@danidogma you're correct, it's my opinion, I didn't state it as fact. My opinion was based on some of the things he did such as Arcee doing that "I'm strong, come on" pose after defeating the decepticons, which was very anime-ish and was not how G1 Arcee would have reacted. What he did was good, and I'll even say excellent when looking at his quality of work, but I grew up with the originals so am stuck with their original personalities. The VF-1A Angel Birds Valkyrie was very random and cool to see in Battroid mode, but the Takatoku Jetfire deco would also be nice to see in a Transformers animation.
It’s a really great characterization! He already hated Megatron and just wanted to be loved/respected more than actually caring about being an enemy of the autobots. It’s an interesting idea to have him “reformed” but still kinda crazy.
Nah. He was teaming up with Hot Rod and Arcee as a means to an end. Sort of like how sometimes Megatron would sometimes work with Optimus Prime in the original G1 cartoon. Starscream just wanted to get back at Galvatron.
This is a real 1980s overload! The quality is astounding, spotted more than a few specific scene and camera angle references. Turning 40 in a few weeks and you suddenly brought us back 39 years, feeling all young and excited again. Please do more.
@@EobardTronYep, it's Marty McFly's hoverboard, but the camera angle just before she takes off into the sky is just like Daniel speeding off to see the shuttle in the movie.

