@@ulasliz IU has done hard rock??😂 I do know there are other idols who have artistic integrity if that's what you're referring to. Maybe it wasn't clear what I was saying. I've never seen an idol do a song/MV like this: grungy, no choreo, hard rock sounds, horror elements, no GP appeal. But I don't know everything so if you know others who have done something like this, please let me know because I would love to see them. Not being facetious, I would like to know.

Major sidenote, I’m a huge fan of alternative/ punk/metal rock and the fact that this is J-Hope‘s first solo song on his album just fills me with so much joy. I love that he’s taking more risks with his solo work and not to restrict himself to what people expect, he’s going for what he wants and what he loves to explore. That’s what makes him and the rest of the guys so amazing , whether as soloists or as a group, their constant thirst to try and challenge themselves. Honestly, Jung Hoseok never ceases to amaze me with his immense array of talents and versatility. Even before this song, he has always been so versatile (he has given us songs like MAMA, Baseline, Boy Meets Evil, Hangsang, Ego, 1Verse, Piece of Peace, Blueside), so I had no doubt that he was going to absolutely stun us all over again. He can do so much with just his voice and create so many sounds - it's incredible. Not to mention he is so bold and everything he does is always to such a high standard - the perfectionist in him wouldn't stand for anything less. His stage presence and showmanship is phenomenal. You can just tell this man was born to perform. He is totally going to take the world by its throat at Hobipalooza 🔥 I just wish I lived in the US so I could attend 😭😭😭
As for my favourite part of the MV - the whole thing knocked the wind out of me. Everything from his vocal fry to his flow.... but that chorus slaps everything time 🎸🔥 I'm seriously not ready for the full album 💀

While I was reading the lyrics I was like “Yes boy you keep speaking facts!”. HIS VOICE THOOOO WTF, he was insane for that, the way he kinda soft growled)? the words at the end of his sentences?! he sounded so good 💀🔥 I died when I first listened to the song. Holy shit....J-hope surprised everyone and revolutionized the k-pop industry, in a few words he showed how eclectic and professional he is, now more than ever, because he can show what he knows how to do without being tied to restrictions of a contract and that is why he is thirsty for music in the universal sense, and that prizes are not worth more than doing what you love and being able to breathe and shout that "The best is yet to come". Many won't understand what to be between the lines because they are melodic fans and just expect luxurious and cuddly mvs, but he is not just that'he and the others are more than BTS members, they are human beings with different views and tastes refined and therefore cannot be tied to a single rhythm. Dude, she MELTED out of that chair. Loved the joke about Hobi...excuse me Jay actually having bones which I laughed too hard at. I saw the teaser pictures of him with the band but I was not actually EXPECTING a rock element in this song. I knew it was gonna be different from the teaser pictures but I was NOT expecting this dark grunge rock element at all. I like this experimentation that he's doing. It's like when Namjoon went from his 1st mixed tape to Mono, completely different sides and this feels like the same thing; from Hope World to Jack in the Box. I am loving this and I cannot wait for the album!!!
And yes his hands are really pretty. He and Tae have pretty hands. Of course there's the Yoongi hand thing but it's different from Tae and Hobi.
As someone who loves 90s to early 2000s rock/alternative music I absolutely love this. This song reminds me a bit of The Gorillaz. That's a compliment coming from me because while I don't listen to all their music, the songs I do know I love.

I had a feeling something rocky might come out after I saw the teaser, but still..... Common... who could have imagine this catchy heavy and rocky chorus... For real, it is the first time when an artist has shocked me that much..... Loved this work so so much! Ok so I mentioned this on a tweet but from the teaser I got a rock element so I thought if we got rock hip hop thought Rage Against the Machine sound wise they usually have more of a beat, up tempo, sometimes a bit funk sounding, and rapping (actually I think he could pull that off really well). Even though I still got a bit of that vibe with the echo and distortions on vocals in the production it learned even more rock then I anticipated and was slower tempo and hit hard on the chorus. Someone mentioned in the chat the gravelly low dragging of his voice during the prechorus reminded them a bit of the lead singer from Korn in a way which is a sentence I never thought I'd be typing. I mean it does have that angsty vibe to it. I'm still shooketh. I had no idea this wasn't even the title track for the album, had no idea until someone said in chat.
