To me the Freeza saga is peak Dragon Ball, it had a ton of build up, peak action, character development and the transformation that revolutionized shonen. The android saga was great but it was the beginning of the super sayans show, where if you wasnt a super sayan you would barely get any screen time.
Yeah because that was meant to be the last arc. And the culmination of the whole dragon ball story. But after seeing how successful it was, Toriyama was asked to continue the series.
Sad thing about GT is that the idea for some story arcs are actually fantastic - like Baby being the personification of Saiyans violent past coming back to bite them. And of course the concept of Shadow Dragons where the heroes overusing and constant reliance on the Dragon Balls comes back to bite them. These are some great ideas but the bad execution is what ruins them. Such a wasted potential.
I really liked Yajirobi in his introduction. He was the first one I thought to "mirror" Goku of some kind to the audience. In his first scene Goku watches him killing and eating like he himself would do when hungry. Yajirobi was for me like Goku, an overly strong kid that just wasn't interested in tournaments and climbing ancient towers. Yajirobi is the personification of "I am fat and lazy, but if I have to, I can do it".
@@MeteorFalcon And he then went to cut off the tail of a space monkey with tenfold the strenght needed to destroy the entire planet. with a Simple. Fucking. Sword.
Yeah I think the fight is paced a little weird but the design and concept are great. The Tuffle and SSJ4 lore were great additions in GT I think, and felt like genuinely good bits of worldbuilding.
baby as a character is amazing, just GT, although many people had fun watching, including myself, is objectively not that great but Baby is fire, love him in DBFZ
That's what I liked about GT. It allowed us to see the consequences of the Saiyans' rampage across the galaxy. Like Freeza may have hired them and all, but it sounds like the Saiyans were particularly the most destructive of his forces, so much so that the Tuffles targeted the Saiyans exclusively for their revenge.
OG DragonBall is just the Absolute GOAT DBZ was Great & had some Outstanding Iconic Moments that impacted the Cultural Zeitgeist & future manga series forever on GT had a nice aesthetic & Super Saiyan 4 & some interesting concepts but fell flat in certain areas & then DragonBall Super Has some Awesome Moments but then they are either undercut or don't hit as hard cause of some choices they made with the writing. There are parts where its like "oh yeah back to form this is great" but then its like "Oof seasonal rot hittin hard" Tho all the slice of life eps in super are fun haha
The Saiyan and Frieza arcs are my favorite but I loved the way Cell was introduced. It felt very different and a bit of a horror element into the series.
What I really love about the cell arc is the immersion that the 3 androids and first form cell brings to the world of dragon ball z.. how piccolo, tien and Krillin were searching for Cell while he was going from city to city killing citizens and absorbing their energy while conceiling his power, very slowly getting stronger. That horror scene of that mother and her kid running away from cell at the airport and then Krillin saving them!!! ++ 16, 17 and 18 banter while travelling to Goku's house, the amount of fun 17 was having. This part of the cell saga really brings you into the world, makes you care what happens in each scene.
The only thing I didn’t like was how some Androids were stronger than those who were stronger than Frieza and King Cold. I like the gimmick of not sensing their energy, but that felt irrelevant. Throwing Cell as a new threat while dealing with the Androids was perfect though. There are not many moments in Dragon Ball Z that made you think or left you completely clueless about what was going to happen next. (Early Namick being an exception.)
Frieza will always be the best saga in DBZ for me. When I was younger, I vaguely remember watching parts of it on Toonami. Years later, I would watch clips of it online constantly, enough that it became the saga I understood the most. The buildup is fantastic, especially how Vegeta’s character arc was handled. Not to mention Frieza is my favorite villain as well. Cell drug on for too long (although Future Trunk’s arc was also written very well) and Buu was just… too much. I love all the sagas, but Frieza was handled the best Imo
It was the story Toriyama wanted to tell. After that there was too much interference with others asking for different villains, new villains etc. It honestly killed the series.
The Moro arc had no business being this good after what we saw in Super. I agree with most of what you said, especially putting the excellent Cell arc slightly under Frieza and the Saiyan arc. It was interesting hearing your thoughts on GT because I haven't watched that since I was a kid.
Considering the anime Has had YEARS to animate that arc and improve on the few flaws it had (at least the ones that can be changed). Toei really gotta do their worst to make this arc not be as good as it was in the manga
The Cell Saga will always be the GOAT for me. As a kid, it felt like the darkest and most serious of the arcs, how cell would just absorb random civilians, to how Future Trunks just obliterated Freeza like he wasn’t even trying, to the terror of the Androids, to Gohan becoming peak Gohan. I love everything about it.
What?! Sayain saga is the goat. Tien and yamcha, heroes of Dragonball struggling to survive. Hoping for Goku to come back. Picollo changing from evil to becoming a hero to saving and loving Gohan his friend. Yajurobi playing a significant role. Goku barely being strong enough to win.
@@geovanilopez5459 what made the Saiyan Saga really shine is it still held onto some of the original DB charm while also introducing crazy alien threats. Later in the series every just came down to bigger ki blasts, spirit bombs ( I'm not counting the first use of it here against it as it was obviously new and shiny) and power ups. Original Dragon Ball had all kinds of shenanigans that often determined the outcome of fights. Goku holding Radditz and Yajirobe cutting off Vegetas tail are throwbacks to that. Hell even turning Ginyu into a frog in the next saga was a throwback, but those became fewer and further in between as power creep settled in. Similarly to Naruto and One Piece, though One Piece hasn't suffered as much just due to the outlandish nature of the series and its powers.
One thing I noticed about GT’a arcs is the theme of the past coming back to haunt the present. The black star Dragon Balls are something the Nameless Namekian made in the distant past with evil in his heart. Baby is the consequence of the Saiyans’ ruthless past coming back to seek revenge. Super 17 is the result of Gero and Myuu stewing in defeat to the point it consumes them to the point of revenge. And of course, the Shadow Dragons is the result of overusing the Dragon Balls all this time
It's honestly a much better thematic direction than what Super did, OG Dragon Ball and Z were about a journey through childhood and adulthood respectively, so it makes sense to go forward by addressing the consequences of ones actions as a young adult after they've moved forward in life to their later years. Or in this case, Goku facing the consequences of taking responsibility for the legacy of the Saiyans and for the Z gang's use of the Dragon Balls back in the day. Now I don't know if making Goku a kid again was the right choice along the way, but oh well lol. GT had great ideas and very questionable execution. Meanwhile Super kind of just...it's good sometimes, but it feels like an officially written fanfiction. It's sort of just trying to stretch out what Z did and re-treading ground in as many different ways as it can instead of trying to go elsewhere with its ideas.
