And to add more context unlike Beast Wars were many of the toys were made first or made with communication between the artists of the shows and toys designers, Beast Machines had a huge disconnect between them soo they couldn't doo much
Supreme Cheetor was actually my first transformer, and I actually loved it (until the batteries started to go and it would make sounds randomly in the middle of the night), it opened the door for RID, Armada, Energon, Cybertron, and retro-actively, Gen 1. I wish Hasbro still made toys of this quality. Though I do have an Optimus Prime from that recent Netflix series run, and it's my favorite desk decoration.
I'm tempted to skip "Beastwars" just to witness the trainwreck that is "Beast Machines". I mean, I know it's a sequel and I can always come back to watch it, but I just like watching horrible shows (especially transformer ones).
@@sporkwarrior9950 you might only dislike beast machines if you haven't watched beast wars. If you have watched beast wars then you will absolutely HATE beast machines.
I remember seeing this toy in Toy's R Us and begging my parents to buy it for me. They did and i Played with him for years. I loved him and i miss him to this day.
The beast mode seems to look like probably feel like and move like it could form an arm for voltron and I can agree the robot mode face looks like he's possessed by unicron
The stomach part on the belly separates so you collapse the torso more to make him more proportionate in robot mode, the legs are meant to be bent like chicken legs so overall he’s not meant to be that tall
It’s impressive how genuinely disgusting and hard to look at beast machines designs are. It’s like they where intentionally trying to repulse kids and end their show
I bought Supreme Cheetor when it came out. Full price. Well, I did get a 10% employee discount at Toys R Us. I still don’t know why I bought it. Or still have it. The toys were designed off of early show design concepts, which were further redesigned by the animators. Later toys were based on the show models with greater or lesser success. I’m just saying thank goodness we only had two years of Beast Machines.
That robot mode head feature should’ve been on a VILLAIN, that’s creepy af. I have the core class Legacy figure, and it’s awesome. Much more accurate. I want Beast Machines Vehicons in Legacy!
i had this guy. One time i went to my friends house to play and i brought him and on the way back while riding my bike the bag he was in broke so i had to carry him while i rode my bike and he was so big and flimsy especially the legs i kept almost dropping him and i ended up crashing my bike into a parked car cuz i kept having to readjust my grip. Dang thing was an annoying toy to play with.
I know beast machines isnt the best but id be lying if i said i didnt like it, its the show that introduced me to the beast stuff and i have a soft spot for all the designs and stuff
I got it on clearance from being on clearance after being put on clearance. LMAO 🤣🤣 I think I got it for less than $10. But I've never opened it & never will because I experienced it previously. I bought it for my step-son for Christmas when it first came out. I'm actually impressed that you got it to STAND. 😂
I’m from the uk and when I was like 8 saw a guy selling like 20 of these for a fiver each on a car boot market, at the time I thought they were knock offs
This toy was so unspeakable, Japan preferred to have no Transformers at all after Car Robots failed and thus wait until they finished Armada, as opposed to subjecting their people to the stinkers in Beast Machines, which they ultimately released in the country after Galaxy Force AKA Cybertron concluded, with little to no fanfare. As for Supreme Cheetor, let’s just lay they dodged the bullet with this guy.
I will say this for Beast Machines, I will defend the toyline. Not only were a lot of the vehicons really good, but a lot of the maximals were surprisingly incredibly solid and unique figures with fun engineering, like Night Viper, Blackarachnia, and Battle Unicorn (though it did have some massive stinkers). The show on the other hand, I'm not defending that. It's just BAD.
Yes, and a very infamous one too. according to TJomega, Supreme Cheetor sat on shelves so badly that when the remaining stock was dumped at Amazon and had it's price dropped to about 5 dollars, it still would not sell
I hope hasbro keeps one for a good example on how NOT to make a Transformer. I can’t believe I wanted one of these things when I was a kid bahhhahahaha dodged one hell of a bullet
Oh boy. Here goes. Im one of the few that really liked the dark, gritty, weird ass feel of beast machines. In my opinion, it had a good story i wont reveal. I went in blind so i didnt know what to expect, besides the fact it looked waaaaay different than my beloved beast wars. But after getting past that, and the repetitive 90's music i really liked it. It actually told a story unlike most of the unicron trilogy and dare i say it- G1. Dont get me wrong, it aint award winning material, i just feel its very underrated. Plus, the cherry on top of this cake for me was the introduction to one of my alll time fav transformers; Botanica. And there is NO WAY you will ever see a figure of her. I dont see how it would be possible.
I'm a huge TF g1 fan, grew up with them, but this whole Beast-whatever TF era I cannot understand. The premise is lame, the cartoon was lame, the toys are lame. I just don't get it.
The fact that this was the second tallest Transformers toy for YEARS still haunts me at night
And that fact it was the first supreme class figure.
No it doesn't. Why do you exaggerate so much?

To answer your question, the toys were made during BM's concept phase, so they were based on concept art instead of the show's models and art
