8:20 I'd like to add my perspective here. The game isn’t doing poorly, in fact it's performing decently and still has good numbers. It is just that, more players tend to play Tekken on consoles than on Steam, so the majority of the Tekken 8 player base is on consoles.
If a game is genuinely good, then a hater cannot ruin the experience and their words would have zero impact on the outcome, since reality would always tell us otherwise. An example of this is what happened 10 years ago. Remember how the devout community of BT fans all hated XV but despite that, the game still went on strong for nearly a decade? That's not happening here apparently with SZ, since it flat lined in just under a month. See, the _real_ complaints aren't coming from the haters because they don't actually play the game anyway, what's being taken into consideration are the more legitimate criticisms regarding how completely unbalanced SZ actually is. The thing that videos like these never address is how these complaints are by individuals coming from every platform. That is why nobody can really refute what is going on here, because there is video evidence addressing these issues on all ends of the spectrum. SZ defenders want to pretend like there isn't any problem, but what logic tells us is that there MUST be, since we all could not have gotten to this place we are right now if there wasn't really an issue. DBZ fans have never been more divided on something. And taking all of that into consideration, it's also reasonable to assume that if this game lost 90% of its player base on just one platform, then that there would _definitely_ be some kind of detrimental impact on other ones too. Even WITHOUT the video evidence, anyone with a functioning brain could figure that out.
@ChatterBoks85 Hey, I ain't saying the game doesn't have problems. people have to put it into perspective that sf6 n tekken have crossplay so gives people more reasonfor players to stick to steam instead of console. some people bought the game twice for steam n console so they aren't always going to be on steam if the player base isn't as active.
Bro I don’t get how people forcing the agenda that the game is dead, when it is hitting average numbers for a fighting game. The game literally averages 9k-14k players same as the newest tekken game, and the newest street fighter game. No game is gonna average 50k-100k players the same as they just got at launch, that is just not normal.
So you really think it's all made up, huh? The information about the 90% drop was reported on some of the biggest gaming news outlets, so obviously it was a big deal, despite this guy trying to downplay it. And apparently, it was enough of a problem for the developers to recognize it as such and immediately give a public response regarding it. They began acting on the problem right away to patch this whole thing up as soon as possible, just as you would expect from any situation where there is a real problem going on. And why would they do that for? The answer is simple: It's because _they_ have the actual numbers and can see the data that we don't see, aside from steam. They know how much damage is actually being done, all caused by the unbalanced problems with this game on _every_ platform. It didn't bode well when the devs told people to just lower the difficulty of the game, despite how this has been reported positively. So many lies man, so many lies... And the problems just kept piling up for those playing ranked matches to the point where everyone HAD to complain whether they actually liked this game or not. Its time for people to face reality.

steam is the largest storefront on pc. seeing the numbers go down is concerning for any platform. the one thing steam offers you is a unique perspective into the player numbers for the game when no other consoles will even let you see them. steam is massive for transparency for games reviews and the like. no one knows the player numbers for console, and we have no way to say what actual percentage has actually dropped its not the whole picture but definitely lets you see a trend. thinking that the only people who stopped playing are on pc is a bad take there obviously is a drop off in the game you just can't see them
It's really not that concerning. It's not a live service game that warrants being consistently played daily like certain games with battle passes like fortnite or even SF6. Don't gotta do that one but it still rewards you for playing everyday. Sparking is a game you can hop on with your friends, give feedback via videos, surveys, tweets and such. Also, people just have other games to play, I'm not in the mood to play the game every day, shoot I work lol so I'm too tired for fast-paced action, so I'll just watch videos or play a slower paced game like Zelda or something Point being Sparking doesn't NEED to have the numbers of the FIRST month from when everyone is hype. Honeymoon phase is over, people play other games but still love this one. It's not black and white with games and everyone should know that.
Not even a hater or whatever but comparing the current avg player count of S0 to FighterZ, which came out 7 years ago, dosent prove anything. If anything, it makes it seem like you dont get the point of people mentioning the 90% drop-off in the first place.