That’s why I love GT. It felt like a proper sequel, the past came back to haunt them in ways that weren’t just total rehashes and Super Saiyan 4 felt like the end of the Saiyan’s potential. It had a presence.
@@KonoGufo Great ideas, mostly poor execution, aside from maybe Baby. I still love and enjoy GT though. You are correct in that it did more than Super did, and it felt like it went in a more logical direction instead of trying to stretch the ideas of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z out and rehashing either characters or arcs. The past came back in GT, as did many of the characters, but it was done with a purpose relevant to the story they were trying to tell.
My favorite of all of them is the Cell Arc, particularly because of Gohan’s growth throughout. Gohan has and always will be my favorite character in the series, and SSJ2 is my favorite transformation. So in my opinion it’s a God Tier entry. The ending is just too incredible for me to NOT put it there.
@@clydu91 But I feel like that makes Gohan’s sudden burst even more hard hitting, especially when you consider that we watched his growth over time and even then we didn’t see his full potential
The Cell arc trivialized Super Saiyan as a transformatiuon, trivialized every non-Saiyan fighter in the roster even more than they already were, trivialized the Dragon Balls themselves so that they have no purpose besides resurrecting people, and it all revolved around a lackluster villain. It also introduced the most bullshit mechanic for a villain: regeneration- which made it so that unless you could one-shot the villain, the fight never ends and the heroes are just getting hurt and losing energy. That arc was the beginning of the downhill for DBZ, and the sooner we collectively accept it, the better.
@@JurgenBlitz Maybe when we collectively accept that everyone has their own opinion, the better. I understood your points until that last sentence. Personally, Cell is and has always been my favorite villain, but you don't see me coming after you for calling him lackluster. I would argue that regeneration only became annoying with Buu, Cell was the first time they used that foil, so I don't think it's fair to come after that arc for something it introduced. I feel like the thing about the Dragon Balls isn't that they were trivialized, but no one has any purpose for them compared to Frieza or King Piccolo, who both wanted immortality. None of the characters following those villains needed the Dragon Balls to accomplish their goals, leading to the relegation of the Dragon Balls into a mechanism to restore life. I can understand your point about Super Saiyan, but I feel like the main violator is Trunks (and maybe Vegeta if you want to stretch it that far), seeing as how Trunks is so removed from the main timeline and while his transformation did come about due to anger, like with all the others, and his appearance was cool with the revelation that "There can be more?!", Trunks was never built up in the story to even have the development to reach that state like Gohan or even Vegeta, so that's my take on everything. I sincerely ask you to consider opposing viewpoints before claiming that your opinion is an objective fact in the future.
The androids were terrifying, the music was scary, the mystery was there, Goku’s heart disease, trunks being from a different time, but that connection back to the red ribbon army made it make sense. It was AMAZING as a child lol
nothing's ever gonna match the hype i felt as a kid having seen up through the freeza saga a million times while waiting for the cell and android saga to finally hit tv. only for me to grow out of watching it on tv and miss it entirely until i downloaded it years later, lol.
The android saga lowkey scared me when I was kid. The androids destroying the city, Goku punching Dr. gero, Goku (also) getting a heart attack while being handled by Android 19 (the music made it more hard to watch) watching Android 18 humiliate Vegeta after Super Saiyan was thought to be untouchable by that point. 16, 17, and 18 on the hunt to kill Goku while he couldn’t even defend himself, the buildup and appearance of Imperfect Cell, absolute peak DB. They don’t make em like that anymore
The heart attack thing was so very stupid. If someone told you that you'd die of a heart attack and then all your friends and family will be massacred, would you forget to take the medicine?
@Reginald Knickerbacher in Trunks's timeline, Goku fell to the heart virus 6 months before the androids attack. I'm sure when present Goku didn't feel any effects when the 6 months before came and past he thought he was fine and hence didn't take it.
Dragon ball actually had good writing and character development. Dbz is not bad by any means, but it all devolved to explosions, screams, and non stop fighting. The show made more sense in the og Dragon Ball.
@@Contemplatingspider I think they were referring to the oftentimes seeming non-stop action. Feelings like no breaks in between due to how passage of time is displayed. While that may be natural for a show like that, some people would prefer more down-time.
Saiyan arc/Frieza arc are defo the best DB arcs ever. Those arcs gave me so much comfort, idek what it was, but I’d watch a few eps every night after going to the library when revising for my exams and it was just so warming and well written. Will forever cherish those arcs.
when goku met his grandpa gohan i actually cried. the voice actors and the animators actually did an incredible job. like u see goku smile so much but till then you could see and hear how truly happy he was seeing his grandpa. i love that scene and kid goku so much
I have a soft spot for the Buu arc. It was one of the first villains I met on DB and I have always enjoyed his different forms and general design aesthetic. Always really enjoyed the Kid Buu fight and even though there's a lot of dumb stuff in the arc and some silly fourth wall breaks, I just like it a bunch. However, when binge reading Cell and then Buu it feels pretty weird. Do super enjoy the Mr Satan and Buu relationship, though!
My personal fav moment from the buu arc was vegetas sacrifice and showing that he truly cares about everyone even goku and forgetting his pride to try and save everyone & kid buu was also a absolutely menacing villain killing all humans then blowing up the planet
I personally think the end of GT makes the most sense alongside the Shadow Dragon arc. It kinda represents shenron forgiving the mortals for overusing the dragon balls, and doing the work to purify them. So while the ending could make sense with any part of GT, it makes the most sense after the shadow dragons arc.
I really enjoyed this tier list. Been listening for years and this genuinely felt much more like a peek into Mark's mind. One that felt natural and slightly vulnerable
For the king piccolo arc, I think one of the contrivances can be retroactively explained away: Having only watched DB LONG after DBZ, I always understood the magic water as a placebo, with the true reason for Gokus powerboost being that he got a zenkai.
We’re very clearly told that it isn’t a placebo in the Piccolo arc. The way it’s handled in the anime is superior to the manga though, as we actually see what Goku goes through to survive
Yeah but that's a post rationalization, there's no suggestion that Toriyama even thought about Goku being a saiyan, let alone about saiyan being a thing. Even then zenkai boost isn't something he made up until the frieza arc.
