I've had my car for two years and had NO idea WHATSOEVER that there were headlight washers! I've NEVER heard this mentioned before, despite extensive research about the GT86. I wondered several times what the purpose was of those rectangles under the headlights. Honestly, I didn't believe you lol. I thought it was some sort of joke or gag video. So I went for a drive and tried it, to see for myself, and I'll be damned, there ARE headlight washers! Who knew???? Well, YOU, apparently :)

I was getting the odd spray from the front quarter panel every now and then and thought I had a leak in my window washer tubing! Saw a reference to headlight washer and searched youtube and got this video! Thanks for info. My 86 came back from the smash repairers today (they did an awesome job). One of the pieces that went missing in the accident was the rh headlight washer cover door (just a void left - no indication of what it was there for either LOL). Had the car for 2 1/2 years. The rhs headlight was $1400 AUD apparently! I had a stone-dent on the bonnet and this has been repaired - made all the inconvenience of the accident worth-while. I was exiting a car park and the driver in CX5 was 'scratching her leg' whilst turning into the car park and came full on head on into me into my lane. Auto and General Insurance were great and the techs at Sommerville Smash Repairs (Nerang, Gold Coast, Australia) did an amazing job.

Nice to hear about the repair and I had the exact same problem with my bonnet been chipped and so I was happy when I got the front of my car repaired, glad you found my video helpful, stay safe out there.

thank you very much! i was always wondering why my headlight wahsers squirted when driving in the wither month but not in the summer. so basically the "auto" setting turned my headlights off in the summer

Wait which button do we press? You didnt mention the button clearly? Or we dont have this for my model?

You don’t press a button all u need to do is turn the headlights on fully and then pull the window washer stick it will wash your windows and your headlights at the same time hope this helps!!!

Sorry I don’t think you can, If it’s a big issue for you, you can probably get it mapped out so it can’t do it. Thanks for the comment

Literally ran out to my garage and checked this, I have a 2020 86 GT, couldn't get this recreated, anyone have ideas? Is it a Euro thing?
