- In this video, we put the spotlight on the newest casino resort on the Vegas strip; Fontainebleau Las Vegas in Nevada. Join me as we tour the entire Fontainebleau resort including the casino, restaurants, food hall, shops and more!
The Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a sister property to Fontainebleau Miami Beach, and sits on the 24.5-acre site previously occupied by the El Rancho Hotel and Casino and the Algiers Hotel. Ownership and development has changed several times since the project was announced in May 2005. It was originally proposed by developer Fontainebleau Resorts, owned by Jeff Soffer.
Construction began in February 2007, and the hotel tower was topped off on November 14, 2008. The tower rises 68 stories, standing 737 feet high. As completed, it is the tallest occupiable building in Nevada. A group of banks had agreed to finance the project, but was sued by Fontainebleau in April 2009, after it cut off funding. Construction was put on hold two months later when the project entered Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The Fontainebleau was 70-percent completed, and the opening had been scheduled for October 2009. Carl Icahn purchased the project out of bankruptcy in 2010, but never restarted construction. Seven years later, the unfinished resort was sold to investment firms Witkoff Group and New Valley LLC, which planned to open it as The Drew Las Vegas in 2022. Construction stopped in March 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In February 2021, Soffer bought back the project through his company Fontainebleau Development, with Koch Real Estate Investments as a partner. Soffer reinstated the original name of the project, with construction resuming in November 2021. The project was developed at a cost of $3.7 billion, making it the second most-expensive resort in Las Vegas. The Fontainebleau opened on December 13, 2023, and includes a 173,000 sq ft (16,100 m2) casino and 3,644 hotel rooms. But is this spot right for you? Join me as we check it out!

I came here through your link at Miles to Memories. Good job getting a status upgrade.
Thank you so much and thank you for watching! I appreciate the support. Have you checked out Fontainebleau yet?
It doesn't look to bad. I can't believe it finally opened!! How many casinos have been imploded since Fontainbleau has sat dormant lol
It's actually so nice in there. I definitely want to go back and hopefully stay next time. The rooms look good from what I've seen. Nice to see it finally done. I didn't think I'd see the day!
Cool to see you guys having such fun in a beautiful place-jealous!! I am a little burned out on Vegas luxury. I told Troy next time I just want to stay at planet Hollywood. It’s a sure thing.
I love Planet Hollywood but I have to say I hate hate hate their pool. I stayed there back in 2016 and honestly had a great stay. Perfect location, love ABC and Walgreens plus all the cheap eats. But their pool sucks in my opinion. I debated staying there this stay since the pools would be closed anyway but we ended up at Vdara, Aria and Cosmo again. But definitely go and check out Fontainebleau when you go. You're probably like me and saw the place being built for years so it's nice to see it's finally open.
@@Spot_Wright yeah, their pool sucks but then you do have access to all Ceaser’s pools, although the logistics of that are questionable. The make or break issue for me on fb is whether you have acess to the tram. That’s why I hate resorts world. Nothing is so special that I want to stay on property the whole visit
@@bethanyarnp8852 very true. I never stay on property all visit. I always like to wander around and visit all my favourite spots on and off the strip.
@@Spot_Wright I had to do that during F1 at palazzo, we even had quick access to the sphere, Wynn and Venetian but I got burned out that week on high end luxury. I’m ready for another center strip experience.
@@bethanyarnp8852 that isn't a terrible idea. We always want to stay at the nicest places but sometimes it's nice to go back to the classics or the fun ones. Maybe next trip!
Nice video friend. It's very reminiscent to the Miami FB. I hope it's a big success.
I haven't been to the Miami one. I've definitely been craving a Miami trip as I haven't been since I was a kid. Next trip is Atlantic City the end of February. Where are you off to next?
@@Spot_Wright You forgot. I'm going on Icon of the Seas in Feb. VERY EXCITED!😃
@@Davey7358 oh right! That should be a blast. I'd love an excuse to get away from all of this snow in Toronto. Sounds like you should be starting your own travel vlog with all the travelling you do. I will say it does somewhat take the fun out of it though and ends up feeling a bit like work.
@@Spot_Wright Yes, that is why I don't do it friend. Spot on lol. I am going to the Olympics in Paris. I will most likely vlog that. 😀
@@Davey7358 you're smarter than I am haha. Sometimes I wonder why I started this whole channel but oh well. It has its benefits as well. Never been to Paris so I'm definitely jealous there!
Will they match MGM gold or Unity from Hardrock?
I think if you show both cards, it shows (or at least looks makes it look like) you play. Be nice and be confident and I think it should help your case. No harm trying! What status do you have at Hard Rock? I might also recommend dressing a little nicer too (not saying you don't already dress nicely). We were both dressed casually but had some designer stuff with us which made him sort of say he could tell we were legit. Have you also tried matching your MGM or Hard Rock status at Resorts World and Cosmo? I would also suggest speaking to a host at The Palms (we spoke to Johnny) and even getting a match at Circa. The more statuses you have, the better. Caesars we had a tough time with but ended up getting matched in Atlantic City. Good luck and let me know how it goes!