@@pascalsimioli6777 Thats why I said "retroactively". I know it wasn't thought of at the time, but a lot of great manga got stuff explained retroactively because, at the time, the mangaka didn't know where the story was going yet. Perhaps the best example being the black swordsman arc of berserk. And especially with Toriyama, you sometimes gotta use headcanon to explain away some of the details of his worlds haha
I genuinely loved the Saiyaman portion if the Buu arc, and I think a lot of the problems with the arc overall could be fixed if Buu absorbed Goku and Vegita and Gohan fused to fight him in the end
I will always sympathize with Toriyama’s struggle to balance that arc due to the tons of pressure by editors and fans he was receiving, but it’s interesting to see how in the Z arcs, when we hindsight problems, with minor changes they become far better. But when it comes to Super, there is no minor hindsight. When watching Super there were just way too many times at which I would know instantly FAR better routes the story could’ve taken (literally have a list cause I do wanna make a video about it one day). It truly shows the massive gap in quality and care Toriyama used to put in the story vs what Toei put in their original esque version of the anime. Toyotarou has problems but at least you can tell he cared and many times tried his best with the manga. There is absolutely no way I can say the same when it comes to the Anime version and it’s writers.
I liked the color palette of GT a lot and it's still tranditional cel art, so thats always great of course. But the artstyle (mostly the faces) was already on the decline (started with End of Z) with shiny skin, big chins and oddly shaped noses.
I pretty much agree with this list for the most part, my favourite Arc from Dragon ball is the 23rd tournament. For Dragon ball Z my favourite is a mix between the saiyen arc and Frezia arc. For GT it’s the baby arc and finally for Super (at least so far) probably the Tournament of power or the Moro arc. Looking forward to seeing your review for the Dragon ball Z Arc’s.
I think the other world tournament arc in Z had 2 pretty good things going for it. 1. It was a much, much needed break from the constantly pressure laid out from start to end of the cell saga. 2. Pikkon was, imo, an interesting enough character to carry it. Up to this point, this level of power was basically legendary power built upon legendary power that, as far as we know, no one has ever seen before or achieve. Pikkon came in and showed us that there are other competitive fighters out there as well elsewhere in the universe.
@@NCSfan-k4s The best way to get under our skin is to directly criticise people like Cell or make a very hot take on something like GT. Just a heads up for your next attempt.
The build up to Super Saiyan was so good. There was all the talking about the legend and such. And then there's the fact that transformations where shown to be a thing thanks first to Zarbon and then Freiza.
It's crazy how popular Dragonball became after so many years of absence. I mean, we got more Super Arcs than there are DBZ Arcs already and although not all of them are good, I still enjoy them and tbh I'm just glad that DB is back in my life. I even started buying Mangas again since my original 42 volumes need some expanding 😅 to truly be complete.
My favorite installation of the whole Dragon Ball Franchise is Definitely Classic Dragon Ball. No, not because of nostalgia or any of that, but I genuinely liked it. I loved the adventure aspect that seems to be missing nowadays. I have got to agree that the Budokai Tenkaiichis were AMAZING. I was blown away at how invested I was in the battles and how it actually meant something. I do like Z, GT and Super, but the fights are way too prolonged and have little meaning to me other than looking nice and boom boom Vegeta and Goku new powerup. Comedy is also great, and is plentiful inside Classic. Characters like General Blue, Mercenary Tao etc. were whacky but also very strong at the time. All of these minor characters like Upa and his dad were also very fun to watch (Was super happy they had a cameo in GT and Z). When I first initially watched it, I was a bit turned off due to how many episodes it was (200) and how most people disregard it but it ended up being something I was looking forward to watching each day. I still love the newer installations, Gohan and Trunks are some of my favorite characters. Was super cool to see Goku grow up through those years, I love stories which actually tell a story where a character grows and learns from the start till the end. DB-DBS will always have a place in my heart.
15:50 Bro I found the kaioken thing so funny because I used to do the exact same thing. Imagining myself multiplying the kaioken to complete that last lap was so cool to me. I still do it to this day and it still helps me out in my workouts. 😂

For me personally the Cell/Android arc is far and beyond my favorite in the franchise. I genuinely love it so much, I love all the Villains especially since all of them are threats and do some crazy stuff to the group and the ending is perfect
1:15: I bet you the whole cast knew about Goku accidental killing of Gohan by seeing his Oozaru form. It’s bad form that he had to figure it out himself so many years later against Vegeta. Some friends……..
I’d like to defend the ending of Goku Black arc and Jiren. The number 1 complaint about DBS is not doing anything different, we know Goku will get a power up and win at the end of the arc. Yet here it didn’t happen. And it’s very fitting for the story itself, plot wise he wished for immortality. No bs deus ex machina, no bs, he just was unkillable. From a thematic standpoint it was fitting that a mortal could defeat Zamasu, and for an actual God to kill him. Showing he was never truly a God, and that he was no better than a human either. Trunk’s timeline being deleted is fine too, I wish there was a bit more grit to it, but it fits Trunk’s character, that he has nothing left to fight for, yet he gives his all fighting to help others. A true hero, something like Spiderman. For Jiren, he represents everything Goku “wishes” for. To be the strongest, yet when facing it he doesn’t like what he sees. He fights for justice instead of himself, views his friends as tools, and lacks the pure enjoyment of fighting (a kinda Saitama effect of being bored once having it). Goku has to reach this peak by proving every single of part of Jiren’s character wrong. Fighting as a team, throwing justice out the window by teaming up with Frieza, and enjoying the process (Goku’s will kept him fighting while Jiren kept losing the will to fight). It also ties into ultra instinct, showing Goku’s pure calm heart while Jiren could never have such a thing, even though from the outside he looks like he should. Neither are S (or God) ranked by any means, but are much better than people give them credit for (maybe both of these being a really low A in a ranking)