Do you REALIZE how ridiculously AWESOME this is?!?!?! Those of us who grew up on G1 Transformers want to desparately see this as a series with the fire 80's rock track you have in here! This is the Transformers series we need!
I was expecting references, but ghost Starscream doing the "Ghostbusters" walk caught me off-guard! And the transition to looking like hand-drawn animation was an unexpected gift, as well. Superbly done!
Is it wrong if I want the Transformers crossover comics to be reprinted? The ones with Ghostbusters and Back To The Future look cool from what I've seen, but I wasn't able to get physical copies...
I never knew I needed a team-up between Starscream's Ghost and Arcee, but somehow, it works. Kinda want to see them interact for real ngl it's just such a fun and wacky concept.
She is so cute and strong at the same time! I miss this type of characters today you are either one or the other, this type of femininity is seen as weak and undesirable, huge loss
@@Fenris30 That statement reminds me of the fandom's reaction of Beast Wars with the whole "Trukk Not Monkey" thing with Optimus Prime/Primal as a Gorilla instead of the usual big red truck.
Indeed it was like watching G1 all over again and you made me cry a little because of that. The animation is so perfect, so fluid! It seems we fans are in a new era in which we are the ones entertaining each other with far more quality, professionalism and passion than any corporation now a days is giving us. Five minutes of such a beautiful passionate art inspired and entertained me more than a whole series of the scrap they are making today and calling "Transformers". Thank you, so so much, all of you guys that have put this amazing work together so neatly. I'll be sure to use the proper ways to support you guys and I encourage everyone who have watched it and liked it to do the same. We have to support each other, guys!! Fan to fan art and entertainment is the future!
It’s sad that Hasbro is owned by vulture capitalist financial groups like Blackrock and Vanguard. It’s all about maximizing profits for these corporations, which means putting out stuff the cheapest and quickest way possible.
Things like this make me so happy, to see people still making content including g1 characters. I can’t fathom the time and effort that went into modeling and animating this. Thank you so much for your animated short films.
I think what I love the most about your work is simply the fact that despite the fact that you’re using 3D models, the perfect cel shading makes it look like it’s classic 2D animation. Amazing work as always, man.
Cgi has been common in anime and western cartoons for decades. The problem was that it always looked out of place and never meshed well with the rest of the frame. Yet in the last few years artists have really honed using 3d and 2d animation techniques together to create fantastic results like this. I hope this kind of style gets used more in the future as opposed to wholly 2d or 3d things
As a generation one fan I am utterly shocked at how nostalgic I feel right now. You took me back to my childhood when I saw the movie in 1986. You deserve to have your own transformers G1 show. Or animated movie.
Man, it's so strange. I remember seeing Transformers: The Movie in the theater back in '86 and immediately loved the new characters. I had a real fondness for Arcee back then. Now watching this made me fall in love with Arcee all over again. Great work.
So jealous, my little town didn't have a movie theater. But I agree, immediately latched on to the new characters. Certainly helped that I'd already received a bunch for Christmas by the time the VHS was released
I can only use one word for this: Glorious! As someone who grew up in the 80's and watching Transformers on weekend mornings with a big bowl of cereals, this was like a trip to Nostalgia-Town! An awesome Job well done!!!
Yep, I knew it! This was an homage to the Daicon III (1981) and Daicon IV (1983) short film animations The first major works by a group of amateur animators known as "Daicon Film" then Who would go onto form the illustrious Gainax animation studios, of which, there were many references to the many series of in this animation Loved how you even had Daicon Girl in at one point and also the FLCL Guitar Smash! Another epic work, so glad I have found your channel!!
Lost my dad a couple years back and we bonded over generation 1 transformers and this animation put a smile on my face beautifully done please keep creating this was masterfully done!!!
And don't forget the Back to the Future Hoverboard. Love the cameos, the soundtrack, animation, and details! Great work. Seriously, someone please sponsor them for soundtrack and TV show! I would so contribute!
Galvatron: [Kills Starscream] Starscream: Oh no...anyways. [Proceeds to turn into a guitar that smacks Giga Galvatron] This animation was so good! Love the modern take on the G1 laser bolt animation style, it fits so well.
I simply cannot overstate how much great masterpieces like this is appreciated. From the visual aesthetics, to even the voice filter you applied to the characters just fits. It all feels so right. This was a real treat.
This was so amazing. I'm 43 so all those little references and Easter eggs were like a walk back down my VHS childhood. The bunny girl from the Gainax reel hanging out with a Veritech, wow. That's a pretty *deep* cut, that one. Haha! You nailed their personalities and the tone of the old show too at the end there. Truly incredible work!
@@TheFallenFaob oh hell yeah. That was definitely in there. There are about a million great references. I just happened to notice a couple of fairly obscure ones, unless you're my age 😆
Of course they wouldn't. Why would kids understand nostalgia for something before they were born? Are you nostalgic for stuff from before you were born? Lol
Fantastic and so many moments where I just marveled at how you pulled off difficult shot after shot! Thanks to you and your team for another great short!
Even though it was a wacky dream everything about this feels amazing and top notch I even loved that you used planet Galvatron and some how made it ridiculous but entertaining at the same time, I especially appreciate ghost Starscream being there. This is one of the reasons why I like fandoms, they can be so creative that rivals or is just better than the people at Hasbro/paramount
Hated how they put her with Springer, felt like she left Hod Rod when he needed her the most. If you watch the movie she only had eyes for him. Reminded me of John Bender and Claire. Rodimus was supposed to be him becoming the person Arcee saw him as cause they all saw his potential not just Kup. But once Hasbro decided to bring back Optimus they had to do something about Rodimus so the kids wouldn't get too attached. Can't have a Quarterback Controversy.
@@Fenris30agreed, it was clear that Arcee was set up to be Rodimus's Elita-1 counterpart but then they changed her attention to Springer and that do annoyed me. I loved Arcee & Hotrod's banter in the movie and wish we had more stuff with them together
This is great, capturing the spirit of G1 Transformers and the old Daicon animations perfectly. I could fully unfocus my eyes and believe I was watching this off a VHS copy at an anime con 25 years ago. Well done.
This is sooooo aggressively 80s and I loved every single second of it. I appreciate the love you give to Arcee and the Season 3 cast. Not a lot of attention is given to Hot Rod, Cup, Arcee, and such.
This was really well done. Grimlock balancing the beach ball on his nose is the cutest thing ever and I didn't know how much I needed that in my life. Loved all the Daicon IV and FLCL references (which were themselves Daicon refs) in this. Also appreciate Galvatron becoming his (IMO superior) G1 toy colors for a moment. All it needs is some ELO in the background.
We need an official series like this, instead of the crap that we’ve been getting for the past few years, this is what people want, and your providing service at top quality to the community, thank you
It’s even better than I expected my friend, and so happy to see my name in the credits!! Hasbro better hire you. Your skills are insane!! This is exactly how I would want G1 to continue!!! Hoverboard was the best touch as well!
These are insanely good... I'm honestly blown away. Oh, I just noticed you had Starscreaming walking like the Ghost from the into of the Real Ghost Buster. Serious respect to you, lol.
This does not happen often, but watching this made me feel happy. It just put a smile on my face that keep coming back when I think of it. Thank you for making this and sharing it with us. You all made something wonderful.
I've been watching this over and over again. Seriously great work! The voice acting was so great. Hot Rod really is DEAD ON. Perfect Judd Nelson from '86 right there, Andrew should be proud because he nailed all his voice work. Galvatron was REALLY close too. Your Starscream was really great as well, but I really like Natalie's voice for Arcee. I'm glad you didn't try to do a Sue Blu voice with her as I think Natalie had a more fun and playful sound to it. The Hot Rod transformation and the upside down camera shot as he drives towards the city and the SFX for the drive by was fantastic as were the interior shots from inside Hot Rod. The seat and dashboard details were recreated BEAUTIFULLY. Music was perfect too. I ADORE That lo-fi remix at the end credits. Seriously, Hasbro needs to get to hiring animators like you f they want to keep these characters fresh. This short, PROVES to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt that these character designs do NOT need to be updated or modernized or anything like that, they just need to be given a better animation style with someone that knows what they're doing and actually CARE about the characters.
That was awesome!!! I love how the first stage of Galvatrons evolution into the TMNT Technodrome was trading colour schemes with his vintage 80's action figure! The Marty McFly hoverboard was a fantastic touch, too! Just outstanding work by everyone involved!
Wow. This is the best thing I have seen since the 80's. You have nailed the style of animation perfectly. As a fellow animator I'm blown away by this. You have achieved something I could only dream of. Absolutely stunning. Hasbro should just give you the keys to the kingdom right now and get you to make a proper Transformers movie.
Okay, Galvatron turning into himself into a mini-Unicron, I can see that. Starscream’s ghost teaming up with the Autobots to get revenge on ‘Megatron’… a stretch, but sure. Starscream subsequently turning into a guitar and Arcee going all Fooly Cooley on Galvatron’s beach ball abs? Unbelievable, yet so awesome! 100/10!
It takes a special talent to be able to make something looks almost 1:1 exactly like the G1 series and then put an awesome fight scene with awesome characters and also be hilarious, you sir deserve to make your own transformers series more than any company that has tried nowadays.
Damn the voice actors were all really good in this. And I spotted references to Galvatron's toy colors just before he turned into Grand Galvatron from the Japanese Headmasters Anime. Arcee rides the hoverboard from Back to the Future 2. Pretty sure this is the third time that Back to the Future has been referenced in Transformers. Rescue Bots had a car in one episode made by Doc Greene that was intentionally designed to resemble the Back to the Future Delorean, of course there's Giggawatt which I have, and now this! I was questioning why Starscream's ghost was helping the Autobots but it figures he just wanted revenge against Galvatron for killing him.

