    I just watched your staying positive video. I must say I started watching your videos about a month ago and you have been such an inspiration and help to me. I am also dealing with chronic illness and sometimes I just don't know how to deal. When I started watching I was dealing with a depressive episode and Harlow would just make me smile with her silly antics and my service dog Luna always loves watching Harlow. As soon as the music comes on Luna pays attention. What made me stay and watch every single video on your channel was your words of inspiration, encouragement, positivity, and hope. What you do has helped me on some of my darkest days when I felt like the pain is too much and I just can't focus on anything but the pain. Then your little nuggets of wisdom bring a ray of light and help me realize things when I can't think of anything else but the suffering and pain. I have adopted some of your tips to make it through my days dealing with Chronic Illness and although I am still new to practicing them they have helped tremendously. Keep up the good work and once again thank you for what you do, who you are and for just being a blessing to us that watch your channel.
    May God bless you and your family mightily.
    -Rochelle

    Your staying positive video is so inspiring! I have dystonia in all the muscles of both hands and arms, fibromyalgia, many back problems from a childhood accident, migraines, & in the past 2 years I've had 2 failed back surgeries with lots of hardware & 2 back fusions, a colon resection and a hip replacement. I can barely walk even with crutches, have lots of pain, etc. I struggle a lot with one thing you mentioned, guilt. I always feel like though I know in my head that this isn't my fault, a part of me always thinks that there must have been someway I could have prevented this, something I could have tried, etc-it's frustrating & I'm working on it. It's hard to know that no matter what I do, there's no escape from the pain.

      I am so happy the video helped! Sometimes I feel the same way you do, but I know I will eventually be okay

    • @susano7587
      @susano7587 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Suki, I don't know your age, but I am 61 and you do NOT want to carry this kind of guilt with you all your life. I've carried it since being put on Social Security disability in 2012. I feel guilty, like, are people looking at me and thinking, "That lady needs to get a job"?!?! OR....am I pulling my own weight...etc. It can keep going on and on. This is why I SOOO LOVE Jaqui, she has made me realize, it is possible to be disabled and "happy" (to the best of my ability) at the same time. She is SUCH an inspiration to me. Please be kind to yourself, as I am now attempting to be to Myself. You are a good human, a childhood accident certainly could NEVER be blamed on yourself. And don't carry with you all the anxiety and depression I have carried with me for the past 5 years. I just thought of something strange, I was still working in 2012 (light duty) and took my kids on a "splurge" vacation at the Don Cesar in St Pete's Beach, when I called my employer that Friday for "Monday's assignment", when I was told I was no longer employed and now needed to apply for Disability. There are SO MANY God things in my finding Jaquie, and I think that is one! I was "TICKLED PINK" when I saw Jaquie and Judd driving by the big pink hotel on their way to Crabby Bills and stated they would be having t heir Honeymoon there!!!!!

      You don't have anything to feel guilty about. You do & did what you can. Praying God's peace in your heart. I don't know you, however I care about you because I have physical & mental disabilities. You just keep on doing your best & don't let others take your self confidence. God bless

    • @Suki7stars
      @Suki7stars 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the replies! I'm on disability too. I don't feel guilty for that. It's just that when I was younger, I could do the mind over matter thing for pain, and I tried really hard to take good care of my health. When I say guilty, I just mean that now my health seems to be out of my control, and I keep thinking that there must have been something different I could have done to prevent that from happening, something I didn't know about, etc. And I know that What if game is pointless, frustrating, and leads nowhere. My doctors have told me that I couldn't have prevented all this, I just need to work on believing it myself! Hugs and prayers to all of you! And I agree about Jaquie, she's so inspiring!

Also congrats in 62k. I can't believe I went from wishing you were growing faster to checking your sub count every video and being excited. 100k is on the horizon!!!!

    Watching your videos makes me want to go out and enjoy my life with chronic illness. I have a still undiagnosed chronic gi illness with minor heart problems and chronic migraines and some days idk why I even get out of bed. Seeing you with many more chronic illnesses and keeping so productive is so inspiring. I love Harlow and Judd and your relationship. I look forward to your videos every day. P.s. Yes the radioactive eggs sure do turn you off from eggs for a good while lol. I hated that test and the CT scan!

    Your training vids have given me many ideas for my own mobility SD. He's only 5 months old, but we're working on pulling the laundry basket(I made a handle from old t shirts), getting dry clothes from the dryer, and bringing his toys to the bedroom at bedtime. He's already doing medical alert on his own, I just have to train him to let me be after he alerts.

