If you had to rate your confidence out of 10, what do you currently think Manchester United's chances of having a successful summer are at this moment?

4 or 5 for me. Structure up top is not properly in place and that has to have an effect on transfers. I think some key decisions will be different from the Murtough era but not too confident that we can get the players we need to bounce back from last season.

One of the the few fan channels that has measured, non sensationalist takes. No crazy repetitive transfer coverage contradicting yourself every other day.

The one thing I got from the interview is he won't be affected by the noise from the fanbase after a few games when we aren't back at the top. He has set high goals however with a realistic expectation about the work and time investment that's needed. With time I think he will turn united around and bring us back to the top.
But united need to be at the top after a few games.
I think he's being realistic but ambitious. I'm encouraged by everything they've done, and everything they're trying to do. I don't feel discouraged about not solving all our problems in this first summer. I think all we need to do this summer is strengthen enough to get back into the top 4. That's the short term goal.
Yes, take the long haul route Jim. Management science on managing in a crisis : know that things will get worse before getting better, get the right team in place, communicate the truth with confidence and give hope to your team. You have done all these now and we are with you, remembering we are now at 1.6bn global fan base, and growing.

As I've said repeatedly years & years of pissing money away on players that we shouldn't of signed is now taking it's toll impacting us. This isn't on INEOS this is all down to the previous ownership & their sheer incompetence of running a football club. It's gonna take a while to sort the mess out behind the scenes balance the books etc. The new direction we're now heading in is how it should be. Sir Jim is just being realistic & basically warning us fans not too expect any wild activity that the days of overspending are long gone. All in all that Sir Jim interview speaks volumes of just how bad it was under the Glazers & Ed Woodward. This is where time & patience is needed more than ever

The Todibo situation is ridiculous and I can see another Bosman trial coming UEFAs way. What worries me about the Ratcliffe interview is the two or three SUMMER windows! Are we going to completely ignore the winter windows?
The January window is usually rubbish. Last year it was a complete write-off, hardly anybody did any business. So, yeah, it's the summer windows where most of the work will be done.

During the jan window usually get the idea where the respective clubs are perfromance wise..hence itngets a bit cumbersome to sign players

Good vid up to date good to here Ratcliffe talking sense he’s a top business man no doubt he will not be afraid to speak is mind to anybody premier league or the rest looking forward to some interesting arguments in the coming seasons
two things need to happen next season:
1. Two solid signings that can build our defence. (CB,LB or CDM). Dont go for money hungry clubs,steward signings are needed. and sell few players that are not up-to the standards.
2.Less injuries giving us a consistent starting 11. (to this happen, we need squad rotation and trusting youth after min 70-75 and can only do this by winning 2-0 or something..at least for btm 10 teams)

That interview really did make me feel way better about INEOS and Jim. He showed that he is realistic about the process and quite set on the right things; tackling the things that need tackling.
If the gardening leave stuff wasn't a thing we would see faster progress but I'm already seeing the right things with these prices going round. Looks like United finally have their heads screwed on and are offering sensical amounts for the players we've already been linked with. It's also nice to see these talks going on right at the start of the window, much like we saw with Fergie and Gill. Transfers should be wrapped up long before the season begins and it's been a big issue for me that that hasn't been the case the last 10 years.
I'm way more optimistic. Thought they were just another group of sharks with no sense before ten Hag was staying. I don't think that anymore, just wish Jim was younger.

Honestly I think the whole multiclub system should not be a thing. It risks completely changing the footballing landscape.
All the loopholes should be closed off. The best way I can think of is saying you can't transfer between teams belonging to the same owner at all.
And I'm down with blatantly abusing whatever loopholes are currently open to draw attention to the issue. Signing Todibo would be a nice bonus.

Ive been saying for a while now, we're sogning 3 players this season, then when we sell our players, perhaps we'll add 1 or 2 more players this season.

Absolutely would be brilliant, sadly not going to happen though. Yoro is going to Madrid realistically, he’s said in this interview that we’re not signing players 70-80m or above meaning Neves is off the table. Zirkzee we’ll get done I reckon. Olise will go to another club this season as well so let’s hope we can somehow get it done.

