I have the dreaded 'chicken skin" around my eyes so putting concealer there is like trying to get the butter to stick to the turkey before you cook it lol! I always spray a little setting spray on my sponge and dab over my concealer. Really helps keep it in place and looking smooth. 😊
That's milia not chicken skin. I had both and can't remember what the cause was for it, but i got rid of milia permanently. Have a Google search to see what may cause it for you.

I have learned so many tricks from you, Zabrena, so thank you!! I just have to say "YAY" to the way you apply your eyeliner. The one thing I notice in women my age (60ish) is when they wear a dark, black eyeliner all the way around their eyes. I'm sure it's the way they have always applied eyeliner, but I think it adds 10 years and we should be changing our makeup application as we age. I don't put anything under my eyes anymore, and it really does open up my eyes so much! ❤
If your foundation is cakey crusty to the point of giving up (not just overpowdered for setting spray to help) try a 2 phase, oil/water spray (i used body sprays and micellar/oil eye makeup remover, just shake and spray) it will help transform the cake into a glowy finish. Also you can put a pale pink blush over too orange/warm bronzer. Tinted compact powders, banana powder also work. If watery eyes, put the pencil liner between your lashes, not on the actual waterline. Same effect, no transfer or tears. After the liner hack, no need to zig mascara at the root and get transfer, focus on the tips of lashes, roll and wink into, they'll stay curled and big cause theres no extra product weighing it down. Use the v part of a bobby pin to stamp a stencil of ann eyeliner wing following the bottom lashline Use your skin tone tinted powder to blend eyeshadow (skin products are more forgiving and less pigmented then eyeshadow) Bake the sides of your nose and cheek are directly under your undereyes (helps with nose slimming and if you have hollows under the eyes, no need to dry out the thin skin, but push back your cheeks, that are thicker and oiler so can handle powder) If you over line lips, make sure to bake/mattiffiy/powder on the perimeter, meaning your actual lipline and the fake wannabe one. Then apply your liner on top. Looks more natural and is long lasting. You can keep a glossy texture on your actual lips but be mindful not to drag it to the lipline, cause the light reflect gives away your scam You can get the apsolute most beautiful lip stain by blotting gloss. Whether it a pigmented vinyl lip (Maybelline had a ratchet streaky purple one that turns into a most beautiful bordoux stain when blotted) or any color lipliner topped with a clear gloss. Extra tip if you blott it a bit agressive against a tissue it makes your lips look bigger and really puts in the pigment.
I do my concealer then I only do foundation on the parts that the concealer didn’t cover. I used to “double layer” and this led to a more cakey look. Also I’ve gone back to “old school” tip my mom taught me. Get a regular lipstick (Revlon cream super lustrous is my favorite) and use it as a cream blush. Choose a shade without glimmer, frost, etc. Then use a tiny bit on lips and blend in with fingers to just stain lips for a more natural look.
You can also do it the other way too and "blot" your lipstick with your fingers after applying lipstick and tap that onto your cheeks as blush. Works really well. Also, there are Way More colors of lippy than blush and it's easier to find your perfect color.
@@lorindav5549 That's how I do it! Apply the lipstick, then "tap" it onto the lips with a fingertip, and use what I blot away to tint my cheeks. Sometimes I just mix primer and lipstick on the back of my hand to make a "gel" blush, or a lip mask and a matte lipstick to make a tinted lip balm.
I am in my 70s and appreciate your tips, especially the one about where to place the concealer. As I have gotten older I have changed how I wear makeup. I focus mainly on foundation and cheek color to give my skin some glow.
Combining a little bit of highlighter or similar with that concealer on the outer corner of the eye can really help to brighten up the area as well! I used a few dabs of the Essence camouflage+ concealer with a small dab of ELF's Halo Glow and it looks marvelous! 😍❣
I let my (very creamy) concealer sit a few seconds before blending to provide a bit more coverage. Thank you for your very helpful tips! A Blessed Easter to you and your family.🐑😊
My favorite makeup tip is Wayne Goss 13 dot foundation application. It's wonderful. I feel my foundation is evenly distributed. And it helps it last longer.