  • @samiamisme
    @samiamisme 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know I say this a lot, but I love watching you train Harlow (and me). Lol. She's so smart and it's been helpful to see how and when you react. If she anticipates a command, like she sees your hand start to move to the ledge, and starts to jump before your command, but she executes it well, do you still reward/click? Man that's brilliant about increasing her core strength. Thank you! Btw....I love your mom. She seems super sweet. It's a blessing to have her with you.

      LOL, I was at Old Navy yesterday trying on girl's Stevie Ponte leggings because I LOVE what you wear Jaquie!!! I think the colors of your clothing really "brighten" your videos. Sadly Old Navy doesn't carry XL...I want the black floral ones. My gastroparesis has recently improved, I don't know why (but SO glad I haven't lost my undigested dinner, hours later, for about 6 months, and I have regained almost 15 lbs...my BMI was about 17 for a while and MY Dr. kept telling me I was going to end up on a feeding tube. Sad for the leggings not fitting but glad for the reason why.

    hi Jaquie i watched your latest vids and loved them. I especially loved the vid on how you cope when you have a down day and it does help. I ll be using it on the days when I need to be reminded that its okay to be down as long as i have coping mechanisms to pick myself up and dust myself off again. Thank you for making these vids they have become so important to me. 💕

    These videos are really fun and helpful! I love Harlow's antics :) I had a service dog for a while, trained by an organisation (I have Spina Bifida), but it just didn't work out. I hated to see the dog go to another owner, but I realized that dogs trained by special organizations are just not the same thing as training your own dog from puppy. Right now I am starting to train my own puppy, so your training videos really help. Have a great day!

    Hey Jacquie I have an odd question for you totally understand if you can't/don't reply. I am a student contributor for Liberty University's Odyssey forum. Basically I write articles on a weekly basis and my subject this week was on the difference between: ESAs, Therapy dogs, and service dogs. I referenced you in the article as a great resource for more information about chronic/invisible illnesses and service dogs. I wanted to make sure it was ok to do that. The article is set to go live tomorrow so Im kind of asking for forgiveness rather than permission I totally didn't think about it until now, however if you say it is ok I would love to add a link to your channel. I myself suffer from severe anxiety and depression along with PCOS, although my illnesses are different I identify and share some the same struggles you do. Your journey has inspired me to keep moving foreword even on the days when my body doesn't want me to. Thanks for inspiring me! I pray every day before I watch your videos that you had a good day! :)

    I just rewatched your "all about my chronic illnesses video" and I was wondering if you could talk about your specific gene mutation. You called it a "gene prep mutation" I think. Is that referring to the gene named PREP? I'm a huge science nerd and I would like to know more. I also have a lot of similar conditions, and I want to do more research on your mutation.

    • @ChronicallyJaquie
      @ChronicallyJaquie  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oliver Likes Cats I think so. I'm not 100% sure on the mutations themselves because genetics is very confusing! I know the mutation name, what it means, and how it effects me. But beyond that, I'm still learning lol.

    I have been training a service dog for a person in a wheelchair since January. The dog was over a year old when we started and he has been very good with everything I would teach him but one. He will not pull open a cabinet or door (i've tried rope toys, fabric, ball on rope) and he will not pick up something on the floor and bring it to his dad. I've tried everything i know and searched the internet for answers. I can get him to hold something if I put my hand under his chin. Any suggestions would be great!

    How long do you typically work on a new command for? Do you go until she does it a few times with praise or do you let her try a few times then stop and pick back up the next day? Harlow is such a wonderful pup. You were definitely blessed with her for sure ❤️

    When you said "bananas with papaya" I gasped out loud and headed for the comments..... then you said "wait not papayas" and I kinda got relieved! Lol but I don't know if you heard that some papayas imported from Mexico were linked (don't even know if that's the correct term haha) to having salmonella! Just thought I should let you know in case you do have some!

      I wondered the same thing. If feeding a diet that mimics life in the wild why feed frozen foods. You certainly wouldn't find frozen foods in the wild.

    • @razzgray5370

      It's frozen because it needs to be stored, and it doesn't change anything in the food if it is frozen lol

    Quick question that probably sounds really stupid or dumb: when you're resting to help ease your symptoms, what are doing? Like do you sleep or do you just relax on the couch and chill? Sorry if this is a weird question, I've just always wondered lol

    • @ChronicallyJaquie
      @ChronicallyJaquie  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends, sometimes I sleep, sometimes I am in between, sometimes just relaxing.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't raw meat supposedly bad for dogs since it has bacteria and possibly E. coli? That's why you have to cook it to remove the bad stuff.