Each arc in Z is thematically interesting, Saiyan arc was about nature vs nurture obviously Goku and Vegeta represent the themes but they both reject each other's own upbringing, Vegeta rejects Goku because he's a low class warrior by nature and won't accept him due to his nurture by earth, Goku rejects his nature because of who his people were but respects and appreciates his nurture because of how far he came, The Frieza arc was about taking the good and the bad aka accepting both aspects, notice how Vegeta was abusing his nature to get Zenkai but never truly respecting the nurture of Goku or the others because he was to obsessed with his own biology, Piccolo also abused his own nature and fused with nail to get a power up but he had truly appreciated it until the next arc, Goku was the only one who accepted his nature and nurture and was able to seriously either surprise, surpass and beat Frieza, " I'm a Saiyan raised on Earth" is a powerful line, The Cell arc was about the previous generation vs the new, Cell was an amalgamation of different previous strong warriors who came from the future to fight the past warriors, he's a walking contradiction he's a future warrior that has the genetics of beings from the past, that's why every person Cell fought prior to Gohan was set up to loose, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo Android 16 etc were beings from the distant past that's why Gohan the product of a Saiyan and earthling who isn't from the future had to save earth from this present threat, while trunks rid of the Androids In his present timeline because they were his threat, And with the Buu arc it came full circle Buu I like to think was a play on the phrase you are what you eat, he lost himself his original self the more fighters he faced which made him more bland but so are the heroes they have lost themselves to the point where in some retired, others have given up on fighting, and the ones who are still in the game are only obsessed with the next big battle and forgetting who they are, noticed how the Spirit bomb didn't work on Vegeta or Frieza but thematically it worked on Buu, because when they fought frieza and Vegeta the heroes didn't loose sight of who they were but with Buu it took the combination of everyone to bring them to accepting who they are but not forgetting where they came from always looking for the next challenge but keeping themselves grounded I love dragon ball ,❤️
Too add more to the Saiyajin/Cyan arc It had a pampered Gohan as a kid feeling abandoned and then turning that abandonment into Survival. The way Survival theme works in the arc was fascinating especially when it was working through the most privileged ones in Gohan and Vegita since they never had work so hard to do anything before in their lives. Now on to the 3rd section of the Artificial human arc with Cell It went from Cell wanted absorb the Artificial Humans to proving he's a perfect version of everyone else,Cell by saying he's going to destroy the earth believes he's enabling humanity while giving them time to prepare to protect their property(earth)... By doing this he wanted to get the best out of everyone that is cell prize and he's gambling with the prize(Gohan) just to get surprised,Cell living his life on the edge is a phase that came off as a Triple entendre which is addiction.... curiosity that killed the cat....Not believing he had any limits against the protagonist that is about wanting to break his limits and a another character who is scare of breaking that limit ... But i will say the Artificial human arc was the characters playing lottery speaking figuratively. Cell not just gamble with gohan with living his life on the edge but he got worst out of everyone to get what needed or suffer the consequences... Goku gambled living though his son developing this "sport father trait" ...Trunks had to gamble with traveling,And Vegita was definitely a slave off the leash to his ego after being one to freeza when he allowed cell to fill his ego up. I can go on how Gohan vs Cell symbolizes humanity swallowing itself .....Along with the abuse becoming the abuser....The events of this fight made vegita go through existential crisis at the end of the arc. Somebody said the Artificial Human arc was about empathy which i never throught of that but i do see that,But i always said selfish and arrogance theme colided with the plot of the arc. Then it gets deeper with control...Having it and losing it...characters believing or think they have control of the situation but in reality they don't have control at all of the situation or oneself...It was a lot of giving up in the arc from every Character...
Also Toriyama told the story of"This what happens when you used a weapon with so much force or misused without care it will get wash up or damaged"through Gohan. Mentally he was damaged at the time when he ascended then those events against cell didn't make him want to get stronger to become his dad successor he became damage goods before he gave it another try at it.
You're not alone, Mark. Me and my brother would go online looking for ways to master and conjure up our chi for energy blasts 😂 We were like 7/8. I think lots of kids did. It was always cool to imagine ourselves being able to do that. In fact, DBZ helped me gain an interest in certain eastern philosophies because of this.
I will always say the Saiyan Saga is the best thing Toriyama ever wrote. Just looking at the art and paneling you can tell he was so inspired and in a creative euphoria while he was making it. It’s not just Goku vs Vegeta that’s incredible about this arc, it’s the fact that the Raditz situation was so bad that Goku had to team up with his nemesis and even still they barely got him. It’s how Nappa spent almost half the arc completely decimating all the characters you got to know and love throughout the past arcs. The Nappa fight feels like it takes forever in the best way possible, by the end of it everyone is either exhausted or dead save for Goku who shows up to give us one of the best fights ever done. That saga is just too good
I will always love the Cell saga. Cell as an antagonist to me was so cool in concept and in execution with his imperfect and perfect forms. The fights between him with Goku and Gohan still remain to be one of my favorites and his og track( not the Bruce Faulconer one) is catchy and always manages to get stuck in my head
Just remember that while GT was meh a music tier list would be DOMINATED by it. GT has some of the BEST music in dragon ball and Dan Dan is easily the BEST DB song.
I have to totally agree about the ridiculousness of DB Super’s Battle of Gods arc - Goku and Beerus powering up and manifesting energy ‘dragons’… I figured it was metaphorical, but even so, I just thought, “What…??!!” 😂 The Goku Black arc had me on the edge of my seat with the mystery it brought to the table - Zamasu and his fall from grace (I like the imagery of him ‘falling’, almost into madness in a way, in the opening credits) was very interesting to me, and Goku attacking him and his Black counterpart after finding out they murdered his family was very satisfying.
It's always so strange to me. GT had some good ideas with being more focused on the Dragon balls again and SS4 is still by far the best looking transformation in the series but horrible execution and Super has overall bad ideas (2 tournaments that you knew were impossible to lose due to stakes for 1) but has some really cool moments. Maybe when the new series comes out eventually they will combine those 2.
@@AcxD93 GT: Good ideas, most were handled poorly, LOTS of wasted potential. Super: Loads of bad ideas with the occasional good one that just wasn't handled as well, less wasted potential if only because there was less potential to begin with.
I always love your Dragon Ball content, especially your character analysis’! I was wondering if you would ever make any surrounding the human Z-Fighter characters i.e. Krillin, Roshi, Yamcha, ect... Heck even Mr. Satan would be cool. Maybe even just one on the humans as a whole. The humans are so under rated/under estemated, and it’s cool that they don’t have a transformation/ easy way to power. (Outside of Krillins boost from Guru.) They used to have purpose and meaning, and now they are just used as jokes, and can’t even hold a candle due to power scaling even when they put in the hard training time. (Also side note, the only way I could see them become relevant again is if someone wished for humans to have the same unlimited potential as Saiyans, or if they introduce Universe 6 humans who just got their Earth revived.)
I remember watching the king piccolo fight for the first time, I lost my mind when goku blew through his stomach, I didn’t think that was something people were allowed to animate or something. It was honestly really cool.
I'm super happy that the Buu saga got some love. I've said forever that it has some of the most iconic moments in DB. Plus it easily has the best art and animation of any DBZ arc.