Great tips, I’ve been doing my winged liner from the bottom for more years now than I want to admit as well as only taking my liner part way in on the bottom, will definitely be trying the mascara only part way in on the bottom, great idea, I’m still not using concealer, but I’m sure I should be… I’m so worried it will crease and go into my fine lines making me look older than I already am…
I use my setting spray after every step. I have dry skin and with me doing this I never look cakey and just melts everything together. So I spray after foundation, then after all my cream products, then after I powder and finally after the rest of my powder products. I use a glowy spray but then do a matte at the very end.
My concealer always creased under my eyes no matter what I used until I started applying it to only the inner half where I really needed it. After blending it in, I go back and buff toward the outer half.
Hello Zabrena, the trick I learned from Risa does Makeup is setting your concealer with a little bit of setting spray. Put on your concealer spay the top of your hand tap your finger into the spay the tap & set your concealer. It's a game changer for me. I don't remember where Risa got it from , but I do itvall the time now. 😊
Hi Zabrena, what wonderful tips you shared in this video, thank you so much, one tip I do is when pencil eyeliner is applied to the top eye lid ,I set it with a small amount of setting powder,( prevents transfer), then eyeshadow on top. Love Katherine xoxo
Great tips! I always switch the placement of my outer corner shade and my lid shade. It helps to make the eye look more open and makes fine lines appear less pronounced.
I always press translucent powder onto my brows so my pencil goes on smoothly and stays on all day. I also dust on translucent powder onto my eye lashes (eyes closed) before mascara to "fatten" them up so my lashes look voluminous.
Hi, Zabrena! As a fellow redhead, I love your makeup tips, due to eye makeup being so crucial to looking good. Thank you. I just discovered this wonderful stuff called Wild Lash by Urban Decay. I use their eye pencil and decided to try the Wild Lash. It's all natural, healthy stuff, keeps your lashes soft but provides great coverage, especially for those with sparser lashes. Doesn't smudge, comes off easily when needed. Thank you and try this stuff out. I swear by it now. Only problem is it's a little more expensive. But my ( older, fewer!) lashes are worth preserving. Thank you.
I personally like to use a light eyeliner on my lower lash line, like a nude, a white, a light gold or even a light pink. I have one from NYX that I think has been discontinued. Which makes me sad because that is my go to and that also really brightens up the eyes.
-Clear lipliner. Works and don't need a bunch of different colors. (I use Maybelline because that's what's available locally.) -Use a little moisturizer on a cotton swab to remove makeup mistakes under your eye (like mascara). It doesn't create raccoon eyes later like oily makeup removers or waterproof micellar water can do later in the day. -After applying lipstick, tap your first 2 fingertips on your pouted lips and then tap your cheeks for a flush of blush that goes with your lippy color. Plus, not wasting product on tissues and there are tons of lippy colors as opposed to blush. -Warming eyelash curler with the hairdryer before curling lashes. Works great just don't get it too hot and burn yourself.
This tip came to me several years ago from someone that was selling a makeup line called Jaffra. When putting on mascara, always apply to the top of your lashes so that if you are speaking to someone and they are standing up and you're sitting down, your lashes look the same as if you are face to face. I always do that and have been doing this since I got that tip. I'm speaking of your upper lashes. Not sure if I explained well enough, but I always do that.
@redsoles I had the same problem. I now take a small brush with a really tight straight edge to it, and wet the brush, then stamp it in eye shadow, I put it underneath the water line. More into the lashes. Then on just the outer corner I go over that with a darker pencil . I have less smudging and it doesn't rub into my contacts.
Hi zabrena really usefull tips .. can you plz use air brush for apply your foundation and do all day wear test with one side regular foundation brush or sponge.
I tilt my head back or look down into a mirror to applyt mascara. My lashes are long and my eyes are hooded so I get smudging upward easily or hit my lid with the wand easily. Titling my head moves my lashes away from my lid.