@@AngelsFGC that type of drop off is normal for fighting games and that’s why I pulled it up , the point was to go by the logic of people with no knowledge on how fighting games get disrespected in terms of popularity and and having a fan base that won’t stick around
Try to find a video game that has kept a consistent 120k players on a daily because you won't, those numbers aren't normal to retain consistently. Of course there is gonna be a "90% drop-off" because players after launch won't be playing the game after the hype died down. They just aren't the target audience, they're tourist who plays the game because it's hype then puts it down after it's not popping anymore. That doesn't mean the game at all dead it just means that the tourist aren't playing. The game is especially not dead because it is hitting average numbers for EVERY FIGHTING GAME after it's launch cycle at around 10k-15k. Street Fighter averages around 20k, Tekken averages around 7k and that is because most people play Tekken on consoles, Sparking Zero averages 10k. These are all normal numbers for fighting games that are Lively. Sparking Zero isn't at all dead, so I don't get this force agenda just because "90% drop-off" From the game's launch.
I don't want to throw shade at Xenoverse 2, but if anything that game is on it's last legs. Not dead, but still being carried by its small community as the game is averaging around close to 2k players, no where near Sparking Zero's average and that is just from steam charts. Who knows how many people are still playing the game on Console, but I don't think it is much more than tekken.
@@IamIchijo Absolutely agree with almost all your comment. I just take issue with saying a 90% drop off in month 1 is normal for fighting games. By virtue of being a Tenkaichi sequel, DBZ game, and less intimidating than a traditional fighting game, its naturally going to have a huge amount of "tourists" who only intended to play for so long in the first place. That's why I think its unfair to fighting games to say a 90% drop in month 1 is normal for them. Most popular fgs have far fewer tourists than s0, so a much narrower drop off. Sf6 has been out for a year+ and hasn't lost 90% average monthly players. Other than that, I think you're totally right. Idk about an agenda, I'm not terribly invested in whether s0 is dead or not tbh. but I think the community isn't having actual discussion and isn't interpreting the steam charts correctly. My main fg is a dead game so steam charts arguments are something I'm forced to have a lot of ig.
@@MikeToFunny-d3m I get the rationale. I just have 3 issues with this vid and your arguments: 1) If your point is to refute that 90% of the player base has left, mentioning console is irrelevant. If 90% of people left on PC, statistics indicate that around the same ratio of console players left (unless there is something driving people away from PC specifically). That doesn't make the game dead necessarily, but "that's just PC" its just not a good response. There are way better counter-arguments. The drop off doesn't even necessarily mean 90% of players quit per se, it might mean they're just not all playing at once like on launch day. 2) Like you said in the vid; I agree we shouldn't compare s0 to fighting games. But using steam charts to compare s0 to fighting games isn't using "the haters logic". S0 fans have been using it since launch day to put it over Tekken and sf6. 3) Comparing s0 average players after 1 month to games like DBFZ 7 years after its release proves nothing. If you really wanted to prove that its a typical player decline, then compare their 1st month retention ratios. Not to how many people are playing a game nearly a decade later on a random Wednesday afternoon. Also, Its not serious frfr, but I'd hold off on laughing at games like Guilty gear and DBFZ's player counts. Fgs have dealt with issues of low retention and popularity for decades, so DBFZ still having 700 people after 7 years or GGST having nearly 4k after 4 years are actually massive success stories. Guilty Gear in particular is historically an extremely niche franchise so Strive still pulling numbers like that is insane. Plus, it didnt even help your point.
Dude like calling out OBVIOUS problems isn't hating. The game got too broken mechanics and that makes it not fun anymore, seeing like only G4 and other instant sparking characters swarming ranked.
The hate is well deserved. But ill admit its moreso because of the community itself rather than the game. Even then, the game has shitty mechanics that allow players to cheese so the devs aint entirely innocent
I don’t think you really know what is a dead game. Sparking zero average player base being in the 10k zone doesn’t mean the game is dead, just yesterday it was at 14k. These are the same numbers that the newest tekken game has at average but is that game dead, no. A lot of fighting game after launches always average around those numbers, but nobody calls them dead so how is speaking zero a dead game? “Oh because it drops down 90% players” at launch sparking zero had 100k, no game gonna constantly hit that number on a daily, of course it says 90% drop because it no longer has the hype it had around launch. That’s literally every video game out there, there are gonna be people who don’t play the game once the hype died down, doesn’t mean it’s a dead game. Sparking zero is literally averaging 9k-14k players which is normal for EVERY fighting game that’s very lively. Same numbers as tekken, same numbers as street fighter. You wanna know what is a dead game though? Check out The newest Mortal kombat which averages around 1k players..now that is a game that’s dead. So now you haters can say all you want but the charts proves themselves and with facts alone, sparking zero isn’t dead, the game is very much still lively.