The VF-1A Angel Birds Valkyrie was very random and cool to see in Battroid mode, but the Takatoku Jetfire deco would also be nice to see in a Transformers animation.
Not only a reference to Unicron but also to Grand Galavatron from Head Masters
And that Back to the Future hoverboard suits her perfectly.
Making Ghost Starscream a good guy is something I never knew I wanted, but I'm happy it's here.
It’s a really great characterization! He already hated Megatron and just wanted to be loved/respected more than actually caring about being an enemy of the autobots. It’s an interesting idea to have him “reformed” but still kinda crazy.
Starscream was always one this one side... His own side... A traitor to all but himself
Nah. He was teaming up with Hot Rod and Arcee as a means to an end. Sort of like how sometimes Megatron would sometimes work with Optimus Prime in the original G1 cartoon. Starscream just wanted to get back at Galvatron.
@@MPbmfm Actully he wasnt traitor till the war starts
This is a real 1980s overload! The quality is astounding, spotted more than a few specific scene and camera angle references. Turning 40 in a few weeks and you suddenly brought us back 39 years, feeling all young and excited again. Please do more.
He threw in the Marty McFly hoverboard, too. Music almost all the way through. Laser sounds. Yeah onky we would watch it.
@@EobardTronYep, it's Marty McFly's hoverboard, but the camera angle just before she takes off into the sky is just like Daniel speeding off to see the shuttle in the movie.
@@EobardTronthe entire video is a reference to diacon iv. You should look it up and watch it. Its absolutely amazing
YOOO THE FACT YOU MADE IT GHOST STARSCREAM TOO- THIS GOES SO HARD
Also Starscream actually helping in this and just enjoying his "life" as a ghost is too good XD
Do you REALIZE how ridiculously AWESOME this is?!?!?! Those of us who grew up on G1 Transformers want to desparately see this as a series with the fire 80's rock track you have in here! This is the Transformers series we need!
Me too
check out the track from the death battle between optimus and amuro rey it's called wings of iron. very very 80's hair metal
Absolutely 😊
Couldn't agree with you more.
I was expecting references, but ghost Starscream doing the "Ghostbusters" walk caught me off-guard! And the transition to looking like hand-drawn animation was an unexpected gift, as well. Superbly done!
Then the did a FLCL