I always use the liner to my half ater line bc I get infected very often from putting liner in my waterline but I never realized that opens your eyes .. you're right in that appling concealer with your fingertips will look more flawless. Happy good Friday to you and to your family. God bless you ❤❤
Mine: 1) always apply a creamy blush first on your hands and then use a brush to apply it on your face.2) apply as one of the latest a pink blush gently on the zygomatic bone it will help to smooth the effect of blush on your cheeks (and ev. contouring)
I cannot see myself going without the dry sponge makeup brush cleaner from jcat beauty. I can use one brush for multiple colors and then just worry about blending and eyeliner. Also, the tip I got from Alex Anele on how to keep a curl without waterproof mascara is amazing. I just use the stick part of a qtip and apply eyeshadow primer to my lashes after I've curled them. Then I make sure it is not clumpy, let us dry, then go in with my favorite mascara- usually brown! I also LOVE the jcat beauty disposable mascara wands for different effects. The wands make such a huge difference. Thank you for your tips! Also hand sanitizer/wipes to wash your hands while you're applying because makeup gets all over our hands and I don't do my makeup near a sink cause everything would fall in lol. But I find myself needing to clean my hands off often especially when I'm using my fingers here and there. Thank you for the tip on the eye cream concealer with hyaluronic acid. It's AMAZING. TRULY. Especially when applied with my finger, I need the TEENIEST AMOUNT AND IT WORKS. You rock, Z.
For some reason cream blush separates and pills up on me no matter the base underneath.. also the loreal magic primer (I think it's called) is a near perfect dupe for the tatcha primer in my opinion. Great tips!
@@niinafletcher I think I've tried almost everything lol rare beauty, Milani, nyx, Maybelline, face theory, glossier. For some reason my face really doesn't like makeup. A lot of foundation do that to me too, even if I don't have any moisturizer on underneath. I don't get it☹️
@@parisinthe30sx - Just curious, what kind of skin type do you have? I was going to recommend the Milani cream blush. Are you using the one in a pan or the liquid version in the tube? I have to set my cream products with a little powder. They will all vanish on me in about a hour if I don’t! Do you usually try doing that? I always have to set my under eye area with powder. Even though I don’t use concealer, I still create in that area! It’s always a heart breaker to take a lot of time to apply makeup, only to see it’s gone an hour later. 😢💔
How about the Elf cream blush? That one breaks apart, too? I meant to also ask if you are applying powder before applying the cream products? This will cause almost everything to break down and look weird 🤨
One tip for heavy handed blush appliers is to put on your lipstick before blush. Pale lips fool us into thinking we need more color on our face then when we get our lips on it can be overkill.
Your hair looks beautiful 😍 is your color natural? I'm a natural ginger but it's more orange with a lot of different colors in it from white to auburn all mixed lol.
As a redhead, I simply must know what that warm brown eyeliner is that you have applied to the outer half of your waterline. It's stunning! Please share! Thanks so much Zabrena! Longtime fan and fellow ginger!
If you have the problem of lipstick migrating to those creases around your lips, listen up. After foundation, take a little primer and press it into those creases. Let it dry and then pat a bit of powder on top. Be sure to dust off the excess. Now do you lipliner and color. Should keep everything in place. Also baby oil is a great way to remove mascara before you wash your face. Been doing it for years.
Late to the party, but love your videos!! I keep a baby wipe handy and wipe my brushes off with it after I use them. I really don't have to deep clean them often!
Hey girl great tips always let’s see so here’s one when I get blush I like a lot I always put some loose powder over it it look great like that ❤ Happy Easter 🐣🐰 hun I hope you have a great weekend before I go another tip I do is blow dry heat on my lash curler it really works better like that
When I want to have a certain color of blush, light but still there, I put a dab of moisturizer cream on my cheek and then dab the lipstick color of my choice and it blends smoothly. Especially on older skin…lots of blessings my sister, if we don’t meet before we will meet in the air soon. ❤️
Happy Good Friday, Zabrena!! You look sooo beautiful!! Thank you so much for the great tips!! Have a wonderful and blessed Easter with your family. ❤ Xx🙏
I have started applying setting spray on my face FIRST! I learned it from Robert Welch. It makes a barrier between the oil your face makes and the makeup.
