Hi. I too have the same problem and found the fuse with an open circuit. Like you discovered the power stays on unfortunately. Keen to know how you get on with the further repair if you succeed. Video was really helpful to this point. Thanks.
Hello from Germany! First started the problem i couldn't turn it off and later Because I had to toke the Battery off to get it off one day died. I am glad to see your video I see now I am not the only one with this problem. if you do ever fix it please share it!😀
Thanks to the information here, I have now successfully repaired 2x DMR 115. The capacitor C13 with 1000µF was also defective on my devices. You could already recognise this because they were bloated.
I have just finished repairing of my DMR115. Exact the same problem. The C13 was bad. This capacitor is probably the cause of the mosfet and the fuse. Because the energy to charge this cap runs through the mosfet.
Wow, good work. Thanks for the tip about the 3403 SMD mosfet. I had not been able to find the type. Does anyone know the current rating of the fuse? Regards Alexander
Hi! I have the same problem and if I bridge the part next to the socket the radio works. What’s now the defect part? Is it 105 ohm SMD resistor like the two parts above? Or is it something different?
I got mine is not working with the battery is come up BATTERY LOW...I did change few batterys still same and if I plug in is working ....maybe you have a clue or something...thanks...nice video 👍
Hi Graham...thanks a lot for this helpful video. My DMR 115 have se same problem. I've checked the smd fuse you show in your video and it's open. Did you know which kind of smd fuse it is? My fuse is blue and marked with a T on it, but how many amps ? Thanks for your help. 9:25
First the damn thing wouldn't turn off all of a sudden. I took the battery out, put it in and it turned on all by itself. But I couldn't turn the damn thing off again. I repeated the procedure. Same result. Then I slid another 18V battery in. Fully loaded of course. Ever scince then - one hour ago - I haven't been able to get the damn thing to turn on. I bought it under two years ago and it hasn't been in any really hazardous environment yet. In fact, most of the time it's been in the kitchen - or the WC as I like to hear music when I take a crap. This damn thing is also a piece of crap and will now be going straight back to the place I bought it for a refund. Reading all the comments below is a warning to me not to take this model anymore. Greetings from Germany where the score England - Holland is now 1:1.
Hello. I have a same radio and same faults. By watching your video I manage to fix power failure, but not on/off button. Have you manage to find this fault? Thanks
Not yet, but interesting to hear that you have the same power button issue. I'm hoping to revisit this when my new fuses arrive. They're coming from China though, so it won't be for a little while.
@@SpareTimeRepair faults for my radio happened when I was using USB charging port for whole day. There fore best place to look for this fault is to fallow USB port paths
@@kizzjd9578 Problem is transistor Q8, mark on transistor is 3403, there are 2 pieces near by conector from battery, check them and you will find that one of them is short circuit between drain and source. It is MOSFET AO3403, this is DC switch. Replace it and it will be ok.
You are an amazing craftsman. I learned a lot from you. Thank you.

Wait for sec Torx I hope my failure is the same. … unit work 😂 have any body value for the fuse ?
Brilliant video, thank you

Has anyone every found the fuse online to purchase? Finding it difficult to do so, any help is appreciated!

I had to take a guess on the fuse value, so I wouldn't be comfortable recommending one.
hey man, if you need to bridge small gaps like the one with the fuse, just do an solderbridge its way easier
Did you manage to solve the problem with the power button?
I tried with my multimeter but I’m guessing it won’t read so low values. What multimeter are you using or what do you recommend
I'm using a Fluke meter that I repaired in another video, but any half-decent meter (£40+) should be fine for stuff like this.
What size torx bit is it please 🙏
3:23 - it's a T15 security bit.
3x100 flat blade will get those security screws out 👍
How odd, mine wouldn’t turn off the last 3 times I used it, tried to turn it on after the weekend and nothing, dead. Time to buy a new radio I think
bravo
