    I think the original T line’s seat post is good enough. That’s light and stable.❤

    Wow, that was educational. After all of your different seat posts, you plan to go back to the original T-Line seat post. That means that Brompton really spent time and money on R&D before releasing the T-Line. Of course, the seat post doesn't make the bike. I wonder how good the other original Brompton parts are compared to your upgrades, for instance, the original Brompton crankset compared to your Praxis. _alright alright_

    I have a titanium seatpost from the brand brompfication that uses a pentaclip. At the moment, I am very satisfied

    Am satisfied with my stock Seat post on my C line M6L, it's meant for daily commute and I used it almost everyday to work carryin my laptops, pants, shirts etc and Bottle. Weight savings is negligible. Only things I changed is the rear suspension to Imperium Cycle, Ridea Seat post Clamp & Ridea wheel extender.

    I use a carbon seat post since less vibration, also light weight. For stop slipping, I also spray it. Since a carbon post absorb a vibration, I feel a seat post sleeve may be damaged faster than original steel seat post. But, for less vibration and also lighter weight for a travel, I love a carbon seat post.

    As a Dane, and we are normally tall people (I'm past 6"), our Bromptons are delivered with a Long Version Seat Post, as Standard! And I tried a carbon, Brand Post, but it changed its diameter along its length, so I then found a black Titanium Post (my bike is a Black Version), which I now use, with an AceOffix Clamp for the seat (It's lighter and functions better than at least the old and very complicated versions Pentaclip!). I like to be able to just pull the Pin out to stop, before riding, so I have kept the original, Brompton Secure Shape.
    But if wanting to be able to changing Posts, why don't You select a Titanium Post with an "integrated ring" for the saddle, and then also loosing the weight of the clamp? I have one of those also!
    My now much former than 2019 Superlight, with mudguards, is now below 9 kilo with all possible loose parts changed to titanium and carbon, but still with my 6 gears! I also use a Selle Italia, slightly padded, carbon saddle, though the original saddle functioned fine, but had a weight penalty! Finn. Denmark

    I wish I watched this video a year ago when I bought a titanium seat post. I didn’t like the extra long seat post that came with my Brompton, so I thought I would upgrade, but just like you said in the video, the cheap titanium seat post that I got from Ali express is not uniformly thick so the seat post slips around when the bike is folded. It was so annoying that I put my original seat post back in. I think I’m going to just buy a standard length seat post from Brompton Junction since we have one in DC now.

      My black Titanium, Brompton shaped Seat Post I also bought from A.E. and it is fine and of the same diameter all along its length? And it weighs what the Seller claimed!! But maybe, if choosing a too inexpensive post?
      I have bought a Carbon Post which changed its diameter along its length, from A.E.
      But my post also slips a little, from being pulled totally out - maybe because I am a heavy, 100kilo man?
      I have some "special grease" for a slipping seat post, which I intend to try, to see if it functions? Finn. Denmark

      Why not just buy a Seat Post with an integrated "saddle ring" on top, for the Saddle mount, as it has no security ring in the bottom, for obvious reasons? They also come in a Brompton size tube. Finn. Denmark

    Thank you for detailed overview. I purchased clearance P Line stock from Brompton Junction NYC a month ago (received 25% off MSRP). Unfortunately my copy came without the superlight pedals and with a Fizik Aliante Saddle. I asked Brompton Junction to swap out the Fizik saddle for the standard brompton saddle since they warned me that the Fiziks are very uncomfortable for most riders.
    My question is I see a local listing selling the OEM carbon seatpost, superlight saddle, and superlight pedals for about $300 total. The ad says these are take off parts off a recent T line purchase. Do you think it's worth the upgrade? My main considerations are weight savings, although it seems like the savings would be de minimis since I'd be using the bike for commuting and would be carrying a laptop in a front carrier bag, i.e. weight savings are offset by me carrying items of variable weights on a daily basis. Thank you!

    I had the Brompfication one and absolutely hated how fiddly attaching the seat to the post was but more than that the height always slipped. I contacted the company and they were not able to help with the post slipping. I ended up selling it at a loss and went back to the non slipping original seat post.

      You are able to buy a "non slip grease" for a seat post! It may have helped? Finn. Denmark

      @@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 Possibly but If a product doesn't work as intended without modification then its really down to shoddy product design by Brompfication IMHO. No grease is needed for the stock post. I have been finding that Brompton parts are designed so well and have been thoroughly tested that in the end the original parts for the T Line seemed to work the best.

    I got the titanium post on eBay that has the same clip as the Brompification. It was around 60.00

    I did noticed the bottom of your stock post was missing the flair bottom. Glad you explain why you cut them off. Makes good sense.
    Are you sure the T-Line pentaclip works on a regular saddle, say a Brooks B-17? The T-Line's saddles' pentaclip has oval shaped rails,
    so will it clamp securely onto round rails?

    What about the original Brompton telescopic seatpost?

    • @finncarlbomholtsrensen1188
      @finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      For being able to use my B&W hard-box for travels, I bought one, telescopic black version from Brompton (For not having to take my "folding bike" apart, before using my Box)! But for a "Weightwatcher", it is absurdly heavy, as it is -two tubes and an extra Clamp! I suppose even in a Taiwanese "Joseph Kuosac" version? Finn. Denmark

      @@finncarlbomholtsrensen1188 It probably stops being heavy if both tubes are fully extended (tall riders) ;)

    Doesthe brompfication seatpost without pentaclip work with the t line carbon saddle? A bit worried since the carbon saddle has carbon rails!

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can use many posts as long as the diamter is the same. Also, the length has to be long enough which is unique to folding bikes.

    Hello. I just want to ask if the carbon seatpost has alot of flex and twisting while riding? Thanks

    • @BromptonFamilyTime
      @BromptonFamilyTime  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't notice any flex. But I stripped the screw holes in the top piece so I can no longer use this seatpost anymore. I will be buying a replacement but with a different design in the future. This one as a pain to use and make adjustments.

      Been using a carbon seatpost made by H&H for three years already and I don’t notice any flex nor twisting. It’s very light and durable. It easily scratches but just wipe it with armor all and the scratches becomes black again.
