    Nice video. Thanks for making and sharing it. Very useful. Just one thing, if I may. My advice is not to use epoxy to patch the leak. Empty and dry the tank thoroughly. Rub the paint off down to the bare metal where the leak is. A wire brush/sandpaper will do the job fine. Using a 150W/300W electric soldering iron (or a small flame burner) and soft fluxed core solder, solder up the leak. It'll never dry out and peal off like epoxy eventually invariably does.

    I've just bought an Aladdin series 25 for £1 at an auction. Thank you for your very informative video 👍🏽 It was the best one I have found on TH-cam. I will now be able to fit a new wick with ease 😃

      We to have a 25 series i don't think they're too popular on here seems 37 is. Ive been trying to change its wick and having problems with the kog going up and down the rack to lower and higher the wick. Also the little protruding spikes on the wick that slips into the housing for the wick they won't stay in place where their supposed to be. So the wheel wont move the wick. All isnt as easy as it looks on here well not for me anyway.

    Nice heater thanks for sharing. The tank leak might be fixed by a gas tank sealer that is sloshed inside the tank. Sealers like that are used for antique car restoration.

    If you spray the inner tube with paraffin first and then connect to the inner sleeve your adding lubrication to the wick and the tube and you will not have all that messing about trying to put knife blade into the wicks under skirt. If you need to use any form of pushing tool use a blunt piece of wood this will not damage the wicks skirt.

    After three years of use I've just fitted a new wick to my wonderful Blue Flame series 32 heater (NOS on ebay) following the instructions in the video and it it was not the easiest thing ever. Then it occurred to me to look at the box and sure enough there were instructions on fitting! There are some significant differences. Here we go:
    First of all the wick should be inserted into the TOP of the carrier, tails first, so that the bottom clips/teeth of the wick engage with the bottom slot and the top clips with the top slots, on both sides of the carrier. The ends of the wick tails will now be about 1/2" below the bottom of the carrier.
    Next, the ends of the wick tails should be grasped together with the bottom of the carrier and both drawn gently down, together, over the centre tube of the tank until the bottom of the wick tails are level with the top of the fuel tank. The wick carrier should then be held in position with one hand while with the other hand you should carefully PULL THE WICK UP so that both sets of teeth engage in the UPPER slots (I wondered why that slot was so much longer than the lower slot).
    Finally line up the rack on the wick carrier with the winder cog and gently push down until the winder cog engages with the rack. Turn the wick down with the winder, replace the burner basket and flame spreader. Leave for an hour before lighting.
    These instructions are quite difficult to follow but the video definitely helps. And I hope the above helps all Blue Flame heater fans! 😀 Extra! Just tried the pulling up the wick business - I wonder what difference it will make?

    chears mate just bought the 25 model with safety devise..For 70 quid in good condition .best i could find.. most i have looked at are rusty old buckets. going for silly money . eny way i think it is also important to let people know that these aladdin stoves will burn for 16 hours on full tank [ one gallon ] never let it run dry . as i did years ago . had the same model in my bed room woke up at 9pm and i thought it was the middle of the night ..the walls were black and thick smog from top to floor witch i had been breathing in for hours [ poison ] my face and hand where black also..and of course i felt like sh.. had a window ajar but forgot to turn of the stove . ok also i noticed these stoves seem to focus most of the heat in one area, There for, a good stove fan [ mostly used on wood burners ] are a great way of spreading the heat. if you have a vallor 207.stove...a full tank will last you 8 hrs ...stay safe guys

      Yes, they are a bit of collecot items these days, prices getting silly. You want to heat up the room but turn them off before going to bed just in case. I believe thats how japanese use their kero heaters.

    We recently bought a second hand Aladdin blue flame heater series 25. I watched your great video in how to change the wick and began doing so but the pins on either side refuse to stay in tgeir positions im having terrible trouble with this problem as i can't get the new wick installed i must have taken the wick out several times to try again and now I'm stumped cant face anymore trying. I've ordered a new wick carrier and a complete new handle which has the wheel on the end to wind up the ladder on the carrier thinking perhaps it needs these parts replaced. Any advice would be so very much appreciated honestly as I'm at my witts end with it. Thank you. Maureen

    Hi, I have just fitted a new wick to my model 37. But when I fill the tank, no kerosene gets to the cavity where the bottom of the wick sits. Consequently it does not get wet. Any suggestions?

    hi there, can you please tell me if it's worth it collecting panda , kookaburra and wildlife serious canadian maple leafs 1 oz silver coins or just stick with low premium bulliln? I'm collecting a little bit of everything but the reason why I am collecting those " semi numismatics" is because regardless of the silver going down , those simi numismatic coins are going up, will those be more valuable after a month of a economic collapse?
    I will use my cheap silver for border but I will also like to make a profit later on.
    do you have any idea if those will be valuable in the future or do you think this is a scam since there are not miss matic?

    I know this is an old video, but I have a couple of questions. My wick adjustment knob is stiff as hell and it looks like the previous owners broke the actual plastic knob (stem looks fine from the outside). Any advice to get it less stiff? Is it possible to remove the whole adjustment stem?

    And one more maybe dumb question but how do you know which is the model number? I just got one and it says on the little metal plate thats on the frame and it says aladdin 3300 but then on the right it says no. H2201. I love this little guy and need a wick for it because there wasnt one in it. I got mine because of this video of yours and i think hes beautiful and cannot wait to be able to use it! Thanks again everyone! 👩‍🦳Sonia

      Hello Sonia, you got me with that question. I think both are right if that makes any sense, one is the model 3300 and the other one is the number. If I remember correctly that how it goes but theres a bunch of different aladin mdoels.

    Paraffin and kerosine is the same thing isn't it?

    • @nunyabizness199
      @nunyabizness199 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As the other fellow said, they are different, however in the US we do have pearl or 1K kerosene which is every bit as good as the paraffin. The only difference is I think the paraffin "lamp oil" has a bit less smell when burning and perhaps a bit less heat.. However is more expensive. 1k kero is $8-$10 per gallon, the paraffin 8-10 for two quarts.

  • @nunyabizness199
    @nunyabizness199 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Okay so very nice, but that is the 3th different type of wick I've seen for almost the same exact heater.. 😁

    • @davidjgomm
      @davidjgomm ปีที่แล้ว

      The Blue Flame heaters series 37, 32, 25 and 16 all take the same wick, the one in the video. The earlier 15 and 8 series take the wick type that has "buttons" rather than teeth/clips. Although there may be two types of button design! Both kinds of wick are still available.

  • @MadazzaMusik

    • @TheModernSurvivalist
      @TheModernSurvivalist  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      These models are a bit smelly. All kero heaters will have a bit of smell, but some are better than others.
      What you want is a Radiant Kerosene Heater. These are the more modern types, burn cleaner and project heat better too.
      Link to one model in Amazon amzn.to/2T21rOL
      These burn much cleaner and theres just the slightest scent that really doesnt bother most people. Heres a video I did showing how these work