For a white person I have pretty almondy shaped eyes and I tend to only do individual lashes because I can really get the shape I want, all lashes open but I’d like mine to cat eye or siren or just go with my eye shape and enhance, you know? But one thing I’ve found is that I need one or two short lashes applied to the very outer corners and that gives a way better lift then if it were a long. It’s really weird. But try things! You never know what weird adjustment might help whatever you’re doing!
I like the blush trick, because I always applies it too much on the cheeks. However, for applying the concealer is not working for me especially because I have big brown eyes (when some people think Southeast Asians had no charm/beautiful whatsoever, some people even Westerners called me beautiful because of my eyes. By the way, us Indonesians always called European and American as Westerners. So...yeah) and the waterline tricks also not working. Because every time I did that, people would scare to see me and avoid me at all cost. So, I apply the kajal eyeliner like Arabian girls did: along the waterline and tightline.
One tip for opening the eyes I read years ago was putting black mascara on top lashes and dark brown on the bottom. But who wants to have 2 tubes of mascara going? I barely use the ones I've got.
What a wonderful video especially for beginners. I knew all of these but it has taken a few years to compile all of these tips. This was done in one video. Perfection. Where were you, Zabrena, when I needed you a few years ago? 😂
ive never used bronzer, i instead use blush and cover my face in it in all places a bronzer will be placed including eyelids, temples, forehead, checks, nose and chin. it works for my skin tone :)
Happy Good Friday, Zabrena❣️ I’m so in love with our Lord and Savior ❤ I found recently- instead of using any concealer under my eyes? I apply a color corrector (thank you for recommending the Neutrogena 🙏) and then a medium coverage foundation over the top. Instead of using a ordinary light powder to set it- I use the L’ORÉAL powder foundation to set it! There’s no creasing in sight! For reference, I am about to be 45 this year and I adore having found something that takes back those years! No more looking like the Crypt Keeper’s twin ❣️❤️🥰
I have the same problem. I only use brush tip liquid liner for my lids, I find it's easiest to correct it using that. Also I'm guilty of pulling the skin a bit tighter to make application easier, but I know I'm not suppose to do that too much 😅
I’ve seen where people do a quick powder liner and then for go over it with a liquid liner. The powder is a guide and helps the liquid liner from bleeding as much
My top tip of all times is never ever ever use an eyelash curler while proping your elbow on your makeup table. I did, it slipped and I pulled all of the lashes our of my right eye, just like that, they were gone. Lesson learned.
I know most people know this trick, but my eyelashes would never stay curled and went straight down after applying mascara. If you get waterproof mascara they stay curled all day.
I make up tip I 've learned is to apply all of the liquid/ cream products to your face. Then, use a setting spray. Once that's dried down, go back with anything that's powder. From blush to eye shadow. Finish off with a setting powder, and a second layer of setting spray. Really helps to make your make up aaallllllll day.
As a contact wearer, I wish someone would do the best make up brands for contact lens wearers. Throughout the day, I struggle with a greasy film on my contacts or either I’m constantly rewetting my contacts, and then my make up smears all around my eyes, and I look like a raccoon.
I also have that crepey skin on my eyes, especially on my eyelids. So a lot of eyeshadows, especially shimmer or glitter, accentuate ever the texture on the skin. I literally laughed out loud when I read your comparison to applying butter to an uncooked turkey. This is EXACTLY what it is like!!😉

Put a TINY dab of concealer under and above the highest point of the eyebrow arch. It adds a little lift the same as the out eye technique,
If your foundation is cakey crusty to the point of giving up (not just overpowdered for setting spray to help) try a 2 phase, oil/water spray (i used body sprays and micellar/oil eye makeup remover, just shake and spray) it will help transform the cake into a glowy finish.

Bake the sides of your nose and cheek are directly under your undereyes (helps with nose slimming and if you have hollows under the eyes, no need to dry out the thin skin, but push back your cheeks, that are thicker and oiler so can handle powder)

Your hair looks beautiful 😍 is your color natural? I'm a natural ginger but it's more orange with a lot of different colors in it from white to auburn all mixed lol.