Is it wrong if I want the Transformers crossover comics to be reprinted? The ones with Ghostbusters and Back To The Future look cool from what I've seen, but I wasn't able to get physical copies...
I never knew I needed a team-up between Starscream's Ghost and Arcee, but somehow, it works. Kinda want to see them interact for real ngl it's just such a fun and wacky concept.

Wait. YOU ANIMATED THIS??!! I thought this was an oficial show!! You have so much talent it's crazy. You deserve your own show.
Too good to be an official show
if too much for a show then a movie perhaps. definitely too much talent to waste as the toys and merchandising is already there.

Oh yea I definitely see the FLCL vibes

The Good Seeds were sown in the 80s. So good, they continue to this day, for all the reasons you mentioned.
It’s sad that Hasbro is owned by vulture capitalist financial groups like Blackrock and Vanguard. It’s all about maximizing profits for these corporations, which means putting out stuff the cheapest and quickest way possible.
This is so much better than Galvatron's Revenge. Absolutely beautiful
Excellent job. Your team really nailed the 80s feel. It's the best TF animated thing I have watched in a long time.
I hope g I joe cross over with this
I’m so glad I stumbled on your page! I can’t thank you enough for preserving my childhood in your own way, while still staying true to the OG source!
This Daicon tribute is amazing, the FLCL vibes in it were awesome. Gainax would be proud.

I like how he outright admits to the references and just throws her in. Now that is just PEAK fiction right there
100% I hope some go look for the reference
As a generation one fan I am utterly shocked at how nostalgic I feel right now. You took me back to my childhood when I saw the movie in 1986. You deserve to have your own transformers G1 show.

Man, it's so strange. I remember seeing Transformers: The Movie in the theater back in '86 and immediately loved the new characters. I had a real fondness for Arcee back then. Now watching this made me fall in love with Arcee all over again. Great work.

It's great to see Arcee and Hot Rod working together. We don't get enough of that in this franchise

That Hot Rod transformation was SMOOTH
The G1'ish transformation never gets old for me
I'm at a loss for words. This was perfect. I can't stress that enough. Perfect.

So many little references and all animated wonderfully!
This just blew my mind. This is worlds better than any other transformers animation I’ve seen in ages. How-what-- I’m speechless