@ lmao that’s what I tried to tell them 😭 and yea that makes more sense cause before the patch I was getting in games much much quicker
It’s not because it’s too sweaty it’s cuz they can’t win consistently COD is sweaty but also easy to get good at so they probably play cuz they’re better at it

Just because I think Sparking zero is trash doesnt mean I think mk is a good game. This game sold well because its a nostalgia bait cash grab for casual gamers. That doesnt change the fact it has a bigger drop off compared to the other games in only a month lmao. This game will average 2k players on steam in 1 more month cause its a trash cash grab. The game barely has more players than T8 as im typing this and its over a year old.
Xenoverse game but play like sparking zero. Xenoverse has so much replay ability with the custom characters but Dragonball has shown to take from previous installments before to make their game better. Hence Xenoverse gameplay along with kakarot gameplay and graphics helped prep sparking zero I love the game just want more to do
Honestly think some people quit because modding was causing issues maybe but to me that's their fault not the games fault and before a hater saying well it's buggy and laggy but yet I been playing it on ps5 and barely find any issues or reasons to hate the game think haterz are just delusional or throwing a tantrum
What? How would modding cause issues?
Bugs in the mods or something like that I'm just guessing really
@@Codyslx cuz I don't actually know why PC players dropped on sparking zero I'm just making a guess cuz I haven't ran into any issues or net issues
@@Codyslx sorry for replying again but wouldn't too many mods crash the game I know when I download mods for games that have them built in u gotta be careful on how many u download or certain ones u download cuz they would bug the game or crash it
@anime_overload989 People who mod the game know what their in for, and most of the mods out for sparking zero are local cosmetic mods. Basically character reskins.
Just faced in a single dp match I was the ultimate gohan
steam is the largest storefront on pc. seeing the numbers go down is concerning for any platform. the one thing steam offers you is a unique perspective into the player numbers for the game when no other consoles will even let you see them. steam is massive for transparency for games reviews and the like. no one knows the player numbers for console, and we have no way to say what actual percentage has actually dropped its not the whole picture but definitely lets you see a trend. thinking that the only people who stopped playing are on pc is a bad take there obviously is a drop off in the game you just can't see them
It's really not that concerning. It's not a live service game that warrants being consistently played daily like certain games with battle passes like fortnite or even SF6. Don't gotta do that one but it still rewards you for playing everyday.
Sparking is a game you can hop on with your friends, give feedback via videos, surveys, tweets and such. Also, people just have other games to play, I'm not in the mood to play the game every day, shoot I work lol so I'm too tired for fast-paced action, so I'll just watch videos or play a slower paced game like Zelda or something
Point being Sparking doesn't NEED to have the numbers of the FIRST month from when everyone is hype. Honeymoon phase is over, people play other games but still love this one. It's not black and white with games and everyone should know that.
Really great points man
The game is still fun as a game but its a pretty chunky step down from what tenkaichi used to be
bro theres millions of roblox games that have more active players than 104 wtf 💀💀
I just have 3 issues with this vid and your arguments:
1) If your point is to refute that 90% of the player base has left, mentioning console is irrelevant.
No hate I subbred I half like the game. You seem cool though.
Welcome to the channel 🙏🏾
The hate is well deserved. But ill admit its moreso because of the community itself rather than the game. Even then, the game has shitty mechanics that allow players to cheese so the devs aint entirely innocent
Yeah, 90% of the players were FORCED to quit, lol. So much cope in this video. 😂😂
90% of ALL player base (witch includes steam, ps5, xbox)? Or just steam? Witch is it? What cope you talking about?
Just for laughs you should have added Concord lmao or some other woke bs game that died on launch.
Awwww the big bad woke made another incel cry, waaaaaah! 😭😭
Bro still gone be arguing the game not dead 4 years from now 🤣 bro can’t stand da fact dat people don’t like it or stop playing it
coming to another man comment section to hate is wicked gng
@@kseanbad like I said before a big number count and a low number count doesn’t mean the game is good or bad. Like how roblox has a very large number count but the game is mediocre but on the other hand inde games and sparking zero have low player counts but are some of the best games I have ever played and enjoyed. If you don’t like it then don’t play it🙄
@@PRIVATEPICKLE 😂 yall crying over a dead game 🤣🤣🤣