Buu saga is my favourite cuz it showed all the characters constantly getting hype power ups and no matter how strong they got they couldnt do a thing , buu being mentally disabled made it so much more chaotic if i was to rank the main arcs it would be 1-buu saga 2-frieza saga 3-cell saga 4-TOP 5-sayan saga (way to overrated imo , its good but not better than top 4) 6-goku black arc 7-beerus arc 8-universe 6 arc 9-gold frieza arc
I liked, and still like, Garlic Jr. arc because it had Krillin, Gohan and Piccolo save the day without Goku or Vegeta. And I like the mist thing, for... Other reasons. But yeah, it's not as good as the rest of the arcs up to that point. I'd put it in the same tier as the first arc.
The thing I loved about the buu arc was he was someone I felt could actually be a part of the team. I loved his an hercule relationship. I was all excited to see how pissed vegeta would get having to team with someone MORE immature than Goku
Saiyan saga for me. It introduces the Saiyan race perfectly, plus. The action, the training, everything is just so amazing, it also. Was the arc I first saw just scrolling through yt. I saw Gohan vs Vegeta Saiyan saga, and I started to like Gohan and now today he is my favorite.
The line of Freezer->Droids->Mr. Perfect Cell is just so good. I know that a lot of the rapidfire antagonist switching in the latter two is a result of editorial malfeasance but I love how it never lets you get your bearings until Cell attains perfection and just becomes Bug Freeza.
The Buu Saga is to the Dragonball series what Sonic Heroes is to the Sonic the Hedgehog series. A fun experience after all is said and done, but BOY there were some glaring problems. Also like Sonic Heroes, it could be considered DB’s last good and first bad arc, if that makes sense.
Yep. After that Dragon Ball never truly became great again and despite much effort to revitalize it in Super it didn't feel right due to how it keeps on repeating the same mistakes as before like more new transformations that devalues the prior forms all for the sake of MARKETING!!, focusing entirely on power levels that determine who wins or loses that devalue any potential and strategic usage Ki might have that doesn't revolve around transformations and finally the fact that all of this resulted in virtually everyone aside from Goku and Vegeta being completely underutilized and treated as afterthoughts by Toriyama is without a doubt one of the biggest frustrations of Dragon Ball Super and a painful indictment that Toriyama's skills as a writer has deteriorated quite a lot.
Original Dragon Ball really is wonderful. As I always say, OG Dragon Ball is SUPER underrated. Absolutely adore the comedy and adventure aspects of it all, as well as the overall lightheartedness of it all.😊 I do love the Frieza saga, though. EASILY the number one for me. DBZ really is incredible. It’s just so much fun to read!😄
when you talked about the kaio ken, it reminded me of something some athletes use. they say something internally to give them an adrenaline boost. after the boost, it wears down the body.
For someone who grew up watching Z I’ll be honest I’ve grown tired of it having an amazing fight lasting twenty something episodes and then half a season before another fight like that. The reason I like the ToP saga is because you see everyone shatter their limits in a fight that this time could cover a whole season by itself. With Vegeta evolving SSB and goku both discovering UI and mastering it against Jiren i think that the tournament was a perfect example of what dragon ball is, amazing fights and character shattering limits
I got into Dragonball through TFS as a kid and now I have to say, after diving into everything about the actual anime/manga/games and on, I can't believe how much I have absolutely fallen in love with this entire world. It is so amazing how much of an impact it has had on the world and our culture as a whole;to think this all started with someone learning to draw. To anyone reading this who's unsure of starting I'd like to say this. You may not reach exactly what Dragonball has when you start out but remember you never will if you don't at least try. Giving up before you start is unfair to yourself;you never know what you may create.
I basically agree with every ranking of this list except I think the Cell Arc should be Z tier. It's my absolute favorite, largely because I think Cell is the best villain Dragon Ball has ever offered up.
Agreed. Personally SSJ2 is my favorite transformation in the series. The electricity, and even SPIKIER hair, and the aura the gohan had against cell was all perfect. Even the narrator steps in to say that for the first time, cell had felt afraid. Cell was scared of Gohan. Gohan was so powerful that even the most powerful villain the series had yet seen was cowering in fear.
I don't agree cause that arc stated to become stupid, like I like the transformations but I hate the fact literally almost everybody had the chance to kill cell before he got his perfect form shows that they just wanted to make this longer. even krillin had a chance to stop cell from getting his perfect form
@@Mono-he1zn While I don't remember everything I do remember that the reasons characters let Cell transform were all in character and didn't feel like just plot devices (they still are that but more hidden)
I absolutely love the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai. Roshi making the path for the next generation, Goku vs. Krillin being surprisingly close, and Goku vs. Tien being a ridiculously edge of your seat climax make this tournament one of my all time favorite tournament arcs in all of anime.
There’s no need for a remake, the animation is fine. they just need to redo the scene where piccolo calls out sector 28, when on the paper it says 29. If you know what I am saying. (Unless it was intentional?)
Every time someone mentions how they started watching Dragon Ball from the Saiyan Saga, I feel fortunate here in Latin America we started with the OG Dragon Ball series and went through every saga in cronological order. It allowed us to see and enjoy Goku & co.'s growth from start to finish.
My aunties showed us og dragon ball as much as they could but the arcs that were airing at the time in channel 5 were z so that was my real first intro whether I wanted it or not I only saw og more when I came to the US lol
Pretty accurate tier list. I personally enjoy the manga version of Goku Black and Tournament of Power better in the manga. Few reasons: They actually made use of God form, Goku using Haki, Beerus vs the Gods, Kefla vs. Gohan. UI was treated more as a skill than a power up. Frieza arc >>> Cell Arc is always a discussion but I agree.
The android saga / cell saga is my favorite... Every character was mysterious and fascinating. The boo arc is pretty damn close to be honest, it's a lot of fun and I really loved the twists on traditional concepts.
If you haven’t talked about it, it would be interesting for you to review all of the manga for dbs, I would think the manga would be better in most cases
gt might not have been a good series but the ending of gt is the best ending they could ever give to the dragon ball series , its by far the most powerful emotional and satisfying ending , it captures all the jouneys from the beginning of dragon ball to th ending gt , the way goku sacrifices himself to avoid any more disasters and becomes one with shenron , the bgm narration nostalgia everything just sync up so well , if dragon ball ever gets an ending i would like to experience an ending like this
Making goku go away and not visit his family for 100 years was dumb and made no sense The ending is overrated and it was the only thing gt had going for itself
@@saiparayan4047 wasn’t the ending pretty vague though? All that was said was that he had to go with him. It never really gave a reason if my memory serves me well.