Yey! New Z video! You look gorgeous as always! ❤️🌹
As a redhead, I simply must know what that warm brown eyeliner is that you have applied to the outer half of your waterline. It's stunning! Please share! Thanks so much Zabrena! Longtime fan and fellow ginger!
God bless you, Zabrena!!! Much love and thank you for all you do for us 🥰🥰🥰
If you have the problem of lipstick migrating to those creases around your lips, listen up.
Hey girl great tips always let’s see so here’s one when I get blush I like a lot I always put some loose powder over it it look great like that ❤ Happy Easter 🐣🐰 hun I hope you have a great weekend before I go another tip I do is blow dry heat on my lash curler it really works better like that
Same! I always add translucent powder over my blush for a more refined, coming from within look.
When I want to have a certain color of blush, light but still there, I put a dab of moisturizer cream on my cheek and then dab the lipstick color of my choice and it blends smoothly. Especially on older skin…lots of blessings my sister, if we don’t meet before we will meet in the air soon. ❤️
I really like the eyeliner colors you used. What are the brand and shade names?
Have a happy Eastter. 🌷🌸🌻
Thank you Zabrena for this video and your tips.
❤ Happy Good Friday! Great tips! Thanks so much! 😊
I love your videos they’re always so informative and useful. Thank you!
I always run my hands under very warm water before I apply concealer and foundation.
Beautiful as always
What a wonderful video especially for beginners. I knew all of these but it has taken a few years to compile all of these tips. This was done in one video. Perfection. Where were you, Zabrena, when I needed you a few years ago? 😂
Less is more for concealer. Only use a tiny bit and then spread it out more. Less creasing that way.
ive never used bronzer, i instead use blush and cover my face in it in all places a bronzer will be placed including eyelids, temples, forehead, checks, nose and chin. it works for my skin tone :)
I lay a makeup brush along side my nose to mark where to start my eyebrow fill
Happy Good Friday!! Hope you have a happy Easter Weekend! Jesus is Alive!!!
Isn’t it wonderful that death doesn’t have any say over our lives? Jesus Christ is Lord of All❣️❤️🙏🙌
Great tips! Thank you!! 😊❤
Love these tips!😍
Awesome!
"Way off in Funkyville" This is just one of the many reasons we love Zabrena!
Happy Good Friday, Zabrena❣️ I’m so in love with our Lord and Savior ❤
I found recently- instead of using any concealer under my eyes? I apply a color corrector (thank you for recommending the Neutrogena 🙏) and then a medium coverage foundation over the top. Instead of using a ordinary light powder to set it- I use the L’ORÉAL powder foundation to set it! There’s no creasing in sight! For reference, I am about to be 45 this year and I adore having found something that takes back those years! No more looking like the Crypt Keeper’s twin ❣️❤️🥰
Loved the video
Yes he is. Amen
thanks for vid pretty lady . be safe
What wonderful ideas! Thank you so much!! My only advice is to fellow gals with dark circles under the eyes: ALWAYS color correct!
Happy Easter 🐣🐣🐣
I love watching your videos 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Short but sweat. I would like a tip for liquid eyeliner for dry wrinkle eyelids. Which sounds funny, I'm only 37 . But it's the only issue I'm having.
Lesson learned.
good tips!!!!❤fla
I know most people know this trick, but my eyelashes would never stay curled and went straight down after applying mascara. If you get waterproof mascara they stay curled all day.
I make up tip I 've learned is to apply all of the liquid/ cream products to your face. Then, use a setting spray. Once that's dried down, go back with anything that's powder. From blush to eye shadow. Finish off with a setting powder, and a second layer of setting spray. Really helps to make your make up aaallllllll day.
❤❤❤
As a contact wearer, I wish someone would do the best make up brands for contact lens wearers. Throughout the day, I struggle with a greasy film on my contacts or either I’m constantly rewetting my contacts, and then my make up smears all around my eyes, and I look like a raccoon.
❤❤❤🤗
My eyes are incredibly uneven and hooded so a wing couldn't possibly be the same, same with my brows.
Hello beautiful Zabrena 😍
