock. Another, much more sentimental song with a bitter-sweet melody and meaningful lyrics is Walter & Kazha - The War Is Not Over, which also was sent to Eurovision many years ago. This song was also noticed and covered by the Danish band "Michael Learns To Rock", which was more known than the Latvian authors of the song.
    Thank you for reading this and have an awesome day :) Greetings from Latvia!

      @camelCased ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bignik6209 Created a system and a government that initiated massive population transfers and deportations (a few of my relatives were deported and I never saw them). That caused lots of pain and confusion for smaller nations. Smaller cultures were - and still are - belittled as "not important" when compared to the "great and powerful Russian culture". They say they freed us from Germany but that was not an act of generosity; that was just an excuse to gain our territory - like a fireman saving you from a fire and then staying in your home and ruling over you.