@@sphjinx1448, Goku died. That's what happened. I don't want to sound rude, but I understood this very well as a child when I watched it, and that's why I cried like never before or after. Goku died, but because of his countless heroic deeds (and possibly because he swallowed the Four Star Dragon Ball), he experienced what Buddhists believe is a post-morten apotheosis. In other words, Goku transcended the mortal realm and became an entity of sorts, a ghost or a god, as you prefer. This is why he became immune to Omega's ki blasts. This is also why he had to leave at the end, but was still young 100 years later when he appeared haunting the grounds of the Tournament of Martial Arts.
Its funny cuz, if anything, I consider the 2nd Tenkaichi Tournament arc the best out of the 3. Every matchup was good and it was a step up from the 1st one in every way imo. The first one really only having the final battle between Goku and Roshi being super fantastic. The 2nd one had MANY. The 3rd one went downhill imo and some of the fights weren't as fun to watch. They felt less interesting for some reason. Plus Tenshinhan's character development and Roshi's wisdom REALLY shine in this story arc!!
It pleases me to see someone else who holds some of those early Dragon Ball arcs in high regard. It’s more often than not people I’ve talked to about Dragon Ball write-off all the early stuff as nothing more than a stepping stone to Dragon Ball-Z. The world martial arts tournaments are great, though! and one fight doesn’t take half a season of anime to get through 🙂
90% is garabge tier. The only great arcs are S rank mission vs Zabuza Chunnin exam. Sasuke rescue arc, wish shino was there instead of Choji. Orochimaru invasion. and thats all the rest are ok or bellow mediocre. Pain arc had great moments, but also bad, the shino clan was underused, Anbu was beyond useless. some with Root, i hate Kishimoto for making shino, anbu and root useless like bellow garbage useless.Naruto and DB suffer from mediocre writing skills, good action bad story telling. How can you have a character like Shino and kick him out from the story. The Uchiha wank is a bad as Saiyan wank, bot authors loved to make them more OP. With Bleach at least there where moments where Kenpachi, and other captains shine. With story like naruto is either Hashiram cell, Uzumaki or Uchiha having millions of hacks.
The Buu arc is basically a collection of great moments. It has a lot of really good stuff in it, but it fails to come together in any real cohesive whole
I would put Cell arc at the top, and Freiza and Saiyan second. Buu and Tournament of Power in third. One of the reasons I love the Cell arc is due to the mechanics it introduces and plays with. The idea that Goku and Gohan decide to perfect SSJ1 instead of trying to push beyond like the others is cool. Also, the twist that Gohan is stronger than Goku because he was measuring his energy against his own was brilliant. It is these small mechanics of ki and energy that make it super interesting to discover. I wish they would do more things like that, which is also why I liked Blue as a form (energy control) and UI. It's like hacking their Saiyan biology. I like to see them push themselves to the limit by optimising their biology. I don't know if it is just me or not, but I love that.
Honestly fair enough point, but Mark looks at it more so from a writing standpoint and how interesting the ideas shown in the arc are. The saiyan arc and namek arc are so tightly written compared to the cell arc. Gohan being potentionally stronger than goku has been put forward as a possibility since the beginning of z with him doing substantial damage to Raditz while goku and piccolo are struggling. Cell while also being an amazing villain doesn’t stand close to vegeta or frieza in my opinion. Vegeta was basically an exact opposite to goku, and frieza was absolutely ruthless and cold. Cell had some of that mixed in, him being a combination of all those fighters and this being created from trunk’s mistake made him interesting. He just never hits the high that vegeta and frieza do, atleast to me.
I liked the android arc for many reasons, but one thing that made perfect sense is that Vegeta realized there had to be a level beyond Super Saiyan. I thought that was plausible. But to take Super Saiyan as far as Toriyama has now, I think is has taken away from plot and character development greatly. And you can see it clearly with Super.
@@SpectreStatus I mean yeah which is why I enjoy ultra instinct as a concept, it's not just a saiyan thing, it's basically just a mind set that's ridiculously hard to acheive but also makes sense why goku has it. I think aside from blue most super saiyan transformation aren't done too bad. Super saiyan had a bunch of build up and was the first, super saiyan 2 was supposed to basically be gohan's moment in stepping into his father's shoes and was also hinted/pivotal, super saiyan 3 was a bit weaker but had an amazing entrance and made sense when you consider goku would never not reach higher even in the afterlife, super saiyan 4 was kind of a step back reverting back to the great ape origins of the saiyans (which i personaly think made good sense and was really cool), god was weaker than the rest but had a little bit of lore it also changed the look the most besides 4 ( for better or for worse), i think blue is the weakest but it being a higher level of control has it's own quirks. For all the memes the only real thing that kinda gets me is the time they remain useful. I don't think the quantity is the main issue, it's just how quickly they become irrelevant. 2 was supposed to be this huge thing, to show the possibility of further beyond + gohan's big build up/pay off since his latent potential in the beginning z. Yet by the next arc is literally replaced and useless not even 1/3 the way in. Super Saiyan 3 never canonically actually does anything to major antagonists. 4 probably had the most relevancy for time but appeared late, and was also dragged down by the fact goku was a kid every time he wasn't in that form. God literally just lasted a movie and was brought back less than super Saiyan. Blue stood pretty long but after Revival of f also fell off(most people who were blue level were usually way beyond blue level). Ultra instinct currently seems like it's gonna last quite a while, which I honestly really enjoy, especially watching vegeta taking his own path for once. Sorry for the long asf comment.
@@Lokisif34 yeah cell feels like he has lots of room for improvement. he represents what should be a perfect (heh) villain to me with him being a mix of all the greatest fighters and something that represents the old generation as a result that is surpassed by the new in gohan, but his personality feels lackluster. i would probably give him a more flamboyant showoff persona to really hammer in his arrogance and belief in perfection
@@Vapor817 Well I feel like he has that. He gets mad because he feel disrespected he has to fight gohan, his own hubris leads to ssj2 gohan, he is in constant denial even though deep down he knows ssj2 gohan is stronger. It's just that it's not as distinct as the past 2 villians. He's still pretty great, but you can't take him any further. If he's too cocky that makes a lot less of a threat. He's not like frieza who destroyed an entire race out of insecurity. He's not even as ruthless/sadistic either, he just wants perfection and for everyone to know he's above them, frieza on the other hand could have faithful subjects and still torment them just for fun. Vegeta was absoultely power hungry and also fit that arrogant stereotype, but it was the dichotomy of him also being a saiyan. Also being a fighter, basically someone who's walk an entirely different path than goku. What made frieza so terrifying is that it looked like there was never an end in sight, that no matter what the z fighters tried he was this dark force looming over them hellbent on making their last moments a living hell. Ssj2 gohan had less impact on the villian than ssj did since the timing is different. We had no idea what an ssj entailed in the namek arc. Several times vegeta said he was one or goku was one. It had great mystery but even in dire straits we never see it. So after a climatic battle where we think it's over for it to get introduced in such a raw way and seeing a ruthless side to goku made it one of the best pay offs in anime history. Ssj2 didn't have the mystery (we knew it would probably build off the normal super saiyan), nor did cell feel like an unstoppable threat. Cell could have been wiped out several times before he even reached perfect. There was no such case for frieza.
