This style steamer is not really designed for cooking rice, as there would not be enough water present within the steamer for the rice to absorb; the necessary amount of water for rice would damage the steamer. This steamer is perfect for doing just that! You can use one tier for fish and the other tier for buns, which allows you to cook both at the same time with no extra pots or pans to clean up.
