Hate to say it, but Dimash is always true to himself. He's remained an independent artist throughout his career with his own production company. He sings and composes whatever strikes his interest at the time. He moved to LA for some time last year because he wanted to work more on blues and jazz for a while. When I've Got You was one of 5 pieces he composed while there. Smoke is the next one we are waiting for. He's supposed to have a new album coming out but he's incredibly busy at the moment with two concerts in Budapest and Istanbul coming up in May and he's also assembling a new team to help with his recent appointment as Global Ambassador of Migration for The United Nations.

When I first heard him, I cried through his songs. I was left speechless and couldn't find the words to explain the impact his music had on me. I've never been so spiritually moved in my life. He gave me a new perspective and brought joy into my life.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. "The fans" in the audience had never heard of Dimash before this performance. He was totally unknown in China and had been brought in as a "wildcard". He performed this song as the first song for the first episode of the season. When the show aired, Dimash became an instant celebrity in China and needed bodyguards from that moment on. To this day, Dimash is a huge star in China and I believe he is known over there as their " foreign little brother", which is cute considering he's 6'3" tall.

So this song was written long before Dimash was even born. It is not his song, but he made it his with his ability to perform it. He caught the attention of Igor Krutoy and others who began to write songs for his huge vocal range. He showed an interest in music. His family nurtured his talent. From the age of 5 or 6, his education had a major focus on music. Throughout his education he learned music, composition, theory, voice, performance etc. He has a masters working toward a PhD in music. His natural talent was nurtured and encouraged. He understands the mechanics of singing. Three things are very important to him: Country and the Kazakhstan culture His faith. He is a Muslim. World Peace. He has participated in various forums and public events in peace and peace has been at the core of many of the songs he has written. He said that he decided not to become an opera singer because it did not allow for interpretation and innovation. While his neoclassical repertoire is large, he is also a huge fan of Michael Jackson. He has recorded pop songs and has even rapped. His latest music has a jazzy feel. His family is still very much involved in his career.

He didn't compose this. He did compose the vampire video song. Of course, he always improves on the original. This performance made him an overnight success. He woke up with a body guard assigned to him. He thought they were kidding.

Just to get a feeling for the fan base - This Chinese pro singing competition in 2017 only put up subtitles in Chinese and the language of the song which is French in this case. He had 13 or 14 performances during this show. So the "Dimash Fanclub Germany" translated his songs from this show into a number of European languages and properly added the subtitle options to the videos and posted the enhanced songs on their channel. There was a digital glitch in the original recording of Sinful Passion at Sochi in 2018. The Zominion channel digitally repaired the bad mp4 frame/frames and the song runs with no sign of any problem on the Zominion channel.

This was his first performance on the Singer show in China 2017. He was able to get wider exposure. It changed his life. And all of ours. There would be masterpieces and concerts full of his mind blowing vocals and magic on stage. Hes a beautiful human being besides.
Since that competition, Dimash has extended his head range right off the piano keyboard into whistle range. He did not write any of the songs he performed in the competition. Go ahead and little further in that competition and listen to Opera 2. He plays with the audience a bit and performs that song much better than the person who wrote it. I think you’ll enjoy it.

This was the first song, of the first episode of season 5 of China's I am a Singer. I am a Singer, took established Chinese artists and had them compete by singing covers. And this song is a cover, not an original. The musicians/singers were allowed to sing originals but only once or twice per season. Basically, a Chinese singing reality show and Dimash was the wildcard thrown in. An unknown musician in the midst of established Chinese performers. He didn't know he would blow up the way he did after the airing of the first episode. He was thrown into the spotlight.

Hate to say it, but Dimash is always true to himself. He's remained an independent artist throughout his career with his own production company. He sings and composes whatever strikes his interest at the time. He moved to LA for some time last year because he wanted to work more on blues and jazz for a while. When I've Got You was one of 5 pieces he composed while there. Smoke is the next one we are waiting for.
He's supposed to have a new album coming out but he's incredibly busy at the moment with two concerts in Budapest and Istanbul coming up in May and he's also assembling a new team to help with his recent appointment as Global Ambassador of Migration for The United Nations.
He's also been studying film direction while in LA.

@@anahills3836 After replying, I gave your post some thought and came up with this idea: Since we all know how generous Dimash is, with many charitable programs of his own already, and with his wealth already growing at this young age, it wouldn't surprise me that Dimash is studying on his own money, and returned the scholarship for the benefit of another, more needful, student's benefit.
When I first heard him, I cried through his songs. I was left speechless and couldn't find the words to explain the impact his music had on me. I've never been so spiritually moved in my life. He gave me a new perspective and brought joy into my life.

SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. He was just 22 years old at the time.

Here you can hear a large part of his vocal range, as well as an incredibly awesome Kazakh instrument. The Kobys. The man who often plays the kobys in Dimash’s performances is the best on this instrument and a good friend of Dimash. His name is Olzhas Qurmanbek. Stranger is one of my absolute favorite songs. I get goosebumps every time I hear it.
Stranger was written by the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. If Igor Krutoy is there, the song was also written by him.The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
He wrote this song and others especially for Dimash’s wide vocal range.

"The fans" in the audience had never heard of Dimash before this performance. He was totally unknown in China and had been brought in as a "wildcard". He performed this song as the first song for the first episode of the season. When the show aired, Dimash became an instant celebrity in China and needed bodyguards from that moment on. To this day, Dimash is a huge star in China and I believe he is known over there as their " foreign little brother", which is cute considering he's 6'3" tall.
It is too bad you did not choose the more rock heavy SOS/2021 Digital Concert version but this fan favorite performance was the turning point of Dimash's career. He became a Mega Star overnight.🤩

The people in the audience hadn’t seen him before; they were music industry professionals in China who are the judges for this Chinese talent show and were told to give him a warm welcome.. Dimash was invited as a wild card contest by a producer who heard he was huge in Kazakhstan. The people in the green room watching the monitors were other contestants who would be performing after him. The competition was for professional singers, no unknowns or amateurs allowed.

That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
This competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to TH-cam ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

So this song was written long before Dimash was even born. It is not his song, but he made it his with his ability to perform it. He caught the attention of Igor Krutoy and others who began to write songs for his huge vocal range. As a toddler. He showed an interest in music. His family nurtured his talent. From the age of 5 or 6, his education had a major focus on music. Throughout his education he learned music, composition, theory, voice, performance etc. He has a masters working toward a PhD in music. His natural talent was nurtured and encouraged. He understands the mechanics of singing.
Three things are very important to him:
Country and the Kazakhstan culture
His faith. He is a Muslim.
World Peace. He has participated in various forums and public events in peace and peace has been at the core of many of the songs he has written.
He said that he decided not to become an opera singer because it did not allow for interpretation and innovation. While his neoclassical repertoire is large, he is also a huge fan of Michael Jackson. He has recorded pop songs and has even rapped. His latest music has a jazzy feel. His family is still very much involved in his career.

As you've gotten this one, which was the first of his "breakout" series of performances on the Chinese TV competition, "I am a Singer - 2017", maybe jump to his latest release : his own original composition, "When I've Got You" (his vampire epic!) which he also directed as well as composing? Then work from both ends into the middle.

Just to get a feeling for the fan base - This Chinese pro singing competition in 2017 only put up subtitles in Chinese and the language of the song which is French in this case. He had 13 or 14 performances during this show. So the "Dimash Fanclub Germany" translated his songs from this show into a number of European languages and properly added the subtitle options to the videos and posted the enhanced songs on their channel.
There was a digital glitch in the original recording of Sinful Passion at Sochi in 2018. The Zominion channel digitally repaired the bad mp4 frame/frames and the song runs with no sign of any problem on the Zominion channel.

IF you are going to dive into his huge rabbit hole, I suggest you continue with this competition in China "I'm a singer 2017" Dimash all performances with lyrics, when he became famous over the night after the SOS performance and needed bodyguards to protect him from people. The audience was judges and the people in the little room, backstage was competitors just like Dimash and they watched Dimash on a little TV screen. There was a rule in the 2017 competition, that only Chinese people could win the contest, and Dimash was a guest singer (wildcard) and became second best. But they changed the rules in 2018, and Dimash came back. OR you can just do requests, but always remember to put the lyrics on English because of his phonetically skills to sing in like 16 languages after his concert in Malaysia in 2023. Since that competition, Dimash has extended his head range right off the piano keyboard into whistle range. He did not write any of the songs he performed in the competition. Go ahead and little further in that competition and listen to Opera 2. He plays with the audience a bit and performs that song much better than the person who wrote it. I think you’ll enjoy it.

This was the first song, of the first episode of season 5 of China's I am a Singer. I am a Singer, took established Chinese artists and had them compete by singing covers. And this song is a cover, not an original. The musicians/singers were allowed to sing originals but only once or twice per season. Basically, a Chinese singing reality show and Dimash was the wildcard thrown in. An unknown musician in the midst of established Chinese performers. He didn't know he would blow up the way he did after the airing of the first episode. He was thrown into the spotlight.