I absolutely love the intro with you and giru, I have nothing but distaste for gt, and even in the games I avoid any gt related things including ssj4, but I respect the fact you put it in here since it is a part of the story even if not canon. Much love and support as always TNM
The scene of vegeta crying to goku was the thing that made me love namek, watching the toughest guy around who would not even consider goku a worthy rival a few months ago is begging in his last moments to kill frieza, the line “he needs to die by a saiyan hand” goes so hard, vegeta did not think they would revive him so he knew those could be his last words and wished that kakarot his rival took the win against frieza Namek is peak
Liked the list a lot! I’d actually put the Cell Saga at number 1. I think, without knowing that Toriyama was told by his editors to go through a bunch of antagonists, it’s not that obvious. Also, you haven’t checked it out yet (obviously), but I think Granolah as a character is the best in Dragonball since Beerus, and before him Cell.
You're not alone. I also tried to fly like Videl, attempt the kamahama, and would mimick doing the Kaio Ken when playing sports or working out for boost. I'm pretty sure this was common for kids who watched DBZ lol.
I quite like the Buu arc. It has a lot of iconic moments and I really like how it book ends the story with another tournament, showing how far the characters have grown from early Dragon Ball. I’m also a sucker for Gohan trying to live a normal life. I agree with it’s A tier placing. It’s good, just not as good as the other Z arcs. The Future Trunks arc on the other hand is one that I did not like and it’s what killed any motivation for me to finish Super (I did watch that whole arc though). I honestly just felt that Goku Black was a less interesting Baby in concept. I know that’s probably sacrilegious to say, but I really did not enjoy that arc.
For me the Buu Saga is 100% a God Tier Arc, I loved the slice of life sections at first with Gohan to the amazing culmination at the end, and the Animation is the best you see in Z, definitely an amazing arc imo
Episodes with Gohan hanging out with Videl is my favourite part of Z honestly, no joking. The only big problem i had with entire Buu saga is how disconnected it is from anything else. It's probably the most random story in entire franchise and could've happened regardless of any previous events in DB/Z.
I adore the Cell Saga. I think it feature possibly the best introduction to any villain in anime. I think it's emotional, gut wrenching, terrifying, and every kid's wet dream. It's genuinely the stuff of childhood, but also gets so dark that when you watch it as an adult, you genuinely question how the fuck you were allowed to watch this stuff. But it also plays with themes of passing the torch and New vs Old, which were executed really well. It develops the major characters very nicely, the plot is tightly written, and the story is well paced, and it's just so much fun. I will never forget that final showdown between Gohan and Cell for the fate of the Earth. That being said, the Frieza/Namek saga is undoubtedly the peak of Dragon Ball imo. I don't think it's ever gotten better since and it never came close before. The Frieza Saga intercuts between three different timelines: Goku's journey to Namek as he slowly comes to terms with his Saiyan heritage and learns to start accepting his nature, Namek with Krillin, Gohan, Bulma, and others as they try to survive and find the Dragon Balls to save their friends, and the villain Frieza as he tries to find the same Dragon Balls to gain immortality. It's cut so well that, regardless of how long the saga is, and trust me it's fucking long, it's still perfectly engaging and episodes fly by. Frieza is a fucking amazing villain. He's by far the most hateable villain in Dragon Ball due to just how ruthless, pathetic, cunning, and sadistic he is. He's single-minded, ego centric, and so ridiculously powerful and evil that, even with his simplicity, he ends up being a hugely memorable and iconic villain, one that has stayed in the minds of future generations. The themes of nature vs nurture are continued from the Saiyan Saga, and developed in new and interesting ways, arguably even more nuanced than in the Saiyan Saga as Goku must now manage to find a good balance between his nurture and his nature. It's tightly written, extremely well paced, characterizes everyone incredibly well, and has one of the most iconic moments in animated history. So yeah, it's gotta be #1
Can’t believe you didn’t even mention Piccolo when talking about the Frieza saga ! His fusion with Kami and Nail to go on to beat TWO of frieza’s transformations was god tier epic and most certainly deserved a mention !
My top 6 Dragon Ball Arcs 1. Battle of Gods (I like the movie better) 2. Universe Survival Saga 3. Goku Black Arc 4. Buu Arc 5. Frieza Saga 6. Cell Saga I started watching Dragon Ball in 2020 with Super, so I'm very very fond of the Dragon Ball Super Arcs.
To me the Freeza saga is peak Dragon Ball, it had a ton of build up, peak action, character development and the transformation that revolutionized shonen. The android saga was great but it was the beginning of the super sayans show, where if you wasnt a super sayan you would barely get any screen time.
imo Cell is better
Yeah because that was meant to be the last arc. And the culmination of the whole dragon ball story. But after seeing how successful it was, Toriyama was asked to continue the series.
Goku vs Frieza was all raw brute strenght, no regeneration bs.
@@Scorpiofrfr no it was never confirmed to be stop spreading misinformation
Agreed beyond existence
Sad thing about GT is that the idea for some story arcs are actually fantastic - like Baby being the personification of Saiyans violent past coming back to bite them.
And of course the concept of Shadow Dragons where the heroes overusing and constant reliance on the Dragon Balls comes back to bite them.
These are some great ideas but the bad execution is what ruins them. Such a wasted potential.

MID BALL IS TRASH
That's what I liked about GT. It allowed us to see the consequences of the Saiyans' rampage across the galaxy. MID BALL IS TRASH

Gt was the first thing I watched
@@Gum327 My god, lol
Moro arc restored my faith that I can still enjoy new Dragonball stories.
If Toei alters some of the flaws of the Moro arc and/or improves on it, it could genuinely be the best arc of DB since Cell, if not, rivaling Cell.
For me Cell Saga is also the best
@@geovanilopez5459 Are you Goku fanboy? He was much weaker than Vegeta Oozaru even with Kaioken... Vegeta lost to Z Team not just Goku.
for me too, the best arc in DBZ
I just started Dragon Ball 2 weeks ago and finished the King Piccolo arc. I think you did it dirty in B tier man
One thing I noticed about GT’a arcs is the theme of the past coming back to haunt the present.