Of course it can't be all done in one transfer window,todibo doesn't workout there's branthwate and John locumi,having a squad that can finish in the top 4-5 with a good attacking style of play is good enough and you can't expect more honestly,SJR said it a lot we have to be patient.

What don’t think about the interview? At least we are hearing something on the sporting project these days. We have a part owner that actually talks like he knows something about football… Just need to get some deals done to back up the talk.

I have no confidence in this transfer window Sam. It seems we have impediments everywhere you look. We need to sell players to have a chance to buy new ones. With some hard work in Mang't, we might get it in the next 3 windows as it stands. Questions..

Ok.... football is now a business. But, Teams with far less income and expenditure on Player signings are better placed than Manu.
The problem is not so much investing in the best available Talents.
The notable problem for United is that there has been zero time for the Team to actually 'gel' and appreciate the strengths of fellow players/team mates.
One regular player gets injured, another is selected and then placed 'out-of-position' and is expected to perform miraculously.
Put the Players in their correct positions and let them perform to their best abilities. Give the squad a chance to create an understanding to perform more cohesively. Remove the reliance of the 'single-striker' mentality - predictable and ineffectual. In any one First Team, there are 5 players that can (and have) scored goals. We need 3 declared attackers/forwards to interchange.
I think we should do it like City in this case, since the rules are ridiculous and It's legal. We are that desperate for a good CB who is worth the price, with Varane leaving for free. If United want to be succesful they can't afford to play fair.
The rules need to be changed
I wish we can, at the very least, just sell all the deadweight at the very least this summer/winter markets. All the players with crappy attitudes, and those who are dragging the team down with their lack of effort / commitment.
We need to force them out. None of them want to go.

That's cos he does. He & his peoole have full control over all sporting aspects within the club. He's the single biggest share holder within United. The reason why the Glazers own more it's cos it's a collective but fact is Sir Jim owns more shares than Joel Glazer & Avarm Glazer when u break it all down. So technically yes Sir Jim owns/runs the club so yes he's making all these changes that can only be food for our future

The Todibo decision is absolute garbage when Savio's deal to Man City was allowed. The very concept of this policy was to eliminate any scenario where one club has basically locked in a signing at the very instant the player would have been sought after. Man City has violated this in the brightest of daylights, but erm actually Savio is a Troyes player 🤓👆. Doesn't change the fact that absolutely NO ONE other than City would buy him.
Personally, I believe in the Multi-Club ownership model, this is only a part of the organic growth of the sport, in human terms, a transition from Kingdoms to Empires. But, if you want to avoid this, keep the policy at the base of your thoughts. I am pretty sure the "Savio" scenario was in discussion but we all know who would be offended if this extra measure was applied, you know, to promote healthy competition.
Not shock I would be angry as well but typical City and Chelsea can buy from there parent clubs but we cannot not gonna lie worried as there no news on sales 😊😊😊

Again Sir Jim is saying the right things and also managing expectations. I won't be surprised if they manage to find a way around the ban on signing a player from Nice. Top 4 and maybe winning the Europa League or one of the domestic cups again would be a fantastic season and expecting anything beyond that is unrealistic

It is also important to keep in mind that ogc nice is not owned by the glazers family; there are other organizations and stakeholders at ogc nice, and some of the profit from player sales will be distributed to them. Now, compared to United:
Apart from Di Maria(which we sold at a loss) 47 mil and Lukaku 74 mil (same price we got him), we haven't sold a player for more than 25 mil since SAF's retirement.
Every club, even Real Madrid is gonna have a bad buy but the difference is that they more than make up for it by selling players for a lot of money.

Ineos are in full control, the Glazers are an irrelevance now. The debt is an irrelevance. Same stadium, well yeah, it's not possible to plan and build a new stadium in 3 months. SJR has pumped $200m cash into the club so far, more to come after 30th June. As you were.
The whole club is a complete and utter mess thanks to the Glazer's and their not going anywhere.
