- We spent $100 at a luxury mall food court eating pizza, fried chicken, kabobs, and doughnuts. This luxurious shopping mall in Los Angeles has opened a brand new gourmet food hall, with prices in line with with their luxury stores like Bvlgari, Cartier, Gucci, Hermes, and Versace. With tax and tip, we ended up with the most expensive food court lunch we've ever eaten. Was this upscale mall food worth it?

Wait, a 20% tip when you did ALL the work other than cook? They didn’t serve, didn’t add plates voluntarily, nope, this was the equivalent of a drive thru and no tip other than one who cleans the table
Tipping when you’re ordering yourself? Things are out of control. Maybe the cleaning staff should get a tip there but not the owners of those take out serve yourself, order yourself, pick up your own plates food courts.

I would never pay a tip at a food court. Tips are paid for service you receive at a sit down restaurent not someone who puts your food on a tray!

If you can only afford Taco Bell’s value menu , then so be it.
I only tip 15-20% if I'm being served by a wait staff, im shown my table, someone taking my order while im seated, refilling my water/drinks, gets me more napkins, a side of ranch, ETC. If they just hand me food, maybe $1.

It's a thing now, trying to squeeze as much money from us as they can.
No tipping unless it's at a sit-down restaurant or at a small local owned place.

Derek's facial expressions are an absolute riot when he's enjoying the food. I'd like to see when he dislikes the food and the expressions there. Catherine needs to audition for voiceover work, her toneality is really close to hypnotic.

I hope you go again for falafel❤ Love when Derek is sharing sheer bliss of his fried chicken❤ There is a place that is considered a hidden gem called the Veranda. I believe at the Four Seasons. It is so very romantic and truly beautiful with mind blowing ambience and of course amazing drinks and food❤🎉

$75 for lunch and it didn’t even look very good. I went to an upscale food “court” in Minneapolis a couple of years ago. The food was ok but nothing to write home about. It was more about the ambience.
the westfield mall in san fran is saying good bye. so many stores inside have closed or left, pulled out of the city. their food court here was very large too.
That pizza is in the style of the square pies at L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn

This is a great mall to visit which is local to me. Interesting you came out here to visit. While youre out here, might as well visit the South Coast Plaza which is my favorite mall in the area and the one I go to regularly. Hope to run into you there.

I will steer entirely clear of them. You just spent an amount of money for lunch that is equal to nearly one-half of my monthly food bill.

@Derek and Catherine Hi guys, here's a place for you 2 to check out. The M Resort has a Sunday only buffet touted as the most expensive buffet in Vegas. All you can eat lobster, beef wellington, etc. for $100 per person.
Those tenders were soooooooo big. Plus freshly fried. All the rest of the food looks great as well 😋

Honestly I don’t even feel a type of way when I press No Tip. In fact, it’s actually disrespectful that they’re adding this gesture and are trying to pull a fast one on customers. Imagine asking for tips at food courts or at any type of fast food restaurants. That’s wild.

Good choices. Chicken looked scrumptious! Tipping makes a big difference especially when the staff see the tip beforehand and in the case of the food court they do. The tips are pooled and that means that everyone involved gets a piece of the action and I think that is great. Thank you for tipping.j