And of course, the Shadow Dragons is the result of overusing the Dragon Balls all this time
thats more then super did
It's honestly a much better thematic direction than what Super did, OG Dragon Ball and Z were about a journey through childhood and adulthood respectively, so it makes sense to go forward by addressing the consequences of ones actions as a young adult after they've moved forward in life to their later years.
@@juliand.breakdown463 literally the gronala arc is about the past try again tho
Gohan was an afterthought for 80% of it.
@@clydu91 But I feel like that makes Gohan’s sudden burst even more hard hitting, especially when you consider that we watched his growth over time and even then we didn’t see his full potential
not to mention what Cell represent metaphorically
They don’t make em like that anymore

when goku met his grandpa gohan i actually cried. the voice actors and the animators actually did an incredible job. like u see goku smile so much but till then you could see and hear how truly happy he was seeing his grandpa. i love that scene and kid goku so much
I have a soft spot for the Buu arc.

So while the ending could make sense with any part of GT, it makes the most sense after the shadow dragons arc.
shadow dragons would've been the perfect arc to end Z, instead we got shitty buu saga which was utter trash.

They literally give Goku a magic shot of water to make him stronger lol its wasn't a placebo in the King Piccolo arc
Yeah, but that wasn't for many years and it wasn't planned; Toriyama always wrote as he went, never planning ahead.
The 22nd Tenkaici was so full of story and incredible action. Definitely one of my favourites anime arcs of all time
I genuinely loved the Saiyaman portion if the Buu arc, and I think a lot of the problems with the arc overall could be fixed if Buu absorbed Goku and Vegita and Gohan fused to fight him in the end
That sounds pretty interesting, actually.
Interesting idea. I think Toriyama wanted Gohan to be the hero but the fandom forced Goku on it.
Who would Gohan have fused with?
@@JayKay-on2gr that’s misinfo Toriyama stated in an interview that at a certain point he realized Gohan wasn’t meant to be the main character.
@@JayKay-on2gr Mr Satan obviously
Story aside, the GT aesthetic is AWESOME. I LOVE how that show looked. Also, the theme. Dan Dan kokoru hikariteku is an all time banger
I liked the color palette of GT a lot and it's still tranditional cel art, so thats always great of course.

30 seconds in I just have to say what a touching amazing intro we had there, uh it’s just uh.

Greatest saga of all time
Each arc in Z is thematically interesting, Saiyan arc was about nature vs nurture obviously Goku and Vegeta represent the themes but they both reject each other's own upbringing, Vegeta rejects Goku because he's a low class warrior by nature and won't accept him due to his nurture by earth, Goku rejects his nature because of who his people were but respects and appreciates his nurture because of how far he came,
The Frieza arc was about taking the good and the bad aka accepting both aspects, notice how Vegeta was abusing his nature to get Zenkai but never truly respecting the nurture of Goku or the others because he was to obsessed with his own biology, Piccolo also abused his own nature and fused with nail to get a power up but he had truly appreciated it until the next arc,
Goku was the only one who accepted his nature and nurture and was able to seriously either surprise, surpass and beat Frieza, " I'm a Saiyan raised on Earth" is a powerful line,
The Cell arc was about the previous generation vs the new, Cell was an amalgamation of different previous strong warriors who came from the future to fight the past warriors, he's a walking contradiction he's a future warrior that has the genetics of beings from the past, that's why every person Cell fought prior to Gohan was set up to loose, Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo Android 16 etc were beings from the distant past that's why Gohan the product of a Saiyan and earthling who isn't from the future had to save earth from this present threat, while trunks rid of the Androids In his present timeline because they were his threat,
And with the Buu arc it came full circle Buu I like to think was a play on the phrase you are what you eat, he lost himself his original self the more fighters he faced which made him more bland but so are the heroes they have lost themselves to the point where in some retired, others have given up on fighting, and the ones who are still in the game are only obsessed with the next big battle and forgetting who they are, noticed how the Spirit bomb didn't work on Vegeta or Frieza but thematically it worked on Buu, because when they fought frieza and Vegeta the heroes didn't loose sight of who they were but with Buu it took the combination of everyone to bring them to accepting who they are but not forgetting where they came from always looking for the next challenge but keeping themselves grounded I love dragon ball ,❤️
This is such a great comment
I agree. But can you please tell your community to stop bringing Goku in topics that aren't about their tiny brain.

There’s no need for a remake, the animation is fine. they just need to redo the scene where piccolo calls out sector 28, when on the paper it says 29. If you know what I am saying. (Unless it was intentional?)

Agree. Androids were/are the best.

gt might not have been a good series but the ending of gt is the best ending they could ever give to the dragon ball series , its by far the most powerful emotional and satisfying ending , it captures all the jouneys from the beginning of dragon ball to th ending gt , the way goku sacrifices himself to avoid any more disasters and becomes one with shenron , the bgm narration nostalgia everything just sync up so well , if dragon ball ever gets an ending i would like to experience an ending like this

MID BALL IS TRASH
@@NCSfan-k4s Shut up. Nobody cares.
Glad, you're back! ❤
Canon is pretty meaningless in Dragon Ball; it just means “what I don’t like”.
The scene of vegeta crying to goku was the thing that made me love namek, watching the toughest guy around who would not even consider goku a worthy rival a few months ago is begging in his last moments to kill frieza, the line “he needs to die by a saiyan hand” goes so hard, vegeta did not think they would revive him so he knew those could be his last words and wished that kakarot his rival took the win against frieza
Namek is peak
I'm so glad you're giving Moro the love it deserves, it is such a good arc.
It should’ve been S tier. No way in hell is it in the same A tier as buu lol
@@leultrainstinct406 it's top of A. It's not as good as the tenkaichi budokais
Really? Even as a clueless kid I thought they were rushing through antagonists, it felt like a villain of the week formula
Tell me you have watched the Tournament of Power at least. If not, I 10000000% recommend
@@King_Bates00it’s an alright arc, but it has too much padding and unnecessary fights with irrelevant side characters.

MID BALL IS TRASH
Episodes with Gohan hanging out with Videl is my favourite part of Z honestly, no joking. The only big problem i had with entire Buu saga is how disconnected it is from anything else. It's probably the most random story in entire franchise and could've happened regardless of any previous events in DB/Z.
@@Lyserg1260 MID BALL IS TRASH
Absolutely loved this! Thank you!
He only fused with Nail on Namek. He fused with Kami against the androids. But good point that it should be mentioned.
